Shirabu looked up at the exterior of your house. Well, it was definitely big. He smoothed down his shirt, checking for any creases with his left hand. In his right, he held a bouquet of (favourite flowers). It's always good to make a first impression as his mother always told him.
This was his first time meeting your family, and honestly, he was about to pee himself. Of course, he didn't want to embarrass himself, so he held his pee in. But either way, he had never felt so nervous in his entire life until today. Was he really about to do this? Were they any different to you? He had remembered that you had two older siblings that still lived at home, yet he couldn't remember how old exactly they were.
When Shirabu had first met you at his cram school, he had fallen for your beautiful, misty (e/c) eyes. When he finally found out that you went to Shiratorizawa too, he felt like he was over the moon. However, things hadn't always gone his way. Being a person who didn't interact much with people, he was completely at a loss. However, you embraced his awkwardness and learnt a few things or two; he could get extremely hot-tempered if you struck his nerve, even becoming sarcastic. Eventually, you had fallen for his charms, finally confessing to him after cram school one day only to be shocked to find that such a composed boy could jump so high from happiness. The both of you had started dating, taking slow steps all the way. Honestly, it was like a whole fairytale, a dream come true for the both of you.
He hovered his hand over the doorbell, hesitating for a moment before pressing it.
*Ding Dong*
It wasn't long until the door opened suddenly, revealing a woman who looked like an older version of you. The only difference was that she looked to be about twenty; possibly a university student Shirabu thought to himself.
"Oh my... you must be Shirabu-kun!" the woman exclaimed.
"Why is he here?" the man grunted from behind her, obviously displeased with Shirabu's presence. He looked like a male version of you, except maybe two years older, but Shirabu wasn't too sure.
"Oh don't mind Mr Grumpy-pants here, I'm (older sister's name), (y/n)'s sister. Please do come in." she signalled to him to enter the house.
Shirabu followed her inside hesitantly. Just as he was about to ask where (y/n) was, your older brother interrupted,
"If you're wondering where your cute little (y/n) is, she had last minute club activities. I was surprised that she didn't tell you." your older brother snickered.
Shirabu followed them silently, before entering a living room. He sat down quietly, still taking in his surroundings. Your older sister left before returning back with tea.
"So, Shirabu-kun," (o/s/n) started. "How did you and (y/n) meet? Was it in school? Or was it through a friend?"
"(y/n) doesn't have many friends oneesan." (o/b/n) retorted.
"I met (y/n) at cram school," Shirabu said timidly, still unsure of what kind of people (y/n)'s siblings were.
"I can't believe my little baby sister has grown up so much!" (o/s/n) squealed with delight.
"What club are you in Shirabu-kun?"
"Volleyball."
"You must be really fit then! Can I see your muscles?" (o/s/n) drooled, inching closer to Shirabu.
Just before she could advance any further, you ran into the room panting heavily, before halting in front of the couch.
"You...will not...touch him!" you shouted, as you fell onto the couch in exhaustion.
"I was only joking, jeez can't you take a joke?" (o/s/n) pouted, hugging one of the pillows on the couch tightly.
"Just, please stop." you grabbed Shirabu's arm dragging him to your room, eager to leave behind your siblings. Any more interaction with them and you wouldn't be able to tell how much of Shirabu's sanity would be left.
"Don't do anything naughty!" you heard your older sister shout from the living room, causing the both of you to blush a dark red.
Once reaching your room, you pushed Shirabu inside before closing and locking the door. You made your way to your small table, patting the ground next to you. Realising what you meant, Shirabu got sat next to you, putting his bag to the side of him.
"Are you staying for dinner?" you asked. The silence was killing you.
"W-well, I guess if you parents don't mind?"
"Hmm, okay then." you quietly said, snuggling closer to your boyfriend's chest. He wrapped his arms around you, caging you in his arms before resting his chin on top of your head. It was moments like these, that Shirabu really treasured. He didn't care about gifts, or going out on dates. All he wanted was to see you happy in his arms.

DInner was silent. The atmosphere was awkward, and Shirabu could sense that he was the cause of it all. (y/n)'s older sister kept looking at him as if checking out his body.
'Gross.' he thought, cringing at how weird your sister was.
Your older brother was completely different, staring right into the soul of Shirabu. If looks could kill, it was definitely your older brother. Anytime, Shirabu would help you and physical contact occur, he could feel your older brother radiating with more anger.
Shirabu looked up again, eyes meeting your father. Realising that he had met eyes with your father, he quickly looked down again in embarrassment. It was awkward enough with your siblings, but with your father, things were worse. Shirabu couldn't seem to read your father; he seemed so... Shirabu didn't even know what words could describe it. If it wasn't for your hand holding his, under the table, he probably would have bolted out of here if he had the chance.
It was only your mother that seemed friendly and unaware of the tension in the air. She kindly offered Shirabu more food, anytime that his bowl was empty. She was a very happy person, exactly like how a mother should be; kind, caring and thoughtful.
'(y/n) is lucky for a mother like her.'
"So, Shirabu-kun, you're the one my daughter has chosen?" your father suddenly interrupted.
Shirabu nodded, eyes darting from one side of the room to the other nervously. Noticing how uncomfortable he looked, you silently reached for his hand under the table, giving it a squeeze reminding him you were next to him. He looked at you softly, thankful that you were by his side.
"You seem like a very quiet person."
"Really dad?" (y/n) whined.
"I'm just stating the obvious."
The rest of the dinner was eaten in silence; it was just awkward in Shirabu's opinion. He could feel that his presence wasn't exactly wanted, but he knew it was about time anyway.

"Ken-kun, thank you for coming tonight." You bowed your head.
"I've enjoyed myself today," Kenjiro said, smiling softly at you. "Thank you for the dinner, (y/l/n)-san. It was really delicious."
"Thank you Shirabu-kun." Your mother smiled.
"Shirabu-kun." A voice interrupted. Your father walked over, grabbing a coat and his keys.
"I'm going to walk him to the station. I'll be back soon." Dragging Shirabu out of the door before you could say anything.
Time Skip
The walk to the station was silent, both males unsure of each other. It wasn't until Shirabu decided to speak up first.
"Please let me continue dating your daughter!" He suddenly spoke out, stopping and bowing towards your father.
Your father stood there in shock. He hadn't expected such a loud declaration considering that he had observed how reserved Shirabu had been at the dinner table.
"What do you see in my daughter?"
Shirabu felt his confidence burst up again.
"Your daughter is everything I could have asked for. She is beautiful, intelligent, compassionate, kind, and everything good about this world describes her." Shirabu paused.
"Sometimes," he went on. "Sometimes, I don't think I deserve her at all. I'm nothing special, but a boy who can only play volleyball and get average grades."
Shirabu felt a weight on his shoulder. Looking up, your father had placed his hand there in a supportive way. Though his face was expressionless, there was a small flicker of admiration for Shirabu in his eyes.
"Shirabu-kun."
Shirabu swallowed nervously, unsure of what was going to happen.
"Please take care of my daughter." Your father bowed to Shirabu.
"And please, do come again."
