The Mafias Daughter

Chapter 22

"Dad" I say sitting down at his desk opposite him with my hands locked together resting on the desk 

"Amelia" He says copying my hand position 

"I don't want to get married to some Russian mafia boy" I say very seriously 

"So Leo told you then?" He says chuckling, "I thought he might, I'm surprised you didn't have to be sedated" 

I ignore him and say "This is serious, its my future after all and I don't-" 

"And the businesses future, don't forget that" he cuts in 

"Yes. And the businesses future" I say through gritted teeth. He cares more about his 'business' than he does about his own daughter. "I don't want to marry someone because of it being good for 'business'. I want to marry someone because I love them." 

"You could learn to love Igor" 

"No. I'm going to take over the business by myself and I don't need some idiot messing things up for me." 

"Amelia I don't know if I can trust you to take over the business, you've made a habit of running away and not being loyal to this family. Plus the Utkin family are a major threat to us and by you marrying Igor then that would dissolve the threat."

I think about what he said for a second. "What if I can find a way to make them not a threat anymore?" I ask 

"And how would you do that?" He asks mockingly 

"Uhhhh, well I'll think of a way" I say frustrated with myself. I had the whole plane ride here to think this through but instead I slept the whole time. 

"Amelia, you are going to go to that ball and do what you're told. And if you don't, then I'll have to think about bringing those friends of yours out here because I won't hurt you but I have no problem with hurting them" He says slowly, "And you better not do anything that could piss off the Utkin family because they could be very dangerous enemies" he adds 

I hate him. 

"Fine" I mumble and leave his home office before he can say anything else. I've been suspended from using the elevator again (the passcode got changed and no one will tell me what it is) so I have to walk all the way up to my room. 

"What are you guys doing here?" I ask Lucas and Leo when I walk into my room

"Waiting for you" Leo says as he stretches out on the couch 

"Why?" 

"We have to take you ball dress shopping" Leo says while rolling his eyes 

"Can't it wait? We literally got home half an hour ago" I say sitting down not the couch next to Lucas 

Leo shrugs his shoulders stands up then says, "your Dad said today so were going to go today. Come on" 

"Ughhhh" I complain then follow him out of my room 

"Nope. Your Dad said you have to take the stairs" Leo says to me when I followed them to the elevator 

I don't say anything instead I just stand there looking very frustrated, 

"Go" He says giving me a little push towards the stairs 

"Ugh, I hate you" I say as I start walking down the stairs 

"Love you too!" he shouts after me.

After an agonising walk down the stairs after I had literally just walked up them, I finally reached the bottom and we all left to go shopping. And by all I mean me Leo Lucas and about 20 of my Dad guys. 

"What about this one?" Lucas asks while holding out a pink sparkly dress

I look at him very unimpressed then he continues to say-

"What? It's pretty" 

"No. No it's not. Put that away it's making my eyes hurt" I exaggerate

My Dad rented out the whole shopping mall so that I could try on dresses so there is no one else around.

"Okay, what about this one?" He says pointing to a dark blue dress with an massive frilly skirt 

"You have got to be kidding me" I say looking at him 

"Yeah I am, but can you imagine what Igor would think if he say you wearing that" he says laughing 

I look at the dress again, "you've got a point"

"No, no I was joking, I was joking" He says frantically

"You know, I think you found the right dress" I say smiling 

"Leo! Leo, help me out here, Vincent will kill me if he knows I gave her this idea" Lucas says frantically to Leo while I walk into the dressing rooms 

"Nah man. It's too late" Leo says laughing 

"Omg this is ugly!" I yell as I look myself up and down in the mirror, I run out of the dressing room and act like I'm walking down the cat walk, "What do ya think!?" I ask excited 

Leo laughs and say's, "Your Dads gonna be mad Amelia" 

While Lucas just moans and puts his head into his hands 

"Yeah I know" I say smiling responding to Leo's comment 

The dress is perfect and now I'm just going to get some hideous shoes and a bag that'll match the dress and everything will go to plan.
