Ren ended up exploring the new floor with Yuna. She asked if he wanted to tag along and he didn't see why not.
The first door is on their right. It's one of these strange doors that usually leads to an Ultimate Research Lab, this one has a rifle on it.
"This must be Endo's lab." Yuna states.
"That's pretty obvious." Ren tells her "Let's look inside."
They open the door and enter the lab. There are moving targets, things used to make traps and even extra ammo. There aren't extra rifles, but there are survival knives on the wall. Naomi and Tatsuya are inside.
"So this is what your lab is like." Yuna muses, looking around.
Naomi just looks not-impressed.
"There are less weapons that I expected." Ren states.
"Of course, there's much more to hunting than just shooting things." Naomi huffs "Especially setting traps is an essential skill for hunters."
"I'm glad that's the case, it would've been bad if there was a large supply of rifles here." Tatsuya thinks out loud.
"I don't like how many knives there are." Yuna places her hands on her hips.
"Knives could be obtained from the kitchen too." Ren points out.
"I suppose that's true." Yuna turns towards Naomi "But please keep an eye on those knives, Endo."
"Yeah, sure." The hunter agrees "Class Trials are a waste of time anyways, so I don't mind keeping the list of victims short."
"That's good enough for me. Let's go, Kimura."
Ren and Yuna leave Naomi's lab and turn left. They go through the door in that hallway which leads to dressing rooms. Ichiro and Ginjiro are there too.
The chess player looks at the machine gun hanging from the ceiling "Why is that here?"
"We've been trying to figure that out as well, but no luck so far." Ichiro responds.
"That's my cue!" Monokuma beams when he appears out of thin air.
Yuna places her hands on her hips "What are you doing here?"
"How rude, and I just came to provide an explanation." He sulks.
"An explanation would be nice." Ginjiro admits.
"Finally, someone who appreciates my efforts." Monokuma cries tears of joy before going back to his usual self "We don't want any peeping Toms here, so I took steps to prevent that. You have to swipe your student handbook over that card reader to enter a changing room. When someone tries to enter the changing room of the opposite sex, they'll have a bunch of holes in them."
The bear seems quite pleased with himself until Ichiro's realism ruins it "So what happens if you use someone else's handbook?"
Once he's recovered from shock Monokuma starts typing "A new rule, letting another student borrow your student handbook is prohibited." Then he goes back to looking smug "There, problem solved!"
"But what if you steal someone's handbook?"
Monokuma's self-esteem seems to be quite damaged by now "Using someone else's student handbook in general is prohibited!" Then he leaves before his pride can be crushed by the power hockey star again.
Yuna chuckles "Well, that was quite amusing."
Ichiro just shrugs "He made it too easy."
"I think it was hilarious!" Ginjiro laughs "We definitely need to tell the others about it later."
'That was indeed pretty funny.' Ren smiles. He bids the two boys goodbye before he and Yuna move on.
They leave the hallway and turn left again. They enter the hallway on their right and run into a pink door with hearts on it. Ren is about to walk away as fast as he can but Yuna drags him inside, claiming they shouldn't leave a room be without inspecting it first.
The room is just as pink as the door. Aika is relaxing in a fluffy armchair, a love seat is placed in front of it. There seems to be a bookshelf with books about topics that have to do with romance, flirting and relationships. There is even a whiteboard with names written on it, probably something Aika uses to keep track of the matches, Ren doesn't even want to know who's names are on it so he doesn't look.
Yukiji is flipping through the books in Aika's lab, though she doesn't seem to interested in what she's reading.
"Ah, Kimura-kun and Arita-chan, what brings you to my lab~?" Aika hops out of her armchair "Do you want to me to find you a match perhaps, hm?"
Before Ren can respond Yuna answers "No thanks, Yano. We just wanted to inspect it."
"Hm?" Aika tilts her head "Do you think I'm hiding weapons in my lab or something?"
They hear Yukiji dropping the book she was just reading. She stutters out a 'sorry' while picking it up.
"No, of course not, we just-" Yuna begins
Aika cuts the blonde off with a smile "Tee-hehe, relax I was just joking~"
Yuna grits her teeth "I agree with you, Kimura. Let's leave and stay away from this place." She turns on her heel and walks away.
Ren doesn't waste time following "Finally."
"Yeah, sorry for dragging you along there. That was a huge mistake." Yuna states bluntly. She sighs "I wish Yano would take things a little more seriously sometimes."
Ren hums in agreement as they turn right.
The door on their left is black with flames, the one on the right has music notes. They go through the first door.
When they enter they notice Maeko is already breathing fire. Kaida is standing a safe distance away from the redhead with a fire extinguisher in her hands, ready to put it out if things get out of hand.
When the firebreather is done with her little performance she rinses her mouth with water before grinning "How about that?"
Kaida puts the fire extinguisher down, sighing in relief "At least the place didn't burn down. But I have to admit, it looked pretty cool."
"I know right!" Maeko beams.
"That looked extremely dangerous." Yuna states.
"That's what makes it so fucking great!"
"I don't think we have to worry too much about the place burning down." Ren points at the ceiling "There seem to be sprinklers in case something goes wrong."
"Yup." Maeko pops the 'p' "Though they don't turn on until there's a fucking huge amount of smoke, otherwise I couldn't even breathe fire without being fucking drenched."
"That's pretty considerate." Kaida muses.
"And creepy." Ren states.
"Nah, it's nothing to worry about." Maeko brushes it off "It's common sense that you don't put normal sprinklers where someone practices fire breathing. That's just fucking stupid."
"Fair enough."
"Alright! Let's see if I can get a bigger flame this time!" Maeko beams before rushing to her supplies again.
"I'll make sure she doesn't burn it down anyway." Kaida smiles before she picks up the fire extinguisher again.
Ren nods "Bye, Matsui-san."
The calligrapher looks at him and smiles "Just call me Kaida."
The ravennette doesn't know why he smiles at her "Okay, Kaida, then please call me by my first name too."
"Sure!"
When they've closed the door Yuna speaks up "You an Matsui seem to get along really well."
"She's friendly." Ren admits.
Yuna mutters "I give up."
"What are you giving up on?" The chess player asks.
"Just pretend you didn't hear that."
Before Ren can question her again, the synchronised swimmer pushes the door with music notes open.
Haru is playing violin while Kagami is just leaning with her back against the wall and listening to the music, her eyes are closed.
The violinist seems to have noticed them because he stops playing "What brings you here?"
"We're just exploring." Ren answers.
Kagami, who has opened her eyes due to the lack of music, speaks up "You're good, Azuma-kun."
"Thank you, Fujioka."
Despite the friendly words, both teens still have a neutral expression on their faces.
Ren looks around. There's an empty violin stand, it's probably for the violin Haru is holding. Shelves with CDs are lining the walls and a CD player is stationed near a metal plate, where a window is supposed to be.
No other words are exchanged.
After leaving the room Ren and Yuna part ways, bidding each other goodbye. The latter goes to her own lab while the chess player returns to his room for the time being.
