"A job? Here at the Butterfly Estate?" You asked, brushing Kanao's hair. After lunch, you all went into Kanae's room to hang out since there was nothing else to do.
"Yes! I wanted to ask you if you wanted to work here!" Said Kanae, braiding Naho's hair. "Considering that Shinazugawa-san is a demon slayer and I believe that your brother is also training to become one?" You nodded, confirming her question. "Then, that's the more reason to work here!"
"But I already have a job." You said, making a braid on Kanao's hair. "I work for a seamstress in our hometown."
"Then, how about when your contract ends with her, come work here!"
"Please! That way we can still see each other every day!" Said Mitsuri, playing with Aio's hair.
"You don't need to come to the field since it's mostly the Demon Slayer's and Kakushi's jobs to do so." Shinobu explained, Kiyo putting flower pins on her hair. "You will be here in the estate with the rest of the girls."
"That way we can always be together!" Sumi cheered from behind you, combing your hair.
"Okay!" You agreed. "Since my brother will be a demon slayer next year and Mui is also a demon slayer, I think that it's better that I work here... and..."
"And?" They all asked with a smirk. "And what?"
"And... I would see..." You trailed off, your face heating up when you realized what you were about to say. 'I would see Sanemi more...' You smiled, thinking of being able to see the guy you loved.
"Do you like Shinazugawa-san, (Y/N)-chan?" Mitsuri asked, leaning over, excited for your answer, the other girls as well. You nodded. Mitsuri and Kanae let out a cheer, excitement bubbling inside them.
'But don't they live with each other?' Shinobu and Aoi wondered.
"Ohh~ Is (Y/N)-san and the Wind Hashira going to get married!?" The three girls asked, even Kanao faced you with a curious aura.
You shrinked into your palms, red to your ears. 'M-m-m-married!? I haven't even thought that far yet! I still haven't even told him my feelings yet!' You were internally screaming, your mind going overheat at the thought of getting married. 'I mean... I do want to...'
"You want to get married to him?"
"...Yes..." You answered without knowing. Only when the girls started to shriek and clap that you realized what you said. "I said that out loud didn't I?" Kanao nodded.
"Let's give (Y/N)-chan a makeover for her future husband!" Kanae cheered as you were suddenly held in your arms, both Shinobu and Misturi beside you. The girls then got up and returned with a box of makeup, Aoi was holding a few kimonos and Kanao had a box of hair accessories.

'Where the hell did (Y/N) go?' Sanemi walked around the butterfly mansion, Koichi following behind him looking like a mummy ready for burial. He was at a lost cause until they bumped into a Kakushi. "Oi, where's (Y/N)?"
"Y-yes! Kanae-sama and her guests are currently in her room!" They answered. "I-I'll lead you!" The walk was quiet, it made the Kakushi nervous and scared. After the scene in the cafeteria, the Kakushis' were terrified to be near the Wind Hashira at the moment. "P-please continue here and her room will be at the end." With that, the Kakushi bolted.
Sanemi and Koichi continued their walk and made it in front of a shoji, laughter coming from the other side. And hell he loved the sound of your laughter from the other side. 'I really need to get my shit together.' He thought and knocked. "(Y/N)?"
He heard a loud shriek from the other side, a few shuffling later, the shoji opened and Kanae peered her head with a smile. "Just wait for a few more moments and (Y/N)-chan will be with you shortly!" She slammed the door close, leaving Sanemi and Koichi wondering what it was all about.
A few shouting from the inside later, the little girls opened the door again, this time it was Mitsuri standing in front, blocking his view from inside. "Shinazugawa-san! I present you, (Y/N)-chan!"
It seemed like Sanemi's breath got stuck on his throat, he opened his mouth to say something but no words came out. Only one thought on his head, 'Beautiful...'
You were wearing a pink kimono with different flowers, courtesy of Misturi, she was the one who picked it. You also had light makeup on, just a tint on your lips, a light blush and a shadow on your eyes, thanks to the hard work of Shinobu and Kanae. Your hair was styled into a bun with two steaks on the front, curled with a few accessories, thanks to the girls.
"So, what do you think?" Mitsuri asked the still frozen Sanemi. You were fidgeting, a bit nervous that what you were wearing might not look good on you.
So many thoughts circled your mind, 'Maybe the make up was too much. Or maybe the color wasn't good. Or the hairstyle was-'
"You look beautiful." Sanemi whispered. You didn't know when, but he was right in front of you, holding onto your hand and kissing it lightly. Your eyes were wide, heart going 100 miles an hour, your whole world going in a different direction. "Let's go home, (Y/N)." His voice was soft and calm, muting the shrieks of your friends.
"O-okay..." You nodded shyly, heading out of Kanae's room and waving them goodbye.
'Alright, forget about me. It's not like I'm important or anything!' Koichi taught bitterly, following after you and Sanemi. He saw how you were fidgeting with your sleeves, holding into Sanemi's hand. Sanemi, on the other hand, was calm and quiet. Something that never happens. 'Just ask her out already.'

"I... I-I'll see you tomorrow, Sanemi." You smiled from behind the gates. It was already night time and it was time for Sanemi to leave for his job, and like usual you were seeing him out.
"T-take care, (Y/N)..." He whispered. Sanemi scratched the back of his head, still new to this affection thing. "I'll see you tomorrow..." For the first time in a long time, Sanemi didn't think he'd be hugging someone.
It didn't take long though, he immediately broke it and left, slamming the door behind him. He walked away, gripping his beating chest. 'Holy shit, fuck, hell, aadfkvjfds. I just did that!? Oh lord...' He stopped, looking into the night sky. 'I need to focus first...'
As usual, he did his usual patrol, looking for any demon lurking in the area. He stopped walking and sighed for the hundredth time that night. He was worried as much as he was happy seeing the girl of his affections accepting him.
He knew his time was counted.
Being a demon slayer means every night when you go out, your life would be on the line. Humans are not like demons. They couldn't regenerate lost limbs, they couldn't heal fast if they were injured. Pillars were also humans, they could and will die if they get injured and lose too much blood.
Every single demon slayer already has a will prepared, be it pillar or not. He was no exception.
He liked- no, loved the thought of being with you, but he knew that things might go downhill. His goal wasn't complete yet. He still has zero information on his brother, he vowed that he will protect him until the end of his life.
So, why not add two more people he would fight for, or maybe...
one more in the future.
"For god's sake, I'm way into this love shit." He grumbled, kicking a pebble from the ground. If only you two had met under different circumstances, maybe he would've... asked for... "GAAAHHH!!! I fucking hate this shit!"
But he knew he had to face his affections sooner or later. Death was right around the corner, he needed to make his move or he'd regret it. Losing family was one, losing his friend was the second one. He did not want to make a third one.
