You and Ben have been dating for over 3 years now. You were both in your early twenties and pretty successful in your career fields. Ben is doing great on Broadway, you are doing great with your writing. As you were walking around a tiny park hand and hand with each other you couldn't help but enjoy the moment. Ben looked down at you with his blue eyes and smiled brightly.
"Y/n, Um so listen, we need to talk..." Ben started letting go of your hand and stepping a bit in front of you and stopping. Your stomach dropped as his tone shifted and you didn't know how to feel. This was the point where most people either broke up or got married. Most of your friends ended up alone and you were so in love with Ben you didn't want to be without him.
"Ben," you started pausing yourself and watching him. He looked at his feet and shoved his hands into his pockets.
"So we've been dating for a while and well, I like us. I like us together a lot. I mean I love you."
As he continued you couldn't tell which direction Ben was headed. Ben was never this nervous unless it was something important.
"Well, y/n, I love you so much. You're the love of my life. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I wish everyone could experience the kind of love we have, and I hope that means that you will," Ben paused as he bent down to one knee, "spend the rest of your life with me?"
You couldn't speak. Everything was caught in your throat as tears filled your eyes. You couldn't help but just nod. Ben stood and pulled you close. Embracing you tightly. As he pulled away he held onto your hand, slipping the simple ring onto your hand. He held your head in his hands placing a gentle kiss on your lips.
"I love you forever," You whispered softly.
