You hold the picture of me close to your chest.
You open the door, you see my empty chair, the camera collecting dust.
You place the picture of me on my chair, and go to work.
We miss each other.
You work, I watch.
You come home, and walk right through me.
You fall onto the bed, you cry, and I cant stop it.
You sit, you put on a movie, you wipe your tears.
You look up and expect to see me beside you, but all you see is an empty space.
You close your eyes and look away, pained by the memory of our kiss.
You forget to eat.
I cry at the edge of our bed, but you hear nothing.
You retrieve the picture from my chair, and clutch it to your chest as you return to our room.
You get under the covers holding what you have left of me, and you cry.
You're cold, you're shivering, you close your eyes.
I lean over your sleeping face and kiss your forehead, and for the first time that day, you smile.
Your eyes open, and you sit up, but you do not see me.
Your smile disappears, you fall back into bed, and cry yourself to sleep again.
I lie beside you, holding you, but you cant feel it.
I play with your hair, as tears roll down my cheeks.
