Cold.

Harsh.

The wind was identical to her reality.

Dank.

Empty.

They sky reflecting her heart.

Emma stood at the rooftop of her college campus.

She looked around, her eyes grazing over the head of every bully, every tormenter.

Every teacher who'd done nothing to help.

21 years old and still she was being bullied.

Ridiculous.

She scolded herself. A grown woman should be able to stand up for herself, but no.

She was still that little vulnerable teenager in everyone's eyes.

Age didn't matter. She was innocent and people took advantage of that.

She took a step forward, gazing up into the clouded sky.

Letting the little flakes of snow fall and melt on her skin.

Feeling the burning sensation of the cold take hold of her as she stood in a smile blouse and jeans.

She didn't care anymore. She welcomed the cold, the darkness setting into campus as evening approached.

And then she heard footsteps.

A frown took over her face.

She wanted to be alone as she did this.

Emma darted away, hiding behind a chimney as two men came up the staircase.

"Where did she go?" Came an all to familiar Irish accent.

"I don't know..." murmured that of a teacher she knew all too well.

Wanna approached the edge of the building, breathing hard as tears slipped down her cheeks.

Her nose had grown red from the cold surrounding her, as had her ears and cheeks.

Was she ready to give it all up?

To throw away her life?

It wasn't like anyone would care.

Perhaps Mary-Margret would shed a tear. That would be all.

She had no parents to disappoint. Nearly no friends who would grieve.

Did it matter at all?

Emma's breath hitched as she watched a little pebble fall...

And fall..

Until it hit the bottom.

Emma closed her eyes.

She was ready.

To become one with the dirt everyone thought she was.

She took a step forward.

Then another.

One more and there would be no turning back.

"Don't," came a faint whisper from behind. And Emma knew.

She knew it was Killian.

"Why not?" Emma asked in a broken voice, ready to step off.

"Please, Emma, I'm begging you. Don't," Killian pleaded.
