Harry Styles couldn’t help but smile a little as he watched Zayn nibble on the large piece of chocolate cake that his Mother had packed for the two boys. Zayn’s big brown eyes looked down at the cake, as he held it in his small hands, like a baby bird eating for the first time on it’s own. He gave little nibbles of it, and smiled as he chewed his small bites, in obvious appreciation for the chocolate sponge cake. Harry found the sight utterly charming. But, as well as finding the sight of the boy nibbling away on the cake cute, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of confusion deep in his mind. The way Zayn ate the cakes that his Mum prepared for them made Harry wonder just how often the boy actually ate cake, and all of the other types of confectionary food. What Harry also noticed was the way that Zayn would treat everything that was put in his hands like it was some sort of sacred object. His fingertips seemed to treat everything like it was made from thin glass that would shatter ever so easily, and Harry took that as a quality that not a lot of people had, or will ever have.

“Nice?” Harry asked softly, as they both sat underneath the window in the small art closet once more. On their arrival in the closet, the humidity and the temperature had immediately hit them heavily, and made both of the boys blow out a puff of air. Harry had immediately made his way over to the window, and had tried to prise it open. The window was stubborn at first, but with a hard push to the old, paint flaking wood, it had finally come loose and opened, only for the two boys to find that it could not hold itself open. Harry had let out a grumble, before grabbing an old, half empty bottle of paint and had shoved it inbetween the window and it’s latch, therefore holding it open. They were both please when the fresh air from outside finally hit them and started to blow around the small, humid room.

They had both settled onto the old couch pillows beneath the window, and with the slight but steady breeze that was blowing into the room from above them, they started in their small lunchtime tradition. Zayn didn’t have to be forcefully fed the wraps this time, though, instead the quiet boy took them with a big smile and started to nibble away at them, his tummy letting off rumbles of appreciation, which made the boy blush.

“Nice.” Zayn replied, before he looked at Harry with a big smile, and Harry couldn’t help but chuckle when he saw the small spots of chocolate icing that was dotted around the boy’s lips. Zayn frowned a little in obvious confusion as to why Harry was chuckling.

“Why are you laughing at me?” Zayn asked quickly, his voice quiet as he looked over Harry’s dimples that were popping out of his cheeks.

“Because you’ve got chocolate all over your face, babe!” Harry chuckled, before he watched as Zayn blushed a little. The boy’s cheeks flushed pink, as his tongue peeked out of his lips to try and reach to the spots of icing around his lips. Zayn watched the boy, biting on his bottom lip to stop him from laughing anymore than he had done, but watching the boy helplessly fail to clean his mouth, Harry gave in and a loud laugh fell from his lips.

“Z, come here.” Harry laughed, before he pulled a tissue out from his blazer pocket. After checking it was clean, he reached across and wiped it across Zayn’s face, while his other hand held the back of Zayn’s head to keep the boy steady. Zayn’s eyes closed and his nose scrunched together as Harry mothered over him, and Harry chuckled softly once again, before looking over Zayn’s now clean face.

“There, much better.” Harry laughed, before he snuck a cheeky peck to the boy’s cheek. Zayn’s nose still remained scrunched up as the boy let out an innocent giggle, ultimately making Harry’s heart swell in cuteness.

“Thanks, Harry.” Zayn spoke up, looking at Harry with another smile that made Harry feel all fuzzy inside, before he turned back towards the half eaten piece of cake into his hands.
