The house was completely chaotic with all the people in it. Everyone was shouting for missing things or the things they needed.

The ladies of the house were double checking the things needed for engagement and a small puja before that. While the gentlemen were checking up with catering, cars and all the outdoor activities.

While we children were busy in dressing up, don't count me in it! Okay, maybe kind of yes.

'Emotions' are really powerful. Never underestimate them the way I did. From now on, I was not going to believe anyone who said nothing can be dangerous than a nuclear bomb. For those people, emotions are million times powerful than any nuclear bomb.

And if those emotions belonged to Indian families, then "tu to gaya bachu!" (you are dead, kid)

I was right now sitting in front of the vanity table while Ruhi dee kept experimenting with my hair. The girl with a pony tail was going to be tured into a girl with hairdo. Can anyone believe it?

That's not all! I was not wearing any jeans or Anarkali dress. Instead, I was wearing a lehenga.

Can anyone imagine the one and only Aesha Dixit, wearing a lehenga?

So how did I end up like this? It was the time when emotions proved to be fatal than ever.

11:05 am on engagement day....

We kids were bunking and catching up like there was no tomorrow. Then everyone discussed what they were going to wear at the function.

"I am so excited! I finally get to wear a lehenga in an Indian function and that only in India too!." Niya clapped her hands delighted.

"Niya, so childish of you" I teased and showed her my tongue.

"Says the child, herself" she rolled her eyes.

"What are you wearing, Aesha? Jeans?" Niya teased me.

"You guys don't know how much effort it takes to convince her to wear an Anarkali dress. Its like she is going on a war." Sonal dee added.

"That's not true! I don't like wearing them because they are so heavy sometimes and it feels hot." I complained.

"Hey! They are comfortable." Dhristi dee said.

"The truth is, she is too acustomed to wearing jeans, leggings and tops that anything else makes her feel heavy." Cannot you close your mouth, Sonal dee?

"Have you guys forgotten that I wore a saree at Rahula bhaya and bhabi's wedding?"

"No we have not. But its true that you have never wore a lehenga." Sonal dee was like a lawyer today.

"So how about we changed that today?" I turned back to see it was Richa masi.

"Masi?" I asked confused.

She brought her hands in front and shoved a package in my hands.

"Open it." She spoke excited!

I opened the upper cover and pulled out the copper sulphate colored cloth which turned out to be a lehenga. Everyone shouted yes while I look at it as a dumb.

"Lehenga? For whom?" I asked frowning.

"For you bubba" Masi replied.

"Me?"

Masi nodded her head.

The lehenga was really beautiful. It had a godlen border and the skirt had gold printed flower on them. The blouse had a neckline which resembled like a necklace. It was really a piece of art but wasn't made for me.
