"Shit..." I mumbled under my breathe.
You know how when you finally get something good, someone always tries to mess it up for you. Well that was my case right now.
It turns out my ex Kira has literally been stalking Violet and I since we started dating.
So today when Violet left my place to go back to the hostel Kira showed up right after. Talking about how I'm hurting her feelings by moving on so quick-(mind you we've been apart months now and honestly even when we were together it was nothing as serious as I have with violet now).
Knowing her I didn't wanna let her in my place cos I knew she would try something with me so I took her somewhere public, to clear up her whole misunderstanding and hopefully get her to live me alone.
I don't need her messing up everything I have with Violet over some jealousy fit, so I was tryna fix that.
We went to this new place called Dine cos its close to my place and since it's new I thought no familiar faces would show up there but life is always tryna play tricks on me so imagine my surprise when I saw Violet.
I could see tears weld up in her eyes as she starred at us before she rushed towards the bathroom and I already knew I fucked up.
I was in a faze at this point trying to figure out how I'm about to explain this to her but this just looked shady as hell. In the process I zoned out Kira who was still talking or pretty much yelling at me at this point.
"De-von... I'm talking to you." She said putting emphasis on my name and clapping her hands in my face at every word she says. I was so over her messing things up for me. I had respect for her cos she played a part in my life at one point, but right now I just wanted her out.
" Joh. Can you like shut up for a second, like you ain't seen my girl just saw us right now and she obviously thinks otherwise. So here's the obvious. I'm done with you and I would highly appreciate it if you don't come around anymore.
I ain't gon' tell you twice Kira, and you know I aint playing. "
I grabbed my wallet and put a 100 bill on the table while her mouth hung open and she starred at me blinking non-stop.
I shook my head before standing up and heading for the bathroom.
Getting inside girls starred at me like I was an alien or sum' and I just ignored them looking around for Violet.
I saw her comeout a stall and she looked like she been crying, when she met eyes with me and attempted to go back inside but I held the door back before going inside.
I expected her to immediately start shouting at me when I got in but she just stared at me blankly which made it harder for me to try and explain this.
"Babe it's not what it looks like..."
Again I expected her to shout or respond but she just stood there looking fed up with me.
"Babe she was stalking us and she's just trying to mess up what we have but I didn't wanna allow that that's why I brought her hear to get her to understand that I'm over it."
Still nothing and I was hella confused at this point I mean was she not mad at me.
" Talk to me babe... Please. Say something. "
" What do you want me to say Devon! I mean we just started dating and even before that this girls always been showing up and now I see you here with her and it's... nothing. I'm just supposed to believe you. Let's say I do believe you then why did you lie?"
At this point I was just glad she's talking to me honestly.
" What lie b-"
I was cutoff before I could even finish.
" Don't even. You said you was gonna, stay home, play games with Jamal and go to bed. Why didn't you just tell me the truth. "
" Cos I didn't want you to doubt me. I just wanted to solve this and not have to deal with it again."
"Well now I doubt you, I wouldn't have if you were just straight up honest with me though."
"Aight, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for shit to turnout like this." I confessed just wanting this to be over.
"Okay."
That's it, I thought to myself. I mean I'm glad, it's just females are so confusing. I donno if she's still mad or just dismissing me. But hey,I'm not complaining.
"Aight you guys ate yet?" I said assuming she came with her friend.
"No, but I lost my appetite I'm just gonna get take aways and head home."
"So you not coming to sleepover today?" I asked smiling knowing I'm pushing my luck at this point.
Rolling her eyes she tried to hide the smile creeping on her face before she pushed past me to walkout the stall. "No" I heard her mumble as she walked before I grabbed her hand and we walked back into the restaurant.

After getting takeaways and dropping the girls off at the hostel I made my way back home. I was bummed that Violet didn't wanna spend the night at my place today but I guess I need to give her space.
Getting home I sat on the couch and scanned through my tv channels noticing nothing good was on, I turned it off. I decided to check my mail and I instantly became high reading a notified mail I just got.
So being in business class you learn alot about how to increase your money - literally. So a few months ago I started investing my money from my part time job and some of my savings into businesses.
I just wanted to see where it goes not really expecting much in return. But now one of the companies I invested in just got a major boost so I was about to get a huge payout.
I already knew what I wanted to do. Take a cash out and start my own business ( my plan for this year) and I was just about to make it happen.

A week later.
Saturday
It's been a week since I last saw Devon.
A week without sleeping at his place and a week since the whole incident at the restaurant.
A part of me knew he was being genuine but the other part just didn't want to let it go that easily.
He calls me every day and we talk about everything, he told me about starting his business ventures which I thought is great.
I miss him.
So I was finally ready to let up and see him.
I've been focusing on Varsity alot this days, and spending time with Cammy so it wasn't a completely bummed out week.
Packing my overnight bag Cammy and I sang along to our favorite 2pac song.
"I can't believe your living me for him again."
Cammy Joked giving me a pout face.
"C'mon don't do that I spend the week with you besfren. Besides I'm coming back soon to checkout the apartment with you."
Cammy and I decided to move to a downtown apartment. The reason we stayed at the hostel was cos it was closer to campus and we wouldn't have to take ubers to school. But now my mom bought me a car-an Audi A5. Since my dad got better the expenses at home were cut short so my mom could afford to spoil me a bit.
We needed more space and thought it's better we just move. So we were checking the place out on Monday.
"Right.Imma miss you though." She said coming over to hug me.
I was done packing and I was about to live.
"My lil baby." I coeed giving her a hug before I grabbed my bag and left.

Walking into D's condo I felt a sense of nervousness comeover me.
I opened the door and spotted him sitting on one of the island stools with his head in his phone before looking my way. A smile creeped up on his face as he stared at me.
He was dressed only in blue champion sweatpants with no shirt on and his hair was in four neat braids going back. He always managed to look good without even trying- and just like that I couldn't even be mad at him anymore.
Standing up, he walked towards me and wrapped his arms around my waist as he starred me down smiling.
"You been avoiding me huh?"
"I just been busy babe..." I lied looking everywhere around the room but at him.
"Then why you doing that?"
He chuckled still starring me down.
" You always avoid eye contact with me when your lying. You still mad at me? "
"I was, not anymore."
I said honestly finally looking at him.
"Aight, gimme a kiss..."
"I missed your stubborn ass."
He mumbled, our lips still connected.
"Shut up, I'm not even stubborn.
I'm hungry you got food?"
I asked already walking towards the fridge.
"You always hungry dawg.Im about to order a pizza though."
"Extra cheese babe."
"I know, you spending the night though right?"
"Yeah, I'm bout' to take a shower though."
Heading for the shower,I stripped off my clothes before gathering my hair products. I needed to do my curly hair routine today so I was just getting that out the way.
After getting my hygiene together I threw on a cute lounge wear-
And my fury slides before heading into the room.
Devon was now laid on the bed doing something on his phone as usual.
He starred me down smirking as I made my way towards the beds.
"You look cute, you tryna start some shit babe."
I said nothing as I straddled him down and laid my head on his chest, just relaxing my body while he ran his hand through my curls.
Just when I was about to have a quick nap the doorbell rang and I groaned getting off him. Devon lowly laughed at me while standing up as if something was funny.
"It's just the pizza guy babe, I'll get it."
Slipping on my slides I followed right behind him cos a girl was hungry and he already ruined my nap anyways.

After pizza we laid in bed literally just listening to each other's heartbeats as he laid his head on my stomach. And if that wasn't corny enough, what ended up becoming our song , better by Khalid blasted through his room speakers as we slowly but surely drifted off to sleep.
Or so I thought. Before he spoke up.
"I love you..."
He said without ever looking up at me and I just froze in position as my heart raced in my chest.
