Chapter 22

"Tauros horn attack!" Ash yelled.

"Tauros you do the same!" William commanded.

The two Tauros slammed their heads into one another and began fighting for dominance.

Currently Ash and William are in the middle of a battle with their Tauros at the hotel they were all staying at in Sevilla for Serena's next showcase performance, and Ash's next gym badge. Serena's next performance is tomorrow, marking the beginning of a week long fiesta called Feria de Sevilla, which sadly for Ash is the reason that the Sevilla gym is closed until after the fiesta is over.

Luckily for Ash though he can get some battling in starting the day after Serena's performance. A tradition Ash learned about in Torrent is Tauros battling at most fiesta's. And apparently this one is rather big this year, as the regions Tauros Battling Champion has decided to make Sevilla the location for him to host his big tournament. What makes this such a big deal is that the champion has only lost one battle in his ten year reign, to William five years ago.

William came to Sevilla for Isla's next performance as she was competing for her second rose of the three needed to qualify for the Torrent Master Class. He did want to participate in the tournament again while he was there, but with his new position as a member of the Torrent Elite Four, he isn't allowed to participate in non Pokémon League competitions. However once he saw Ash was here, he decided to stay afterwards for the tournament and help Ash get his multiple Tauros in battling shape.

William's Tauros finally started to raise its head higher and begin to lift up Ash's.

"Tauros break off then horn attack again but start lower," Ash called out.

Ash's Tauros backed off, causing William's Tauros's head to quickly shoot up from the lack of weight to push, leaving him wide open for another attack. Ash's Tauros charged back in with his head down and caught William's, then threw it up into the air. Ash and Tauros watched carefully as William's Tauros went up, then began to come back down.

"Now Tauros Take down," Ash called out.

Ash's Tauros charged in at high speed on William's Tauros's path. Then right before William's Tauros hit the ground, Ash's slammed right into him. William's Tauros crashed into the ground and slid to a stop by his feet with swirly eyes.

"Two out of three, not bad," William commented as he returned his Tauros.

William and Ash proceed into the Pokémon Center to have their three Tauros each they had on them healed. For training purposes Ash decided to keep three Tauros on him at a time for now, keeping Pikachu, Greninja, and Fearow as well. Ash would have kept four Tauros, but his experience with Team Rocket made him feel keeping a flying type on hand was a good idea. Ash and William sat down to wait for their Pokémon while Serena and Isla worked on their performances. William did want to also watch his daughter practice, but she said he was going to have to wait for the showcase to see what she came up with.

"Hey William, are you sure it's ok for me to be using multiple Tauros for the tournament," Ash asked.

"Of course. It's not uncommon for trainers to use a whole team of Tauros for these tournaments. They tend to plan based on the move sets of their opponents, and to have a fresh Tauros ready as they tend to have the trainers battle more than once a day later in the tournament since these are just one on one battles. Personally I competed with five and made sure to give them each a chance to battle. This was especially good on the last day as I had to battle three times, not including my battle with the champ," William replied.
