It was a sunny afternoon. You were in the kitchen studying a cook book. You wanted to cook something for your boyfriend, Kyungsoo. You felt remorseful about the fact that it was always Kyungsoo who cooked meals for you. After all, cooking was suppose to be a girl's job right?
You took a long time to decide what you should cook. You wanted something delicious and simple, at least not so hard for a beginner like you.
All the while, you did not allow Kyungsoo to step into the kitchen. You locked him out of the kitchen.
"Jagiya, open the door ... " Kyungsoo banged on the door, his voice was drowned by your loud slamming of book onto the dining table.
You opened the door and asked him weakly, "What is it this time? This is the twelth time you have knocked on the door. I promise I won't burn the kitchen down ..."
Kyungsoo stared at you with his large round eyes, "Aniya, I just want ask if I am suppose to eat the food that you cook."
"Of course!" you said indignantly, "I am cooking because I want you to taste my cooking!" you said matter of factly, attempting to slam the door in Kyungsoo's face once more.
Kyungsoo held onto the door and said weakly, "Can the food that you cook be eaten?"
"YAH! Do Kyungsoo! Are you denying my ability to cook?" you slapped him in the arm, causing him to jump up in shock and let go of the kitchen door. Smiling in triumphant, you closed the door and shouted to Kyungsoo, "You should praise me for my bravery in attempting to cook!"
On the other side of the door, Kyungsoo sighed heavily and prayed for the safety of his cutlery and the fate of his kitchen.
Inside the kitchen, you had decided to cook a simple fried rice for Kyungsoo. You clapped your hands in the air and went to the refrigerator to find the ingredients needed.
You rummaged through the refrigetor, making a fine mess on the floor as you tore open plastic bags. You ignored the mess on the floor, the cleanig can wait. You stepped over the shreds of plastic bag on the floor, careful not to get any on your feet.
You had no idea that Kyungsoo was standing at the door, trying his best to peer through the key hole of the door and monitoring each and every move of yours. He grimaced everytime when you dirtied the spotless kitchen floor. He had just spent 2 hours cleaning and scrubbing the floor and now his efforts were all gone to waste.
You were too busy to notice Kyungsoo urge to knock down the door and rescue his kitchen, that was, in his perspective, tortured by you. You hummed a self-composed tune under your breath as you checked your cook book for the next step.
"Pour some oil onto the frying pan and wait for it to sizzle."
You turned on the gas tove and poured some oil onto the frying pan but your hands were shaking so much that you accidentally poured more oil into the frying pan than you had desired. The cooking oil overflow and there was a big blob of oil visible around the stove.
You grabbed a random rag that was laying in the kitchen and wiped the oil of the stove. Kyungsoo saw the whole scene and he facepalmed. That was not some random rag that was laying around, it was his hankerchief that he had misplaced. Just great, now his hankerchief would give off a weird smell of vegetable oil.
You were totally oblivious of Kyungsoo presence as you continued destroying the kitchen.
"Cut the garlic and put them in the sizzling hot frying pan to make your fried rice smell appetizing."
You took out the garlic and peeled the skin off before washing them under the running water. You were quite satisfied with your progress so far. You grinned to yourself as you thought of the great success that you were about to acheive.
Chopping the garlic was not a hard chore. Though you find it difficult to chop them into really small and fine pieces. You wondered how Kyungsoo managed all this so well.
Kyungsoo smiled as he saw your concentrated expression. "Pabo." he whispered while flashing his heart shape smile.
You had finished chopping the garlic, the next thing you would have to do was to put them in the frying pan. You took a few steps back away from the sizzling hot frying pan. You were afraid that you would get yourself burn as the cooking oil danced lively in the frying pan. Bits of the oil flew out of the frying pan, each flying further than the one before.
You jumped back as a droplet of oil touched your arm. You rubbed your arm in pain. The place where the oil had once been had turned red and blotchy.
"YAH!" you waved your spatula in the air threateningly as you shouted at the frying pan as tough daring the oil in it to attack you once more. Kyungsoo laughed at your silliness.
You smiled with satisfaction as the oil stopped flyinhg out. However, your victory was just temporarily as the oil launched another attack on you, this time hotter, further and more in quantity.
You screamed, running around the kitchen and dropping the spatula on the floor. Kyungsoo heaved a sigh and came into the kitchen. He calmly turned off the gas stove and asked, "How stupid can you get?"
"Ah, Kyungsoo, why are you here?"
Kyungsoo bend down and took a look at the injuries that you obtain from that vicious war against the oil. He pinched your cheeks, "If I am not here, you probably would be covered in oil now."
You scratched the back of your head in embarassment. "I just wanted to cook something for you ..."
"Jagiya, you don't need to do that. I don't mind cooking for you." Kyungsoo said, lifting up your head, forcing you to make an eye contact with him.
"But ..." you bit your bottom lips, "I feel so useless ... I want to do something and prove to you that I can cook and I am a qualified girlfriend."
"You're a qualified girlfriend." Kyungsoo said while wiping a tear off your face. "I don't need a chef, I just need you to be you."
"For real?"
"For real." Kyungsoo reassured you with his heart warming smile. He patted you on the head and gave you a light peck on the lips.
"Being the real you is more important than you knowing how to cook. I like you not because of what you are but because of who you are. Saranghae jagiya~"

Lol. I didn't bother to research for a recipe online so I just randomly made up one. Please don't try that recipe out XD
