At the streets, a black hooded girl peeked out around a corner.
Alex looked around.
Her best friend, Sophie was at the other side of the building, hiding.
A man walked past her, and she sighed in relief.
"Sophie!" She whispered. "It's all clear."
They've been running from home for three days now. Since they discovered...
A wolf walked out from one of the many alleys next to the building.
It ran towards Alex and shifted.
It turned into a white hooded girl, about the same age as Alex.
Yeah. That.
"Well?" Sophie whispered.
"Let's go." Alex replied. "It should be fine now."
They walked out onto the streets.
Alex nervously fingered the hidden dagger on her belt.
Something is coming. She thought to herself. I can feel it.
"Alex!" Sophie warned.
They turned back to back, looking around. Nearby pedestrians looked at them weirdly.
A eagle flew above them, squawking.
And masked figures emerged out into the open.
"Well well. What have we got here?" One of them drawled.
"Shut up, Shade." Another nudged the one who spoke.
"Who are you, and what do you want?" Sophie spoke, trying not to let her voice shake.
"Well..." The one called Shade started to speak.
"Greetings." A man masked differently from the others stepped out. "My name is Black, and this is my crew."
"And for what we want..." Shade snickered.
Black motioned for him to stop. "We want nothing but your life."
