Mike was still in a paranoid state. The things that Ayesha had done now will take a toll on the agency. She is playing a dangerous game.

He was drinking his glass of brandy deep in thoughts when his phone rang.

He picked it up with irritation, very sure that it was some irritating journalist who somehow found out his personal number.

"Hello," he said.

"Hello .  Mr. Michael Smith?" It was a very calm and composed voice, not something he had expected.

"Yes?" He asked.

"Sir I am dr.Varma from the Memorial hospital. do you know any Ayesha Zaid?"

Mike felt his heartbeat rise "Yes. She is my employee. Is there any problem?"

"She was shot in her shoulder," The doctor said still calm.

"What?" Mike shouted. His whole body was shaking.

There was some static, then the doctor told him that they were going to operate to get the bullet out. That the bullet is not very deep and there is nothing fatal. That he had to write a formal police complaint. Then the line went dead.

Mike jumped out of his chair and grabbed his car keys. He hesitated for a moment then messaged Harish informing him what had happened and hurried out.
