"Well, good morning there, roomie!" I looked up from my phone while I waited for the coffee pot to heat up. I smiled at Harrison as he walked into the kitchen, reaching for his coffee up in the cupboard next to me. "Where's my actual flat-mate?"
"Morning, Haz," I took the pot and poured myself and Tom a cup before handing it to Harrison. "He's still asleep. We had a late night – not like that!" I shoved his shoulder when he winked at me, then reached for the sugar and the creamer. "Got any plans today?"
"Yeah, I got a date with that girl I told you about!"
"Darcy, right?" He nodded, a smile on his face as he poured his coffee. "How's that going, by the way?" He shrugged, trying to play it off. "Oh, come on! You've seen her almost everyday for the past three weeks – you two are inseparable!"
"I could say the same about you and lover-boy in there." My face heat up at the mention of Tom, just like it usually did. I guess I still wasn't used to the fact of us being in an actual relationship, I wasn't used to Tom being in an actual relationship. "How's that going?" I brought my coffee cup up to my lips, trying to hide my smile as I shrugged.
"It's... going."
"Babe," I heard a whine coming from around the corner, "it's cold without you in bed, come back." His eyes widened, seeing Harrison there. His face flared a light red, clearing his throat. "Oh – uh, hey Haz." Harrison stifled his laughter, causing me to roll my eyes.
"Really? Calling me 'babe' in front of your friends embarrasses you?"
"I think it's the fact that he's needy – Tom's usually not the type." I looked at Harrison, smiling softly when I heard Tom scoff.
"I-I'm not needy... am I?" I pouted slightly, shaking my head and walking up to him to hug him, wrapping my arms around his shoulders. I turned us so his back was to Harrison and I was facing him, I playfully mouthed 'so needy!' before pulling away, pecking Tom lightly. "I made you coffee. On the counter, I'll be back." He nodded happily at me, letting my hand go as I walked further away form him. I had just rounded the corner, but I could faintly hear the boys still talking.
"You're different – good different." I smiled at Harrison's words, thinking it wouldn't hurt to listen just a little longer.
"I feel different. Happy – happier. I really like what I have right now, Haz."
"It shows."
With that, I smiled, continuing my way toward the bathroom.

"Look at how pretty these are!"
"Yeah, you are." I rolled my eyes, picking the sunflower out of the bush quickly, before anyone else could see, and grabbed Tom's chin so I could turn him to face me. I placed the single flower behind his ear, smiling at how the yellow looked against his skin.
"Yellow looks good on you." He smiled, reaching behind me to pluck his own, more relaxed than I was. He placed the single flower behind my ear, his hand staying against my face, cupping my cheek.
"Yellow looks good on you, too." We looked at each other for a few seconds, smiling. "You're pretty – have I told you that, recently?" I nodded, my arms slowly coming up to wrap around his waist.
"You might've mentioned it a couple of times... today." He rested his forehead against mine, sighing heavily.
"If you don't want me to call you 'pretty', then you're gonna have to change the way you are." I leaned away from him, my eyebrow lifting and ready to take his challenge. I crossed my eyes and contorted my face to make it seem just a little less undesirable. He laughed, causing me to break character and laugh with him. "Damn."
"What? Did I do it?" He shook his head.
"Nope, still my pretty girl." His smile never left, not even when he leaned in to kiss me. It was impossible for us to kiss most of the time – we were too grossly happy. We smiled all the time, especially around each other. "I'm very lucky." I rolled my eyes, "I am – I'm so lucky that you gave me a chance. I know I don't really deserve it."
"Don't deserve it? What the hell are you talking about – hey, look at me." I reached out, grabbing his chin. "What did you mean by that?"
"I just meant, I know I've had a reputation. You weren't blind or oblivious to it – You knew what I had done and who I'd done it with. I just, I was scared that'd make it harder for me and you." I frowned, my fingers going through his hair while his went to hold my free one. "You're too good for me – don't try to deny it. But, I promise I'm gonna try to be good enough for you."
"You already are – like you said, I know you. I know you enough to know you aren't who you think you are." I pulled him down to kiss me, feeling his hand leave mine to wrap around my waist, pulling me closer. "Don't be so mean to yourself – it hurts my feelings." He chuckled softly. "I'm serious, Tom."
"Okay – I'll be nicer. I promise. I'm just – I'm very happy, being nice won't be hard." We pulled away from each other, continuing our walk. "Hey," I cocked my head to the side, looking at him, "I love you." I smiled, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and interlocking our fingers while I walked closer to his side.
"Yeah, I love you too."
