i have been a victim of bullying myself, and i know how bad it gets. i don't know who's going to read this poem, but i'm writting this for all the people being bullied that don't have a voice -i wrote this poem because my friend had a breakdown today on the phone with me because of the bullies that won't leave him alone. he was sobbing on the phone by the end of the conversation, and he's a guy so its all the more shameful for him that he cried, and that someone heard him cry
i dedicate this poem to the bullies that gave me hell all through fifth and sixth grade, and to the bullies that are giving my friend hell now, and to all the other bullies out there.
you mock him in class
you have no reason to hate him
you just do it to make yourself feel better
its because of his pain that your flourish
do you not know that when he goes home
he fingers the trigger to the gun?
do you not know how much he wants to pull it?
because if he doesn't its one more day that you hurt him
does it occur to you that the next insult you throw his way
will make him pull the trigger?
when you hear about his death on the news
think of this
if you had just kept your mouth shut he'd still be alive
the funeral wouldn't be on tv because he'd be alive
will make him pull the trigger?
do you not know about his little brother and sister?
they follow every step he takes
they hang on his every word
they desperatly want to be just like him
they break thier back to be just like thier idol
thier idol
the boy that you so cruelly mock
thier lives are going to be shattered
the day the he takes his life
because you wouldn't leave him alone
its not your fault he's ugly
its not your fault he doesn't fit in
but it is your fault that he pulled the trigger
but it is your fault that he's dead
its your fault that his little siblings don't have him anymore
its your fault because you opened your mouth
