Since day 1 of our trip, I've been telling dad in so many ways about Flavio and his treachery ngunit tinatawanan lamang niya ako at sinasabing huwag akong magbiro ng ganoon.

“Dad!” sabay na bulalas namin ni Juan.

“Your sick because I’m sure an external force interfered, duh.”
He shook his head at me. “No, listen children sooner or later I’ll be old enough and will stay in a casket whether you like it or not, gayunpaman mamamatay akong masaya dahil biniyayaan ako ng mga anak na gaya n’yo.”
John crossed his arms as he put down his iPad. “Daddy, malakas ka pa.”
Tumango. "I agree Juan plus masamang damo pa."
Napangiti si Daddy. “Who knows---”
I hate conversations like this. Dapat nga iwas stress hindi ba?
Kinuha ko ang cherry na nasa plato ni John at kinain iyon. “No more talking about ugly people and dying okay?” I chewed on the cherry and it was good kaya kinuha ko rin ang nasa plato ni daddy. “This tastes so good!”
Napatigili ako sa pagnguya nang mapansin na nakatingin silang dalawa sa akin, their lips slightly parting.
“What?” untag ko sa kanila at bahagyang naasiwa sa uri ng tingin nila sa akin.
“Sis, the last time I remembered you ate cherry is way back when I was in fifth grade and you cursed that much when the chef served your ice cream with a cherry on top. You hate cherries, you said they taste like lipgloss,” hindi makapaniwalang wika ni Juan.
Nang tumingin ako kay Daddy ay tango ang binigay niya sa akin, which signifies he agreed with what John just said.
Naaalala ko pa ang panahong iyon. I threw a tantrum at the event because I took a tiny bite on the cherry. I rolled my eyes and resumed chewing, “So? People change and there's change in preferences, duh. Maybe I like cherries now, but still they taste like lipgloss.”
They’re still giving me that weird looks though.
“Kumain na nga lang tayo para magawa na natin ang schedule natin ngayong araw, okay?” pag-iiba ko sa usapan.
Sabay silang tumango at nagpatuloy sa pagkain. I put healthy food on dad’s plate, ayon sa mga pwede lamang niyang kainin base sa payo ng doktor sa kanya. Matpos maglagay ng pagkain sa plato ni Daddy ay nagsimula na rin akong maglagay ng pagkain sa plato ko at kumain.
