"Roy... Roy please listen to me" Saanvi ran behind him and caught hold of his wrist. He jerked her hands away.
"Just leave Saanvi"
"Roy.. please let me speak"
"What are you going to say? I've heard enough. Please let me be in peace" he shouted and stepped outside the house only to stop in his track
"Roy..I didn't mean to..."She stopped behind him.
"Surprise..."John screamed Pulling Roy for a tight hug. Behind him stood roys parents with a wide smile plastered across their faces.
"Mumma Papa?"Roy said surprised.
Annie walked forward and planted a small kiss on her son's forehead. He smiled hugging her
"We missed you"
"I missed you more"he said and she twisted his ears
"You never found time for us right? Look what you have done to yourself. You look thinner than last time"she said making him chuckle
"Sorry"he held his ears and then hugged his father.
"Happy birthday my son"Mathew said hugging him back
"I'm sorry Papa" he said with guilt covering him up
"Leave it. It's all fine. We are glad that we got you back as our son"
"And all the credit goes to this unique creation of God"John said looking at Saanvi with a grin. She gave a full teeth smile to them
"Oh. You were here"Annie said surprised and walked to Saanvi.
"How are you dear?"
"I'm fine aunty"she smiled and then looked at Roy. And found him looking at her blankly
"Come on. Are you guys gonna stand here for the whole night. Let's get in and I'm hell hungry"john sighed

Annie and Mathew were unpacking their luggages. Planning to spend a week with their son. Roy was finally happy to have his parents and John around him. He excused himself for a moment and walked inside his room while Saanvi grabbed John to a corner
"Lizard. Thank God. You came at the right moment"she said and sighed sadly
"I've been noticing something. Is everything alright between you and Roy"
"No. It isn't. He's angry on me"
"Oh..why so?"
"I feel terrible because I played with his feelings. But seriously I didn't mean to hurt him at all"
He noticed her eyes slowly getting welled up. He was surprised and guessed what might have went wrong with them
"Saanvi... what's the matter?"
15minutes later John found himself sitting in between Roy and Saanvi on either sides of him. In the bed. Roy looked angry. Saanvi looked Sad
John crossed his arms across his chest. Waiting for them to speak. But nothing happened
"Will you guys speak up. Please?"he said getting irritated
"Jo Jo..ask her to get out from my room"Roy said gritting his teeth
"Lizard. Tell him I will not leave"Saanvi shrugged
"Jo Jo tell her that I don't want to speak with her"
"Lizard tell him that I will not leave without speaking"
"Jo Jo tell her that I've heard enough of her bullshit"
"Lizard tell him that he's yet to hear a lot"
"Argh.! Shut up you both grown up monkeys. I feel trapped up"John said getting up from the bed
"10 minutes. I will give exact 10 minutes. For both of you to sort out the problem. And if not... Get ready to see who I'm"John said stomping his foot and walked outside the room. Closing the door behind him.
Roy sat still feeling her eyes on him
"Will you get out. Or do you want me to go out of the room?"he asked.
"I will not. This is my Roy's room"she shrugged
"Forget it"he got up and walked to the door and tried to open it. Realised that it's locked from outside
"Jo Jo. Open the door you idiot" Roy shouted
"I'm right here. Your time starts now"John replied from other end
"God"he held his head
"Hum Tum.....Ek kamre mein band ho"she sang giggling while he rolled his eyes at her
"Aur chabi kho jaye"she bursted out laughing
"Will keep your mouth shut?"he screamed and sat on the couch. She got down from the bed and sat besides him. He moved a bit away from her and she snuggled closer to him
"Saanvi. Just leave. I don't feel like talking to you"he said
"Roy. Just look at me"she said and when he didn't. She sat on her knees on the floor and cupped his cheeks. His eyes were red and she felt bad seeing him like that
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you at all. I'm a dumb head. Roy I feel really bad. I played with your feelings. But trust me. I didn't lie. My confession was true. Each and every word I said. It was right inside from my heart. You've done so much for me didn't you? I'm really glad that I met you. To have a friend like you. I feel lucky. And I don't want to loose it at any cost. But Love? It's a different thing Roy"she stopped while he stared at her blankly
"Roy... You're my comrade. My avenger. My hero. You mean so much to me. I love you so much Roy. But.. I don't believe in love. Seriously I do not believe in love. To get married and live happily ever after. I don't think that will work between us. What we have between is just pure friendship. Let's not spoil it by dragging it to any extent"
He touched her palm and clasped it tighter
"Saanvi. If you find me like others. Who's desperately searching for another girl when they'd a painful break up then let me make it clear. I'm not. I never believed that love exist in earth like you do. But when I met Maya I realized that I'm wrong. One can feel like this too. Maya and I..We had dreams and she walked away from my life. Shattering all of them. We had a painful breakup and almost for a month. I couldn't do anything without her. I came here. Cursing all the women. I believed that all are same. They make big promises and the end of the day. They'll leave us. But it was you who proved me wrong. Although I pretended that your antics irks me. Deep inside I loved it. I loved your presence. You helped me to come out the pain I had inside. Remember it was you kept saying that I deserve someone far better than Maya and that someone is you. Jo Jo was the first one who made me realise that I was falling in love with you. I didn't want it to happen and that's why I sent you away in the name of studies. But soon I realized that I couldn't stay away from you so long. I don't know how. How it happened. But I'm in love with you. I'm in love with you Saanvi"
He took a deep breath as tears sneaked out from his eyes
"I don't know how you feel about me Saanvi. But right now. Don't leave me. I won't be able to take it"he said and looked at her. Found her in Tears.
She pulled him closer for a tight hug. He hugged her back without any hesitation. Both felt tears. In each others embrace
"I won't leave you Roy. I won't"
She broke the hug slowly yet she was in his arms. He joined their foreheads with their nose touching each others.
"I just need you by my side. Remember I will never force you Saanvi"he said making her smile
"Time over"John barged in at the right moment and found the duo in each others arms. He smiled and blushed at the same time.
"Sorry. You both are adorably cute"he said walking towards him.
"Always at the wrong time"Roy giggled
"Come lizard"Saanvi pulled him by his wrist and trio had a tight group hug.

Roy descended downstairs with a smile fixed in his lips. He realised that the lights were switched off and he wondered where they disappeared. Suddenly a small light hit the wall from somewhere and a small video started playing in the project. His smile widened when he saw his childhood pictures running in the video.
Half of them were with John and then with his parents and cousins. He chuckled when he saw a pic taken in his 5th birthday. With John besides him. Their faces smeared with cream.
Finally the video came to an end with a note

You grew up too fast. And always made us proud. Remember mumma and Papa are always with you. No Matter what

The lights came on. And he saw his parents standing before him. Along with John. He smiled with tears and hugged all of them.
"Your birthday gift"John said giving him a small box and he'd made out of it that it will a watch.
"Looks expensive"he rolled his eyes
"Does that really matter?"John grinned and hugged him again
"Come. We've a surprise for you"Annie and Mathew grabbed his hands together and took him outside. He opened his mouth in surprise as soon as the new car came into his view.
"Mumma?"
"You liked it?"
"God..was this necessary?"
"We've been planning this for so long"Mathew said side hugging him
"You both are the best"
"I'm here"Saanvi said walking inside with a huge cake. Followed by Arjun , Kavya and Arya
"Happy birthday Roy"Arya squealed giving a small packet to Roy.
"Thank you my angel"he said kissing her cheeks. She giggled. He hugged her followed by Arjun and Kavya.
"Let's cut the cake. We are hungry"Arya and John said in unison while others laughed
He cut the cake and fed each one of them. The family had a great time. They had dinner together and gathered in the hall. Roy excused himself after a minute and walked back to his room followed by Saanvi
"Roy. Take us for a drive in Your new car"Saanvi said excitedly walking inside the room with the puppy. He smiled. She looked at him and saw his eyes filled up
"Hello sir..What happened?"
"I feel blessed Saanvi. I remember my last birthday. I spent the entire day with Maya while my parents were waiting for me to return back home. To celebrate my birthday. I reached home late. Very late and saw them sleeping in the hall which was decorated. An untouched cake in the front of them. I died with guilt that day. I felt stupid about myself for not spending enough time with them"he sighed
"Why are you feeling sad Roy? Now see how happy they are"she said and he nodded with a smile
"Btw..what will he name him?"she asked caressing the puppy. Trying to divert the topic
"We will name him Garuda..Nice know?"she asked making him face Palm himself
"Not again Saanvi. I'll think about any other name"he said and she pouted. He took the puppy from her arms and caressed it
"I will call him alzhar"he said making her smile
"Superb. Take care of it okay? This is our baby till we make a real one"she giggled and left the room leaving him dumbstruck.
