goodnight
i say
to the glint in my eye
so mysterious
yet unwelcome
it was time to say goodbye
i apologise
for my edges
and forgetting they were so sharp
i could be careful
but my next time
i will forget who you are
and i will probably catch you again
too easily
and accidentally
and i'll swear you off
to keep you safe
since i'm just afraid
and you don't see it
so i'm thankful
but the audience is aware
so i should cut down
on my longing gazes
and stick to simple glares
