Everything went black again. I woke up and saw that I was back in this dark room but not chained this time. I stood up slowly, still feeling a little groggy from whatever had knocked me out.
As I looked at Aamon, I could feel a sense of unease settling over me. I knew that he was not to be trusted, and that I needed to be careful.
"What do you want?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
Aamon simply smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I just wanted to check on you," he said. "Make sure you were alright."
I didn't believe him for a second. I knew that he had some ulterior motive, some hidden agenda that he wasn't sharing with me.
"I'm fine," I said, taking a step back. "I just want to get out of here."
Aamon's smile faded, and I could see the anger in his expression. "You're not going anywhere," he said, his voice low and dangerous.
I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I looked at him. I knew that I was in trouble, and that I needed to find a way out of this situation.
Thinking quickly, I reached into my pocket and pulled out the charms that everyone had given me. I touched them gently, feeling the power coursing through my veins.
