"Come on, please!" Harrison whined, flashing me his blue eyes over Facetime. I groaned and flopped onto my bed in response.
"The guy hates my guts, why would I go to his house for a pool party?" I sighed.
"Don't be silly, he doesn't hate you. What even happened to you two? You two used to be as close as we are." He spoke. I sighed and shrugged, still holding my phone up as I lay on my front on my bed and held my head up with my hand.
"He changed. He became a big-shot actor and left me behind." I gulped, looking down.
"Oh, come on, Y/N, he didn't do that. The Tom that you're describing is vastly different to the Tom that I know." He nodded.
"That's because the Tom that you know is still on speaking terms with you." I nodded as I looked down again. Due to the fact that Tom's mum, Harrison's mum, and my mum had been best friends when they were pregnant with us, we had all been best friends from the moment that we were born. The three of us had grown up together and had done everything together, obviously leading me (as the only girl in the group) to develop a crush on one of the boys, the one chosen being the lanky brunette boy that had been Tom. At times, I had even suspected that he felt the same, but that had never been confirmed. But everything changed one day. After a brilliant twenty years of being inseparable, Tom decided one day that he didn't want anything to do with me anymore, ending our two-decade-long friendship with a single text, and leaving Harrison to pick up the pieces. Since that day, three years ago, I hadn't said a word to Tom, and had barely seen him since either. It was a fact that had broken my heart, especially as I still had feelings for the boy, but if he wasn't willing to make it work, neither was I.
"You still there, mate?" I snapped out of my thoughts at the sound of Harrison's voice. I looked at the screen.
"Yeah...who else is there? I love you, but I need more than just one person to act as a buffer in case you leave the room and leave us alone." I nodded.
"Pfft, I would never do that." The boy scoffed, making me raise an eyebrow at him.
"Okay, fine, I one-hundred-percent would, but that doesn't matter because I'm not the only one here. The twins are here, as is Tuwaine, and I can almost guarantee that in a house with five lads, you're more likely to get hit by lightning than find yourself alone with Tom." He chuckled and nodded.
"And Tom agreed to this, did he? He agreed to let me come to the pool party and stay overnight?" I questioned, raising my eyebrow sceptically.
"Not at first, but everyone else wanted you to come, so he begrudgingly agreed." He nodded.
"Oh, great. I'll come to the house of my ex-best friend who doesn't really want me there but is letting me stay because everyone else wants me there." I mumbled.
"Please, Y/N? I know that I'm a guy but it's getting really old really quickly having no girls in the house, we need a girl." He whined.
"Dude, I'm like a sister to everyone in that house, do you realise how weird that sounds?" I laughed.
"Ew, I didn't mean it like that, I mean that even I'm starting to notice the elevated levels of testosterone. Please, please, please, come over." He nodded. I sighed and looked into the camera, chuckling and shaking my head as Harrison put on his best pout.
"Fine, fuck you, I'll come." I nodded as I stood up and grabbed my suitcase.
"Yes! Thank you so much, I love you!" he exclaimed.
"Love you too, asshole." I chuckled before shoving some clothes and a couple of swimming suits into my suitcase before closing it.
I knocked on Tom's front door and waited for a response. It opened to reveal Tom, making my smile dip as he rolled his eyes and immediately went to shut the door again.
"Hey, I was invited, asshole." I scoffed as I put my hand on the door to stop him and walked in.
"Yeah, but not by the person who actually owns the house." He fake-smiled, making me roll my eyes as Harrison appeared from the living room.
"Y/N, finally!" he laughed, making me smile as he leant down and hugged me tightly.
"Where's everyone else?" I asked as Harrison took my suitcase and the three of us walked through to the kitchen.
"Never mind." I chuckled as I walked in to see the twins and Tuwaine sat at the marble island.
"Ey! It's our favourite Y/L/N!" Harry laughed, making me return it as he stood up and hugged me.
"And it's my favourite Holland twins." I returned as I hugged Sam too.
"No, no, flattery only works when you have someone to compare your favourite to, so it doesn't count since we're the only set of Holland twins." Sam teased.
"Yeah, whatever, take what you can get, Holland." I smiled, hugging Tuwaine too before looking around.
"Wow. This is a nice place." I nodded in approval as I admired the open-plan kitchen that extended to the living room.
"That's because it's nicer than anything that you can afford." Tom scoffed cockily as he crossed his arms over his chest, making me gulp as I tried not to focus on how good his biceps looked over being angry at the comment. Harrison rolled his eyes before thumping Tom on the back of the head, making the boy flinch.
"Ow." He mumbled.
"Let me show you to your room, mate." Harry offered, making me give him a small smile as he took my suitcase and started to walk past Tom. I gulped and looked down as I passed the boy, not wanting to look at him as I followed Harry up the stairs and into my designated room.
I stood in my room, looking into the full-length mirror that sat against the door. I nodded to myself, admiring how the crimson bikini looked against my skin.
"Y/N? You ready?" I heard Harrison's voice, a knock on the door accompanying it.
"Coming." I replied as I opened the door. Harrison's eyes widened slightly as he saw me.
"Damn, girl. You trying to impress someone?" he chuckled as we headed downstairs.
"Don't be weird." I replied, rolling my eyes playfully at the boy as we headed through the house and into the back garden, where all of the other boys were already in the pool. As we walked out, Tom looked up, and I gulped slightly as his eyes widened and he swallowed harshly, his eyes raking up and down my mostly exposed body.
"You coming in?" Sam yelled from the pool.
"In a bit, you boys have your fun." I nodded, giving them a smile as I lay down on one of the sun loungers and put my sunglasses on, breathing out a sigh of bliss as I relaxed into the rare heat of the British sun.
I lay on the sun lounger, soaking in the sun as the boys played in the pool. I looked up and smiled at Harrison as he walked towards me.
"Not fancy a dip yet?" he asked, grabbing the towel that was on the sun lounger next to me before sitting down on it, his body facing me.
"Nah, I'd prefer to work on my tan." I shrugged. He nodded before glancing over his shoulder. He stayed like that for a moment before looking back at me.
"Can I ask you something, Y/N?" he asked. I looked at him and nodded.
"Do you still have feelings for Tom?" he asked. My eyes widened and I sat up slightly, resting on my elbows.
"W-what are you talking about?" I gulped.
"Relax, dude, just because I know doesn't mean that Tom does, or that he ever has." He reassured. I sighed, biting my lip as I looked at Tom. I gulped, my heartbeat slightly increasing at the mere sight of his hazel curls wet from the pool water. Only I could still have a crush on a guy who hated my guts.
"Is that what the comment before was about? About me trying to impress someone?" I asked, making Harrison smirk and nod.
"M-maybe I do, I'm trying to figure it out. Why?" I asked, looking at Harrison.
"Because he's been looking at you pretty much non-stop since you came outside. We were playing water footie, and Sam scored, like, four goals, just because Tom was too busy looking at you to properly defend the goal." He stated. My eyes widened slightly.
"You think that he likes me back?" I scoffed.
"I'm not saying that, because he's a horny twenty-three-year-old guy who hasn't had sex in god knows how long and he's got the pleasure of looking at a beautiful girl in a bikini, obviously he's going to stare a little. But, we've had a lot of beautiful girls in bikinis around here in the last couple weeks, and he's never once looked at any of them like he's been looking at you." He shook his head. I sighed and nodded, subtly looking at Tom through my sunglasses as I lay back down on the lounger.
"Just out of curiosity...how long has he looked like that for?" I asked, nodding towards the boy and trying not to focus on how amazing his abs and body looked with the chlorinated water glistening against his skin. Harrison followed my gaze as he looked over his shoulder at Tom.
"What, with the six-pack and everything? Dude, he's been in shape for ages, how have you never seen him like that before?" he chuckled.
"Well, I've seen him like that in his movies and stuff, but not in person. Think about it, Haz, he ended our friendship just before he left to start filming "In the heart of the sea" and he definitely didn't look like that then." I mumbled, staring at him as he laughed and threw a ball at his brothers.
"Down, girl." Harrison teased. I rolled my eyes and lightly slapped his arm, making him smirk and shake his head as he picked up his phone and looked down at it. His smile immediately dipped.
"Shit, we need to turn the news on, get them out of the pool." Harrison nodded as he shot up and into the house. My eyes widened and I stood up.
"Guys, apparently something big is happening, we need to watch the news." I spoke.
"Stop ruining our fun." Tom mumbled, making me roll my eyes as the other three got out of the pool. I followed them into the house as Harrison clicked the news on. My eyes widened as the banner "Breaking news: PM announces country going into official lockdown" flashed up onto the bottom of the screen.
"Oh, fuck no." Sam groaned, Harrison holding his hands behind his head as Tom walked in.
"What's going on?" he asked.
"The PM's officially put us into lockdown, because of the virus." Tuwaine nodded.
"For how long?" Tom asked.
"Three weeks." Harrison mumbled. My eyes widened.
"Three weeks?! I can't stay here for three weeks!" I exclaimed.
"Looks like you have to." Harry nodded.
"I never thought that I'd say this, but I agree with Y/N, I'm not having her here for the next month." Tom scoffed and shook his head, making me roll my eyes at him.
"Mate, she has to. Not only is she not allowed to go anywhere, but her parents are high risk, so she can't go home. She has nowhere else to go." Harrison shrugged.
"Trust me, Tommy, I'm no happier that I've got to spend the next month here than you are." I scoffed. His eyes widened slightly.
"What did you just call me?" he mumbled. My eyes widened as I realised what I'd said. Back when we were best friends, "Tommy" had been the nickname that I, and only I, was allowed to call him. Even Tom's past girlfriends hadn't been allowed to call him that. But obviously, the name hadn't slipped my lips since Tom broke off our friendship. Until now.
"Awkward." Harrison muttered, making us both shoot him a glare.
"I need to call my parents, I should see if they're okay. See you guys at dinner." I nodded as I started to leave the room. I glanced over my shoulder as I left, swallowing hard as Tom's gaze was still on me as I turned the corner and headed up the stairs.
