Lucy wasn't joking when she said she wanted to bring me to the restaurant for a surprise. And I'm telling you : I've never had that many goosebumps in my stomach, like, ever. The second she appeared in my sight, I knew I was screwed.

She takes my hand, placing a light kiss on my jaw.
After she tells the waiter her name, the boy cracks a smile, looking at us, before showing us the way to the balcony. There are a few other people, but since Lucy obviously asked for the table just next to the river, with beautiful lights and candles everywhere, as my eyes go wide. I don't know what's prettier tho : the view or the smile on her face when she sees how moved I am by her move.

We smile at each other through the whole dinner, romantically holding hands, until she just starts having a nervous mug on. I frown, not sure what's going on.
I bite my lips.
"What's on your mind, my lady ?" I ask, serious.
She smiles.
"I thought about your friend's offer" Lucy starts, way more serious than I would've wanted her to be. This doesn't sound good. She sighs, shaking her head. "Kristie, I can't leave Manchester."
