alive and dead, are you still here?

every night i see you

every night i feel you

your voice whispers in my ear

your soft smile

i don't know where you are

your on the other side of a line

that i have no way of crossing

because you made me promise to stay

i don't know how close or how far

away you are from me

but my memories hold the key

to opening that door

i still have all the memories

of all the time that we spent together

those memories keep you here

wherever you are

those memories let me be with you

those memories are the only thing

that i have left of you aside from the note

i wish i knew where you were

are you here watching as i write this?
