"I have popcorn." I smiled, carrying the bowl into the living room.
"Aw, yes, sweetheart." Peter chuckled from the sofa. I returned it as I sat down next to him, smiling to myself as he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer. When I had gotten superpowers three years ago, Tony Stark had recruited me to join the Avengers. And that had been where I had met Peter. I had instantly fallen in love with the doe-eyed and wavy-haired boy, and soon we had become inseparable. After a few months, I suspected that Peter felt the same, little moments like holding hands and his arm over my shoulder when watching TV making me want more than friendship, but I hadn't said anything in fear of losing Peter as a friend if he didn't feel the same way. Everything changed when one day, we had a mission in which Peter was nearly shot. I had run into the room where he was fighting a bad guy to see him on the floor, a gun pointed at him. I had used my powers to send the guy flying through the wall, saving Peter's life. He had looked at me in shock, a look of love and adoration in his eyes. He had shot up to his feet and rushed towards me. He had taken my face and had kissed me gently, making fireworks go off in my mind. Since that moment, two years ago, Tony gave us one night a month to have the Avengers' Tower living room all to ourselves, for a night of movie binging and snacks. Tonight, was that night.
"What movie did you pick?" I asked, cuddling into his side as he grabbed the remote.
"The Last Jedi." He smirked, laughing as I groaned loudly and rolled my head onto his shoulder.
"We've watched that movie every date night for the last half a year." I huffed, my nose in his neck.
"Oh, come on, it's a good movie, I know that you secretly love it, you just don't want to be branded a nerd." He chuckled.
"Yeah, because why would I want to be associated with your kind?" I teased.
"Ha, ha, you love me really." He smiled before leaning down and kissing me gently. I returned it, holding his cheek to pull him closer. Suddenly, alarms started to blare throughout the Tower, the red lights flashing.
"Oh, come on." Peter groaned as we broke the kiss and looked around as everyone rushed through the living room.
"I know that it's date night, but that doesn't get you out of a mission, move your asses!" Steve yelled as they ran through.
"Saved by the bell." I chuckled, taking Peter's hand and pulling him up.
"Hey!" he exclaimed, poking my side and making me laugh as we ran into Tony's robotics lab with the others. Tony grabbed a remote and turned on the plasma TV, making Nick Fury's face appear on the screen.
"Fury, nice to see you. What's up?" Tony asked.
"We've located another HYDRA compound, about twenty minutes outside of New York. I'll send you the coordinates in just a moment." He spoke before his eyes drifted to Peter.
"What's wrong with him?" he scoffed. Everyone looked at Peter, making him huff.
"Your call interrupted their date night." Natasha chuckled.
"Oh, young love. See you guys soon." He nodded before the screen went black.
"Alright, everyone suit up and meet at the jetti in ten minutes. Go." Tony demanded. Everyone nodded and rushed off to their rooms, Peter and I going together as our rooms were next to each other. I ran into my room and quickly threw my black catsuit on. I pulled it on, the fabric far too baggy around me, but that changed when I pressed the purple diamond that sat on my chest, making it tighten against my skin. I grabbed my black eye mask and put it on before running out. Peter joined me, both of us sprinting down the hall towards the helicopter pad on the roof, in our suits.
"Everyone on, let's go." Tony yelled from the open door of the jetti. Peter and I ran on and took our seats, strapping ourselves in as the door closed and we raised into the air.
"Alright, here's the plan." Tony spoke as we hunched around the table on the plane.
"Y/N, you're going to cause a distraction. There should be some barrels or something that you can throw, but if there's something bigger, throw that." He demanded. I nodded in response.
"Peter, whilst Y/N is distracting the men, you swing onto the roof, you're getting in undetected so that we have a secret weapon." He spoke again.
"Oh, nice, I'm the secret weapon." Peter smiled.
"Don't get too flattered, kid, you're a literal twig, so you're silent." Steve chuckled.
"Hey, I have fucking abs!" Peter countered.
"Anyway, the rest of us will just run in the front door after the distraction. Is everyone clear?" Tony asked, making everyone nod and murmur in agreement.
"Alright. Let's go." He nodded as the doors opened. We all rushed out of the jetti and into the woods that surrounded the compound. I ran towards the compound, crouching down as I hid in the trees.
"Everyone in position?" Natasha asked in my ear.
"I'm good." I nodded as Peter appeared next to me, also crouching down in the trees.
"So am I." Peter mumbled.
"Alright. Y/N, go." Tony spoke. I nodded to myself before taking a deep breath and closing my eyes. I opened them again, my eyes now purple as laces of lilac started to swirl in my palms. I raised my hands, the energy spreading to the trucks that sat in the compound. They wrapped around the trucks, making them start to rise into the air.
"What the fuck?" I heard one of the HYDRA guards mumble. I took that as my cue as I slammed my arms down, bringing the trucks crashing down with the movement.
"Go, go, go!" Steve yelled into my ear as Peter released a web and flung himself towards the building. I ran out of the woods, along with Tony, Steve, Natasha and Clint. I raised my hands, firing balls of energy at the HYDRA guards and knocking them down gradually as we ran into the compound. Steve threw his shield at the guards, knocking them down as Tony flew through the compound, doing the same thing. I sprinted through the base with Natasha, moving my arms every few seconds and sending the guards into the walls to clear our paths.
"Where am I going?" I asked.
"Anywhere with guards, just take them all out." Tony spoke into my ear.
"Copy that." I nodded to myself, turning left down a corridor as Natasha ran straight ahead. I slammed my hands down onto the floor, sending a wave of energy through and making all of the doors fly open. Immediately, men started to run out, shouting and yelling as they fired their guns at me. I flicked my wrist, sending half of them into the walls as I sent a ball of energy towards the final few, knocking them out too. My eyebrows furrowed as I noticed the door at the end of the corridor that was somehow still closed.
"What the fuck?" I mumbled to myself as I started to walk towards it. I turned the handle, but it wouldn't budge. I rolled my eyes to myself, hating using my powers for something so small as I flicked my wrist, sending my energy into the lock. My eyebrows furrowed as it stayed closed.
"Guys, I think that I found something. There's a door here that I can't unlock, even with my powers, something is wrong." I spoke into my comms.
"Leave it, then, we've cleared out the base and are ready to go, I doubt that it's anything important." Steve spoke into my ear.
"No, fuck that." I scoffed as I took a step back.
"Y/N, leave it, that's an order." I rolled my eyes as I took a step forward and rammed my foot into the door as hard as I could. It flew open, my eyes widening slightly as the only content was a chair with rope around it.
"What the fuck-." My eyes widened as a hand was placed over my mouth and an arm wrapped around my waist, making me start to release muffled screams as the guard lifted me up.
"Shut up, you little witch bitch." He growled in my ear before I felt a twang in my neck, and something being released into my blood. My eyes widened and I screamed more, but my pleas didn't make it past the gloved hand. I got quieter as the tranquiliser started to take effect, my eyes starting to droop as the guard carried me into the room and placed me down roughly onto the chair.
"Get...the fuck off...of me." I managed to say, raising my hand. But the liquid flowing through my veins meant that only a spark of my energy appeared.
"You're going to wish that you'd never interfered with us, little Avenger." The guard smirked, making me scowl at him as my eyes fluttered shut and the darkness took over.
Peter's P.O.V
"Guys, I'm on my way back to the ship now!" Peter yelled into his comms as he launched himself up onto the roof of the building before flinging himself towards the jetti. He landed a few feet away from the ramp and rushed on.
"That was awesome!" he laughed as he pulled his mask off, his hair messy as he looked around the ship. His eyebrows furrowed as he saw everyone but one person.
"Wait, where's Y/N?" he asked, looking at the others. They all gulped and looked at each other as the jetti started to lift from the ground. Peter's eyes widened.
"Where the fuck is Y/N?" he gulped.
"We don't know, kid." Tony admitted as he stood up and walked to him.
"What the fuck do you mean, you don't know?" he spat.
"We heard her scream into her comms, and then they were taken out. We searched the entire building for her, we can't find her and we're out of time. We need to go." Tony nodded.
"I'm going back, I'm not leaving her in that place." Peter shook his head before turning towards the ramp. His eyes widened as it was rapidly closing.
"NO!" he yelled, rushing towards it and hammering his fists against it as it closed.
"Bruce, open the ramp! Open it right fucking now!" the boy yelled, tears pricking his eyes.
"Hey, kid, listen to me." Tony spoke, grabbing his upper arms and making him look at him.
"We're going back for her, just not right now. We were out of time, HYDRA was going to send reinforcements and we wouldn't have been able to fight them all. But we will go back for her." Tony promised. Peter looked at him and clenched his jaw.
"Fine. But if she dies, so help me god. If the love of my life dies, it's on you." He nodded, a tear leaving his eye as he barged past Tony and sat down.
