There is much painful than getting rejected. It is when the person you love tells you about the person he adores. That pain is like a double-edge sword.
"I like Erin," Woozi confessed.
How will I react? I have two options: react as his friend, or react as a woman who is in unrequited love. Of course, the answer is clear.
"Really? Wow. Congrats Woozi! This is the first time you came to like someone," I responded. And then I gave him a smile that seems so genuinely sweet, though it wasn't real.
"Yeah. I just can't help it. Should I confess or not?" He sighed while looking up with those reddened cheeks as red as roses of spring.
Woozi is a cold guy. He rarely laugh, nor talk to anybody. For him, liking a girl is not an option but rather a waste of time; is what I thought so. As his chilhood friend, I was anticipating for this day, when he decided to open his heart. However, fate must be wick. Loving him was not in my plan. I did my best to get rid of this one sided love but too many attempt got failed.
"Hey Woozi, what are you doing?" I jumped into his bed and watched him do something with his laptop.
Without checking upon me, he answered, "I am composing a song."
A song? Why?
"For the music festival? Are you going to participate again?" I interrogated.
And he shared, "No. I am composing a song for Erin. I will give this after I confessed my feelings." Then he smiled with a little touch of shyness that unexpected pain rushes through me.
He never smiled this way, not until Erin came to his life.
"Oh I see," I sighed. "Then I'll go out. Do well on your song."
"Wait, wanna hear it?" he asked.
No way. Listening to that will worse the pain inside my chest. I am not ready to cry in front of him. He will tease or maybe I'll make a mistake by confessing.
"No. If you are giving it to Erin, she should be the first one who'll have the privilege to listen. I am going home. Bye."
One sided love is much painful when the person you like is always by your side. Indeed.
"Hey pig!" Woozi called me, so I stopped my pace and looked back. We are at the school's hallway.
"What?" I took off my earphone, facing him.
He took out a CD from his bag, and with an excited face like a child, he whispered, "I finished the song."
Then that means...
"Ohh that's good. When are you going to confess?" I said half-heartedly.
And he answered, "Today. Will you help me? Erin is your classmate. Come on help me." He even tug my uniform and act like a spoiled brat.
I yanked his hand away, then flattened my uniform. "Why should I? Be a man dude. Manliness doesn't come from height."
"You wanna die?"
"No. Anyway, why are you asking for a help? Just confess to her with all your might. If she rejects you then I am here to lend an ear and maybe... maybe laugh a little?"
It would be good if you really got rejected. Huh.
"I cannot confess inside our school. So I am asking you to tell her to meet me at the nearest playground next to the day care center." Again, he has those blushing cheeks and a hint of shyness deep within. Argh, I hate this.
"Okay fine. But I don't know if she is still here at the school or she already went home."
"I saw her at your classroom!"
Woozi is so dedicated on this. HMP!
"All right. Go there at the playground. I'm gonna pass your message." I walked back, dragging my feet on the ground.
"Hey thank you! After this! I'll treat you an ice cream!"
"Whatever."
Well, I heard ice cream can heal broken heart. Maybe it'll help.
Just what I promised I went back to our classroom and saw Erin inside. But she is not alone.
"I like you!" Erin yelled to the man sitting above my table.
I quickly hid and just took a peek. Than man she confessed to is Minghao. That guy is a rich, handsome and spoiled brat who is like a character from a bad boy novel. And what made him looks unreal is because he excelled in academics, sports and arts even though he sleeps all day in class and got known as a complete play boy.
I hate that kind of guy, really.
"If you really like me, then kiss me," he chuckled, smirking at Erin who is shaking in nervous. Well, confessing to someone is really hard and need a lot of courage.
Erin leaned closer. Then she cupped his cheeks and kiss him. I couldn't cover my eyes because I am still so surprised by the flow this scenes. So I just watch them, wide-eyed.
After getting kiss from Erin, Minghao wiped his lips and laughed. "I'm sorry. But you aren't a good kisser."
"H-Huh?" Erin gasped.
"Oh you didn't get it? It means I rejected you."
Evil!
He is really a bastard!
That innocent girl, that kind Erin, how could she fell in love with this crazy psycho?! I am getting mad just by watching them!
I saw those tears fell down from her eyes, glistening the warm light of the sunset. She picked up her bag and said, "Okay. I'm sorry. Thank you for giving me your time." Then she walked out from the back door.
How hurt she must be?
Actually, I am jealous by the fact that Woozi likes Erin. I even say bad things about her inside my head, basically because I am only envious. However, I can't help myself but to feel pity.
If I put myself in her case, imagining that it was Woozi who rejected me in such a harsh way, I might want to dig a hole and die in pain.
"Watching in secret is wrong, 'ya know?"
I lifted my head to that voice who approached me. OH MY GOSH! I got caught!
My feet are too late to escape as Minghao already pinned me on the wall. "Ahhhh," I winced. When I opened my eyes, I saw his small handsome face with a close gap. He is really handsome.
"Why are you watching us?" he interrogated.
What should I answer?
"Are you looking for me because you also want to confess your feelings?" he added.
This guy has an over flowing confidence to himself. Dude~
"Hey, answer me."
But wait. If Erin likes this guy, and Woozi likes Erin, that make three of them a love triangle. For this single moment, though it's hurt, I want to be a good friend.
"Yes, I like you," I answered. "Please go out with me sunbaenim." (sunbaenim= older person or older colleague)
Minghao blinked his eyes, quite confuse. "I was only joking but it became true. Really? You like me too?"
No. I do not. Not even a single percent. But...
"Yes. I really really really like you."
I already started with a lie.
"Then, kiss me," he answered.
What the hell?!
"Kiss me and I will decide if I'll go out with you or not."
This jerk is insane!
"Ahmmm about that. It is true that I like you but I don't want to kiss you," I blabbered, pushing his chest away.
"Eh?" he gasped. "But you like me? Liking me and wanting to kiss me are normal."
Over my dead body. I won't give my first kiss to a bastard like you.
"B-But y-you see, I am a weird person. I can like a guy without the urge of touching him, or kissing him. I hate skin ship. S-So, will you please move? You are too close."
Minghao didn't budge. Instead, he stared at me with a serious expression. And then... "Okay. I decided. Starting today, you are my girlfriend."
He said I am his girlfriend.
"Oka-"
Wait. What?!
"HA?!" I yelled.
"Don't be shock. For your information, I am weird too. And this is my way on how to decide if I should date a girl or not. You are so lucky that I choose you. Let's date tomorrow, my girlfriend." He winked at me and started to walk away.
What the hell!?
"Ahhh," he stopped and looked back. "What is your name?" he asked.
I suddenly got in a relationship with a guy who didn't even know my name. It is all started with a lie.
