The icy water fills your lungs, giving a searing burning pain in your chest. You never pictured you would die this way. You-

Barry quietly opens the door and steps inside. He yells out a "Honey I'm home" but he doesn't hear the sound of your voice or your feet padding down the stairs. Instead, it's just eerie silence. "Y/N?" Barry yells, again no response. He walks upstairs to your shared bedroom, and push opens the door. You're not there, instead of your body is an envelope.

His name was written on the front. A million thoughts run through his head. Barry quickly tears the envelope open and pulls out the note.

Barry, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I've become a burden to you. I'm sorry that I've kept you up with my nightmares. I'm sorry I've done this to you. But the voices wouldn't stop and this is the only way out.

Barry's read the note over and over again. You were never a burden. He didn't care that you kept him up with the nightmares. He loved you, so why couldn't you see that.

Two weeks since your death. Two weeks. Barry couldn't function, and since today was the day or your funeral, Barry was even more of a mess. He couldn't get out of bed, so Joe and Iris had to haul him out and get him ready.

Once they arrived, Barry completely broke down. He couldn't watch you go under the ground never to be seen again. But Joe pushed him further along until the reached the area where Y/N was to be buried.

The ceremony was sweet but Barry wasn't listening, all he could do was stare at your wooden coffin. Once it was time for your coffin to be buried, he immediately felt suffocated. Everything started to spin. He had to leave and so he did. And he never looked back, for the fear it would destroy him.
