Chapter 40
Annie Pov.
I wake up from a nightmare. Finnick comes in and sees my terrified face.
"What happened? Are you okay?" he asks nervously.
"Yea I'm fine... I just has a bad dream." I explain.
"Okay. We should probably get ready for..." I cut him off.
"Yea I will." I mumble.
I go and put on the dress that I wear for the reaping. Finnick puts on a suit that he must've gotten from his stylist. We walk together but only for two minutes because he has to sit on the stage next to Mags, the mayor of district four, and the mayor's family. He didn't get to hold my hand this time as the peacekeeper took my blood, so I had to face it by myself. I walk to the girls' section and Pearl walks on to the stage.
"Welcome to the 66th Hunger Games reaping." she says happily. "Let's find out who is going to be our female tribute this year."
She walks to the reaping bowl and pulls out one slip of paper. "Our female tribute for this year is Annie Cresta."
