"I am not a child mother, you can't tell me what to do." Victoria screamed as she walked away from her mother. Gabrielle grabbed her by the arm causing her to look back.

"Do you really think that he loves you? He's using you and you're too stupid to even notice." Gabrielle said trying to talk some since into her oldest daughter. For twenty-two years, she and Nick had done everything within their power to protect all of their children but for some reason Victoria was determined to learn the hard way.

"I don't care if he loves me or not all I care about it what I get out of the relationship. If I'm going to sell out I might as well make it worth my while."

Victoria stared her mother down her green eyes dark with angry, she watched as a mixture of anger, pain, and disgust wash across Gabrielle's face.

"Where did I go wrong with you?" Gabrielle wondered aloud as she held her tears back. The young woman in front of her was not her child but an imposter. Gabrielle knew that Victoria loved to test her the same way she tested her mother, all of her past sins were coming back to haunt her in the worst way possible, she was losing her child.

"I'm just following in your footsteps ma." Victoria spat out.

"Excuse me?"

"You sold out for dad; I'm selling out for my career. We are one in the same so save the self-righteous bullshit for one of your other children." She said Gabrielle slapped her across the face before dragging her down the stairs towards the basement.

"Let me go!" Victoria screamed as Gabrielle burst into their storage room.

"You ungrateful child, you have really lost your damn mind. I did not sell out for your father I sold out for you and your brothers and sister, but that didn't mean that I stopped writing." Gabrielle said as she dug into an un labeled box and tossed manuscript after manuscript at Victoria's feet.

"If you think you are so much better than me then get out of my house."

"You're kicking me out now." Victoria said in utter disbelief.

"Get out of my house right now!" Gabrielle said with tears streaming down her face.

"No I'm not leaving just-"Victoria was cut off as Gabrielle hit her in the chest with a two hundred page manuscript in her hands.

"Get out, I want you out." She cried as she hit Victoria repeatedly as Victoria tried to run away from the hits.

Scrambling up the stairs as Gabrielle continued to assault her with the torn up manuscript Victoria ran right into her father's arms as he walked into the house with his anger clearly expressed.

"Nick get this wretched girl out of my house right now!"

"Daddy she's trying to kill me." Victoria cried as tears dripped from her face.

"She has every right to, I know about everything that's going on."

"You too daddy?" Victoria said as she let go of her father. Before Nick could say anything else Victoria stood up straight and squared her shoulders before looking both of her parents in the eyes and said, "Fuck this shit and this whole damn family, have a nice life." Victoria stormed out of the house slamming the door on the only people who would be there for her no matter what.

"Why didn't I listen?" she wondered aloud as the memory replayed in her mind. If only she had listened, she wouldn't be dying alone in the middle of her living room. She had everything she had ever wanted, but still had nothing. Clutching at her wounded abdomen as her breathing became labored, she only wished she could tell her parents how much she loved them and that she was sorry for everything she had put them through. She wished that she could tell the only man that genuinely loved her how much she loved him and appreciated everything he had done for her. If only she had more time, she could set everything right, but her time just ran out.
