Chapter 12

Mahi's POV

Bhai and Roshni left for Surat immediately, everyone was a bit surprised at their sudden departure. But our family was super excited about the upcoming wedding. They all started shopping as if they would buy the whole market.

I was busy with my final exams and the project that I had to submit at the college. Meanwhile, I helped Mom with the wedding and at her showroom, on and off.

Ron's POV

I came back from Surat and tried talking to Raj, but he was so upset that he was not ready to talk about either Myra or Manik. He was working nonstop like a machine since he came to know that Myra was in a relationship with Manik.

So, I let it be for some time as there was time for the wedding, I was sure that I would convince Manik or Myra that they were not meant for each other, they should marry, whom they really wanted to get married. 

In the meantime I kept working on that new project, keeping all the suggestions Aunty had given me, I wanted to surprise Dad and chachu. So started making a proper business plan. I was sure that once Dad and chachu see my plan, strategy, and the big order I already had, they will be very happy and convince Mom for allowing me to try this.

After a few days, Megha Aunty came to meet Mom, I was also in the office at that time, I greeted her and he gave me a very sweet smile.

She has always been extra sweet to me, but Megha Aunty always gave me an extra sweet smile though Mehul uncle always remained a bit extra reserved with me. Somehow, I always felt that he was scrutinizing me.

" Priya, we are going to Surat, tomorrow as Maya's mom is not keeping well and she wants that at least one of her grandchildren should get married so that she can bless the newlyweds. So the wedding would have to be preponed and we need to talk to Manik about it as he got very annoyed after the surprise engagement ceremony. " Megha Aunty said to Mom.

" Oh, when are you planning to get them married? "

" A week or two at the maximum. " Aunty said and I was shocked.

No!! I can't let that happen.

" What? So soon? I don't think, he would be ready for that. "  I said.

"  You all are alike, see how Raj is behaving weirdly these days, they don't want to get married, for another few years, but I am also looking for a good girl for Raj. " Mom said.

" Mom, don't you think, Roshni is a good girl? I have met her many times and I think she will be good for him. In fact, we all met her when we went to Surat earlier and we think she is very sweet. I think we should give him a chance to meet Roshni. Even Raj seemed to like her.  " I said.

" Well, that is a good idea, Ron. But would he agree to that? He seems to be very moody these days. "

" Let them meet once, I am sure he would agree to the alliance. " I said.

" That's great!  We are going to Surat he can come with us and meet Roshni. "  Aunty said and went away.

I tried to talk to Raj and made him understand my plan but he was not even ready to listen to a word about Manik or Myra. But I could not leave this last opportunity to make Manik realize that he wanted Roshni, not Myra. 

So the next day, I went to Surat as Raj. I had convinced Raj to pretend to be me while I am going to Surat as Raj. He rolled his eyes but agreed.

I could not go with all of them so I took the next flight. When I reached their haveli, my heartbeat increased.

It has always had such an effect on me since that fateful day, years ago. 

And that day also when we...

I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths. Somehow all the incidents were so vivid in my mind. I recalled everything... My heartbeat increased and I felt as if I was going through all that again.

This haveli has always had that haunting effect on me ever since then. Every time I come Here, I always get goosebumps.

But I had to Shook my head to clear my mind as I was here to solve the problems for my twin, Raj, and my friend, Manik.

I went in and heard Mehul uncle saying, " Raj and Kapoor family will take care of her studies. She can join their family businesses either with Priya or with Raj and Rahul Bhai. Don't worry that would be taken care of. Such good alliances don't come again and again. They know everything about her and Kapoor family is so loving and caring that we would never be worried about her. " Megha Aunty was saying.

Oh wow! They are already adding fuel to the fire.

" Of course, I am closest to Rahul among all my friends. I know, I can trust him and his family as much as I trust mine. I would not hesitate to get my daughter into the family. And Raj is the best of their three boys. As good and decent as our Manik." Uncle said.

My heart started beating fast.

" Yes,  and we are so happy to have Manik for a son-in-law. If he takes such good care of Roshni, I wonder how much he would care for Myra. " Maya Aunty said.

Wrong, Aunty!  He is obsessed with Roshni, he can only take care of her in that way. Only Raj can take care of Myra, in the same way.

" But chachu... " Manik was giving another lame excuse when I went in as Raj.

" Raj?? What a pleasant surprise!! " Viren rushed to me and gave me a side hug. I greeted everyone and hugged Manik. But he looked shocked.

" Mom said, since you all are here, I must come here and meet Roshni as well, with your permission, of course. " I said to Megha Aunty.

" You have our permission and good wishes. We really think you are perfect for each other. " She said and all the elder ones nodded and smiled.

I smiled at Roshni, she gave a faint polite smile to me. While Manik was really annoyed by now.

He was glaring at me, I mean Raj, according to him.

We all started having food. But I could see that neither Manik nor Roshni could eat anything.

Shah family talked about the wedding and both Roshni and Manik became very tense, I looked at Roshni and saw that her eyes were getting filled with tears. All this has to end.

Manik saw that too and tried talking to them but they cut him short as usual and started talking about their wedding. Roshni almost choked.

" Are you alright?" Manik asked giving her water.  But she didn't even look at him or took hold of the glass, and she excused herself and rushed to the washroom. He got up to go after her but Megha Aunty stopped him. He still insisted.

" Uff!! Stop it, Manik! Are you her mom?? Megha will go and see her.  We have come to discuss the marriage ceremony and other plans, we have to make arrangements. " Mehul uncle scolded him.

His mind was occupied with Roshni that he didn't even pay heed that they were talking about preponing his wedding.

Mehul uncle asked him if the suggested preponed wedding plan was okay with him. But he had not heard anything.

Idiot!!

" Hey, I am so happy for you, Roshni is a good girl. You both deserve each other. " Viren said to me thinking I was Raj.
