you opened your eyes and realized you were in your cowl form and panicked until you realized that you wanted to be like this so you could keep the musketeers warm, it was still cold so you thought the power was still cut, you gazed around you and saw all six of the muskets all snuggled up next to you, you lifted your head and saw pap in the kitchen and gaster sitting across from you he wore a grey sweater, black fuzzy pants and a black scarf but sans was no where to be found, and that made your heart sink a little bit, it was gaster who noticed that you were awake he smiled and said "good afternoon, y/n"
you smiled in return and nodded you then turned to the six muskets and rubbed your head against chara's lightly causing her to stir but she soon when back to her slumber leaning on your shoulder you smiled and look up and see pap, with a thicker scarf then usual and a woolen hat that was the same color as the scarf, but everything else was recognizable, still in the kitchen,
you tried to look out of the glass door that lead to the backyard but you couldn't see anything, it was covered up with snow from the top to the bottom but you could hear the wind howling since you had your cat ears on your head and you could hear very small things and from the direction of sans' room you heard "what do you want?" you scrunched your eyebrows together in concern it definitely was sans who said that, you'd recognize that deep voice anywhere, but, the question was, why did he say that?
your ears twitched as you shook it off sans would either tell you or he wouldn't it was up to him and you didn't really want to admit that you had been eavesdropping him say that, you saw pap come out of the kitchen and gently sit down on the other side of you, suddenly your crystal flashed bright blue so fast that you didn't know if you saw it correctly, and judging from the undisturbed looks from gaster and pap you thought it was just your mind playing tricks on you but then you felt that someone was using magick somewhere nearby
you looked around quickly trying to identify where it was coming from and gaster saw your fast movements and asked "y/n, is something wrong?" you heard him but you were so focused on pinpointing where the magick was coming from that your brain didn't realize gaster was talking to you, it took a hand placed on your shoulder when you found it your head snapped up to sans' room and your breathing quickened slightly as you felt the force grow stronger and more distressed in one fluid movement, that could have been easily seen as inhuman,
you made chara and asriel's feathers glow with warmth and placed them in the middle of all six muskets and used your wings to slip out of their grasp, cold air trying to grasp you but failing as your crystal was glowing with a bright blue glow, also with warmth, you knew it was reacting to something and it felt like sans' magick, at this you turned around and saw gaster looking at you with a worried face pap's was one of astonishment you said urgently "something's wrong" you quickly turned around and flew up the stairs and in front of sans' door very quickly,
your crystal glowing brighter with every foot you gained, you opened the door and saw sans in a tangle of dark blue cords that were all too recognizable, you saw the owner slip through a portal of white and it closed behind him you rushed to sans' predicament the forever smile on his face gone replaced with one of agony you tried to cut off the cords with a owl claw but to no avail you placed your hands on sans' shoulders and felt magick swirl around you and sans and transform into bright blue tails and they pulled the cords off of sans and turned to vapor along with the cords,
your wings, tail and ears had encrypted runes on them and that glowed but as soon as they appeared they were gone once sans was free, you caught him and held him steady while carefully setting him down onto the floor, that was when gaster followed by pap came in they took a step back once they saw that there were scratches and cuts all over him you saw these to and put your hands onto sans' skull sans had his 'eyes' shut in pain but once you put your hands on his skull he opened them and saw you instead of error, in which he was immensely glad for
you smiled and closed your eyes and healed sans' injuries carefully when you were done you opened your eyes and saw sans with part of his smile back already he hugged you and you hugged back your crystal glowing with a mixture of bright blue and f/c, during the healing process gaster and pap had closed the door slowly and went downstairs leaving you alone with sans,
you buried your face in his fur lined hoodie and he in turn buried his face in your neck you felt something warm go down your neck and realized that they were tears and by the way sans was shaking you knew they were tears of relief you smiled and you felt your wings go around him on their own accord to comfort him and it worked, after a long while when sans let go and he held your hands and your wings retracted and folded neatly against your back sans smiled and you smiled in turn sans said "thank you y/n, you saved me" you were confused sans explained
"i'm not entirely sure if you know about this but, a person named error came here to kill me, why? i'm not really sure, but he kept saying that he wanted revenge but as soon as you turned the door handle he left through a portal," you clutched your teeth, you knew it was error but that didn't stop you from thinking that error was going to get it next time you meet him, sans saw you tense and looked at you "do you know about him?"
you nodded stiffly and explained "a couple of nights after i saved gaster and chara, i was brought to a white background by this person named ink" sans widened his eye sockets in recognition you continued in a little bit of a softer tone "after a little while error came and challenged ink to a battle, and i intervened, after that error came straight for me but i spared him since i was waking up," sans nodded in understanding he smiled and said "did he spare you too?" you smiled "he couldn't get to the button quick enough"
sans chuckled you saw a bunch of holes in sans' jacket "do you want me to patch those up for you?" you offered indicating to the holes sans looked at them and shrugged "nah, i've got a whole lot more jackets" he stood up and walked to his closet he dug in it for a while until he got a fresh hoodie he took off the current one and put on the one in his hand you stood up too and offered once again "i could take that and just patch it up it's really no big deal" sans shrugged and handed the hoodie with holes in it to you "okay,"
you smiled and sans opened up the door "ladies first" you giggled and said "thank you, kind sir" you walked out and waited for sans, he came out and shut his door you put the hoodie in your room and came down the stairs gaster and pap came and asked questions about how sans had hurt himself he said he was just practicing his powers when something backfired, pap shook his head and started a speech on safety, still in a quiet voice, you looked at the muskets and saw that they were still sleeping you shook your head slightly and decided that it was time to wake them up you sat down and whispered into rose's ear
"wakey, wakey, rosie posie, or do you want the tickling dinosaur to come out?" rose immediately woke up along with Elijah and agrian and they said (and signed) "anything but tickling dinosaur!" you giggled and said "works every time" you cheerfully woke up everyone else after you did that everyone put on their scarfs and gloves, then cuddled next to asriel and chara since their feathers were still glowing with warmth and after a while the entire room filled with warmth but it wasn't from the feathers, the power came back on and as a result so did the heater,
you let the feathers die down and you turned on the t.v, a news report came on and everyone came in and watched, there was mettaton and standing beside her was a female human reporter, the woman said "good evening ladies and gents, my name is Kristy and i'm here today with the monster star mettaton, to bring to some news about the weather, mettaton?" mettaton said "thank you Kristy, there has been a massive snowstorm as you all may have seen but the storm has shown no signs of stopping anytime soon and there is a very big possibility that after the snow melts there will be major flooding, there will also be power shortages all over town but please know that the technicians are working to make sure everyone has heat in their homes and light in their doorways, but in case of a power shortage please make sure you have extra clothing on for it will get very cold if the power is out"
the screen then turned to outside and you saw snow coming down like there was no tomorrow, you saw the branches of the tops of trees and a road that was getting plowed, you remembered your ex-mom telling you one winter that the snow hadn't been this bad in 20 years, the camera turned back to Kristy "thank you mettaton, what you just saw was main street park-" she was cut off by a voice on her earpiece she listened to what the voice on the earpiece said and when she was done she said "well, we have a surprise update it seems that the snowstorm is expanding as we'll see right here-"
she paused and a map of the country appeared behind her but something was wrong almost half of the entire country was covered in a light blue-ish white with a dark blue spot in the center Kristy and mettaton were speechless they stared at the map with unreadable expressions you managed to make out the most common emotion, shock, mettaton was the first to recover but you still could hear bewilderment and shock in her voice "well, i didn't think it was going to be this bad, until next time darlings, stay warm and have a happy new year"
the news station then cut off and you turned off the t.v you were in shock as well, but thanks to your years of training your facial expressions it didn't really show "welp, i guess we stay warm until the next news report update" you said in the most calm voice you could muster but it wasn't your mom-mode one it was just calm and collected Elijah said
"how can you stay calm? you didn't just see how much the storm covered the entire country?!?" you tried to smile and barely succeded in a grin "i did, and i'm freaked out too, but i don't think screaming and yelling is going to help anything" Elijah nodded and bit his lip you smiled and sat down next him and rubbed his shoulder you said "until the next report, who wants some hot coco?" everyone raised their hands including pap, gaster and sans you smiled an went to go make some hot coco
