Once you fell asleep you were on high alert, you wanted to sleep lightly just in case your lady needed anything throughout the night

Small discomforting noises alerted your ears, and you felt small twitches from your lover's hand onto yours- making your eyes open

You blinked a couple of times to get used to the darkness filling the room as you sat up slightly, your lady was tossing and turning a bit until she finally settled down back into a comfortable position

"Darling?" You murmured softly to not startle her, you placed your hand lightly onto her sleeping shoulder

Her head was laid upon your abdomen, it seemed like she shifted down a bit while sleeping, but her hand was still gripping yours

She seemed uncomfortable, her eyebrow was twitching lightly and her breathing was slightly uneven

You nudged her softly and carefully "Alcina, wake up" you whispered quietly

Her lip twitched slightly as you called her but she didn't budge, but now she looked uncomfortable- her facial expression was as if she was uneasy

"Darling" you said louder, nudging her a bit more forcefully

Her eyes opened up in a fright, she suddenly tensed up and looked at you "Y/N? Is everything okay?" She sat up and faced you

You lit up a lantern and a couple candles so the room had light

"Yes, everything's okay with me.. but you my dear" you went on your knees so you could cup your lady's cheeks with both hands

"You seemed to be in distress" you stated "are you still having trouble sleeping?" You kissed her forehead

She sighed and grabbed both of your hands "you need not to worry about me love, I've had night terrors and nightmares before..this isn't new to me" she kissed one of your hands "I've always just dealt with them by ignoring them completely"

You furrowed your eyebrows slightly "Alci, I've been your lover for basically a year now, you don't need to bear these burdens alone anymore, I'm here for you" your eyes soften as you spoke "I want you to feel safe enough to tell me what bothers you"

"Y/N, I-"

"You need to learn to be vulnerable with me, I know you're a powerful countess, and lord on top of that! But I'm your girlfriend, and I'm not going to judge you, everyone needs a shoulder to rely on" you rubbed small circles on the top of her hand with your thumb

Her eyes clearly showed that she was thinking for a moment, but she seemed comforted at the same time

"Let me take care of you Alcina. You had to bear these types of things for years on end..and I'm here now, and I'm never leaving" you showed her your black mutated arm but you moved your eyes so you couldn't see it- knowing that's what your body looked like now made your heart clench and your stomach twist
