"If you are interested in stories with happy endings, then you would be better off somewhere else. In this story, not only is there no happy ending, there is no happy beginning, and very few happy things in the middle." -Lemony Snicket
Except I don't think there are happy things in the middle
ok on to the story

Third Person POV
It was a normal day in the Stark household where a 16 year old Morgan Stark played around in the lab fixing up her own gloves and boots that would help her stick to the walls like Peter so she would have some leverage in hide and seek.
"Hey Friday?" Morgan said. "Yes Mini Boss Lady." Friday said. "It's way too quiet in here. Can you play Shoot to thrill as high as you can without Mom hearing." Morgan requested. "Of course ma'am." Friday said.
She sounded like she wanted to say something else. "If...you don't mind me saying. You sound just like your father." Friday said. "Really?" Morgan asked. "Yes. Your father used to make the exact same requests. Except he never referred to Mrs.Stark as Mom." Friday said.
Morgan smiled a bit and tried to get back to work.
It didn't work because after Friday said that she couldn't get her mind off her Dad. "Hey fri, what time is it?" Morgan asked. "It is currently 7:38 pm." Friday said. "Oh shoot, Peter's gonna be home soon." Morgan said putting her tools away.
She rushed to her room to clean the oil off of her hoping that she would be able to have a movie marathon and stories with her big brother like they used to do before Peter took over the company.
She finished getting in her Pajamas with 5 minutes to spare and she rushed down to make sure she could greet her brother with a nerf gun and bypass his Spidey-sense. It was a challenge Peter had given her when she was 6 and she hasn't given up yet.
Morgan got down the stairs with her nerf gun as her mom was getting off the phone with someone. "Morgan. Peter can't make it to dinner tonight." Pepper said. "Oh." Morgan said. "He got-" "caught up with the company. I know." Morgan finished. "It's the same excuse every time."
"Morgan-" Pepper tried. "No it's ok. I'm really tired anyway and I have to work on my science fair project tomorrow. I'm going to bed." Morgan said running up the stairs. Pepper sighed and went to clean up the dishes.
Morgan ran into her room and wiped her eyes an put on the sunglasses. "E.D.I.T.H?" She asked. "Hello Morgan." Edith said. "Where'd I put it?" Morgan asked knowing Edith knew what she meant. "It's in the chest, where you always leave it ma'am." Edith said.
Morgan put down the glasses and opened the red and gold painted chest. She took out her dad's old IronMan helmate and placed it on the bed tapping the familiar button on the inside and a hologram of her dad popped up in front of her.
She let out a broken sigh.
"Everybody wants a happy ending, right? But it doesn't always roll that way. Maybe this time." Tony started. "Maybe not." Morgan muttered. "I'm hoping if you play this back... it's in celebration. I hope families are reunited. I hope we get it back, in somewhat like a normal version of the planet has been restored, if there ever was such a thing.
God, what a world. Universe now. If you told me 10 years ago that we weren't alone, let alone you know to this extent... I mean, I wouldn't have been surprised. But come on, you know. That epic forces of darkness and light that have come into play. And for better or worse, that's the reality Morgan's going to find a way to grow up in."
"A reality without you, definetly worse." Morgan said wiping her tears. "So I found a private area to record a little greeting in case of an untimely death on my part. Not that death at any time is ever timely." Tony said. "Yours was." Morgan held back a sob
"This time travel thing that we are going to pull off tomorrow... it's got me scratching my head about the survivability of all this. But then again that's the hero gig. Part of the journey is the end. What am I tripping for? Everything is going to work out exactly the way it's supposed to." Tony walked towards the helmate though it looked like he was walking towards morgan.
Morgan reached out for the hologram. "I love you 3000." Tony said before the hologram disappeared. "I love you 3000." Morgan sobbed. Pepper softly knocked on the door and morgan looked up.
"Looking at his message again?" Pepper asked. Morgan nodded. "I just really miss him." Morgan said. "We all do." Pepper said. "It's not fair. I barely remember him and you and Peter have all these memories with him and you guys got so much time." Morgan said.
"Actually, Peter was dead for the majority of the time he got with Tony." Pepper said. "Huh?" Morgan asked. "Well Peter had disappeared in the blip and Tony had only been with Peter for about 3 years and he had adopted him less than 6 months before." Pepper said.
"The whole reason Tony did the time travel thing was to bring Peter back. He was opposed to the idea when they first pitched it to him because he didn't want to leave you behind." Pepper said. "But he also wanted me to get to know Peter." Morgan realized. Pepper nodded.
"Well no matter what, wherever Tony is, I know he's so proud of you." Pepper said. "Thanks mom." Morgan said. "I'm gonna let you get some sleep now." Pepper said kissing her ofrehead and walking towards the door. "Love you tons." Pepper said.
"Love you too." Morgan said as Pepper closed her door and went to her own room. Morgan soon drifted off and when she opened her eyes she was in this all orange world with nobody in sight. "Hello?" She called.
She tried to pinch herself awake but she just felt a stinging in her arm. "What?" She muttered. "Is this some kind of nightmare?" She asked herself. "Not a nightmare, I assure you." A voice said. She turned around with a gasp to see Peter. "Peter?" She asked.
"I'm not him. I just take the form of the person you most admire." Peter-look-alike said. "Oh. Why am I here? Where is here by the way?" She asked. "You are in the soul stone." Not-Peter said.
"That's not possible. Steve took the soul stone back to vormir and then it was destroyed by Thanos." Morgan said. "We're not on Vormir and the soul stone certainly hasn't been destroyed." Not-Peter said. "What...what year is it?" Morgan asked.
"It's 2023." Not-Peter said. "That's definetly impossible. It's 2034." Morgan said. "Wait....2023...Is this when my dad....you know?" Morgan said. "Yes. This is right before your dad died." Not-Peter said. "Why am I here?" Morgan asked.
"We decided that this you is the you that should talk to him." Not-Peter said. "Him? My dad?" Morgan asked confued. "Yeah. More like his soul but..." "No Way!" Morgan said excited. "I assume there are rules before I talk to him." Morgan said.
"You are Smart." Not-Peter said. "The rules are you are not allowed to tell him his fate and give nothing important away." Not-Peter said. "Got it." Morgan said. "Now you are going to close your eyes and when you open them you'll be in a soul stone version of your backyard when you were 5." Not-Peter said.
Morgan nodded. "Ready?" Not Peter asked. Morgn nodded and closed her eyes.
There was a flash of light and when she opened her eyes she saw her dad standing there looking around. "Hey." Morgan said. Tony turned and looked at her. He slowly walked towards her and morgan started walking towards him.
"I uh.....Do I know you?" Tony asked. Morgan remembered the rules and didn't know if important included her identity but she didn't want to risk it. "We're pretty close, actually." Morgan said. "Because you're...because you're Morgan." Tony whispered.
Morgan breathed out a laugj. "Hey, Dad." She said. "Morgan." He said taking her hands. "Wow!" He said. Morgan smiled at him. "Guess it worked." Tony said. "Yeah." Morgan nodded trying to hold in her tears.
"Yeah, it worked for me. I got to live, grow up." She smiled. "For you, I can't answer." Morgan said. From the look on Tony's face she could tell he knew what she meant. Tony was silent for a second before lettning go of her hands and starting to walk around.
"I...I'm sorry. It's a...I think I might have made a bad decision. I'm scared I made a mistake." Tony said. Morgan looked at him. "I know." Morgan said. "And I know it's gonna be tough for you to let go." Morgan started.
"But if someone had to do that so..." Morgan sighed. "...the rest of us could..." She trailed off. "I'm proud of you." Morgan said. Tony sighed deeply, his eyes turning red. "And sad." Morgan continued. "I'm strong, like mom." Tony looked down.
"And I'm happy. I'm happy we had the time that we did. Yeah, and that you were there for me. Unto you couldn't be." Morgan said. Tony sighed. "If you're happy, I'm happy." Tony said. Morgan gave a ghost of a smile as she blinked back tears.
"I love you." She said. Tony smiled and gave her a kiss on the cheek then hugged her. "I love you 3000." He whispered in her ear before he disappeared. Morgan broke out into tears both happy that she got to see her dad and sad that she would never see him again.
But she felt a little better knowing that he died knowing they would be ok. And if he could see her she would try her hardest to let him see that she's ok. And if though she wasn't, she would be.....
eventually.
