sweet dreams, delilah

it feels as though your half the world away
when in reality it's just one timezone
but still it's been long since i've seen your face
i don't know how much longer i can go on

i listen to songs to remind me of you
your laugh playing through my head
but darling, i hope you do that too
that it's not just me missing you with dread

i've written but you've yet to reply
was it something i said?
you left me with a compliment, no goodbye
oh, are these tears that i shed?

calling me emotional is understated
though i'm sure you're aware
but days with no sounds make me violated
i must check if you're still there

so excuse my sense of self
this is how i am
i shall take care of you till you rest
and then i shall enter mayhem
