Your alarm was cut off by you almost hitting your phone off the small bedside table, with your fist.
You were still very tired from your late night adventure, and were not that excited at all to wake up, but, with a groan, you rolled out of bed and trudged to your closet, picked out an outfit consisting of mostly comfy clothes and walked into the bathroom to wash up
After your shower, you dried your body with one of the fluffy white towels and dressed, throwing your older clothes in the hamper, including the tree hoodie, instead, you put on a short-sleeved grey shirt with black sweatpants and a plain (F/c) jacket with sleeves that went over your hands.
You opened the door, letting the steamy air from the bathroom free and walked out. Your bare feet sinking into the soft carpet of the skele-bros. home. Rubbing your still-tired eyes you climbed down the stairs and walked onto the hard, cold tile of the kitchen and started to make breakfast, consisting mostly out of pop-tarts and trail mix
As you were putting the toasted pop tarts on a plate, you felt a pair of small arms wrap around your torso. Looking down you found that Rose was the owner and smiled
"Why, good morning Rose, how are you?" Rose looked up at you and signed 'I was kinda scared last night, I heard the front door slam and thought that someone had broken in'
You chuckled, mentally slapping your tired face
Of course, your siblings would've heard you, they've been slightly more alert since your 'mom' had been taken away and easily jump at small sounds
you squeeze your sister's shoulder lightly with one arm while the other holds the plate of steaming toaster pastries "Well, I bet it was just a bump in the night Rose, even if someone had broken in, I think they would've run away if they found out three monsters lived here as well" Rose giggled airily and nodded taking the bowl of trail mix and setting it on the table just as everyone else was coming down and starting the morning chatter
Everyone that is, except Sans.
You knew that the lazy skeleton wouldn't be coming down after such a late night but it still twisted your heart not to see him...That sounded a bit sappy but whatever
After breakfast was done Papyrus announced to everyone that he was going to start putting up Christmas lights outside, the muskets, who loved Christmas, wanted to help. You, of course, weren't going to let them unless they put on their hats, coats, and scarfs. They did so and rushed outside
Gaster went upstairs to try and wake up his son, which you thought would be near impossible. So, you just sat down on the couch with your phone tapped your game app
After a while, Papyrus and the muskets came inside and started to put up the large fake tree and decorate it, you were watching by this point. They only got part way through when suddenly, a hot pink heel KICKED the door open
You, being surprised, jumped and turned around so fast that a streak of (F/c) exited your right eye. But luckily dissipated as soon as it touched the open air
"Hello, Darlings~" a voice purred that soon revealed to be Mettaton's, as the sleek and polished robot herself came in. Papyrus gasped and clasped his gloved hands together in excitement "METTATON!" Pap ran to MTT and almost tackled her to the ground
Meanwhile, you were up on the couch in a kind of fetal position with your knees tucked up to your chest and your phone held in one hand under your chin the other resting over it. When you realized that, you slowly unfurled yourself, glancing at the muskets. They, being surprised as well, were standing still expressions of shock on each of their faces
"Why, hello papy darling~" Mettaton hummed, returning the hug. The sound of rapid footsteps caught your attention and you drifted your eyes to upstairs only to see Sans rush downstairs with Gaster hot his tail-bone
"Why are you here, bucket of bolts?!" Sans accused, pointing a finger at Mettaton, it was then you got a good look. Sans looked down-right tired, but he also looked very angry, you could see it in his tightened smile, and down-cast sockets.
At Sans' words, Mettaton and Papyrus unlatched themselves from each other, Papyrus having a tint of orange coating his cheekbones, Mettaton looking a tidge bit annoyed but hiding it very well with a well-rehearsed smile
"Sans! What has happened to your manners?" Gaster exclaimed, finishing the rest of the stairs. Sans lowered his arm, but his sockets continued to stare at Mettaton. Mettaton, however, laughed softly "It's fine, Gaster, he's just a little paranoid" Sans seethed "And for good reason" you completely relaxed your posture and placed a hand on Sans' coat sleeve, snapping him from his deadly stare and directed his attention to you. Sans calmed down upon seeing your serene smile and breathed out roughly, turning to Mettaton, while sitting down
You did too and realized that she was looking at you two intently, you smiled up at the monster star and said patiently "If you could Mettaton, may you tell us why you are here?" Mettaton beamed at your words "Why, certainly darling. Although I always love to stop by to see you Papyrus~" Pap turned slightly more orange, and Sans tensed from his place beside you on the couch but loosened when you placed a hand on his knee "The real reason I came was because I wanted to invite all of you to a party that I will be hosting~!" Sans scoffed "Why didn't you just send one of your lackeys?" Gaster looked exasperated "Sans!" but Mettaton waved him off "Again, it is alright Gaster, like I had said before, I enjoy to stop by when I have a chance. So, I took coming here as an opportunity" Sans huffed and folded his arms leaning back on the couch
The muskets finally snapped out of their stupor, and Rose slowly walked up to Mettaton. Tapping her leg gently to try and get her attention, Mettaton looked down and gasped "Oh My! What is a cutie like you doing here~?" Rose blushed and smiled signing 'My name is Rose, it's wonderful to finally meet you Mettaton' Mettaton seemed taken aback, but smiled warmly, crouching down to Rose's level "And polite too~! It is an absolute pleasure to meet you as well young Rose, where do you get your manners from?" Rose pointed at you and you chuckled, smiling timidly, and raised a hand "Guilty as charged" you said
Mettaton smirked "Well, then I supposed a certain someone should get some lessons~" she said pointedly looking at Sans. Sans narrowed his sockets Mettaton smirked and straightened "Well, it's been fun but I've got to go~" Elijah stepped forward "Wait, what kind of outfits do we have to wear?" Mettaton thought a bit "I would think formal~" you paled slightly. You didn't own any dresses or suits unless you counted the too-small one that you gave to Rose that was more of a sundress than anything
"Oh, that could be a problem..." you mumbled Mettaton caught on and turned to you "And why is that darling~?" you placed your hands in your lap silently wringing them "Well, we don't really own any formal clothes" you gestured to your siblings, blushing out of embarrassment. They nodded and when you heard the dramatic gasp you nearly jumped out of your skin
"Well, this is a travesty~!! We need to get you proper clothes, c'mon darling, I'll take you shopping~" you were confused by this sudden offer, Sans shifted uncomfortably beside you "N-Now?" you asked and Mettaton nodded decidedly "Yes, now, is that a problem?" you shook your head and Mettaton clapped her hands together "Wonderful~ I will be waiting in the car~"
The next thing you know Metta's gone and the musket's look just as confused as you feel, however, Sans looks like he's trying to keep his cool. You blow out a puff of air and say "Welp, I guess we're going shopping" agrian groaned "do we have to go?" you laughed, standing up "No, you don't if you don't want to. Is that okay Gaster?" Gaster chuckled "Of course, (Y/n)" you smiled and rushed upstairs to get slightly a bit more ready to go outside
Apparently Sans followed you for when you pulled out a warmer coat he was standing in the doorway "I don't think you should go" you smiled "Why not? It's just a little shopping" Sans sighed, looking tired "I just don't want somethin' to happen to you" you laughed "What, with the training you gave me last night? I'll be fine, Sans, I promise" Sans sighed again and suddenly hugged you.
You took an intake of breath and blushed slightly, hugging him back. When you pulled away you found that Sans' sockets were filled with something you couldn't place, but you smiled at him and told him to take a nap cause he looked like a teenager that woke up by an alarm clock for school
After that, you rushed down the stairs to find the muskets finishing the tree and decorating the rest of the house, saying goodbye you ran to the sleek black limo that was supposedly Mettaton's car, when you entered you found it was lined by a pink interior "Ah there you are darling, I think our first stop will be to get you a dress~!" and with that the driver drove down the road.
Later, Mettaton decided to ask you a question "So, darling, what do you think of Sans~?" you blinked at the sudden question, sadly resulting in you blushing a bit. trying in vain to calm down your face you said as calmly as possible "I think he's a pretty punny guy and I like him as a friend"
Ok, that was a lie and you knew it, it even hurt you to say those words, in the time you got to know him, it's safe to say you've fallen, and you've fallen Hard for the skeleton.
Mettaton hummed a small smile playing on her metallic face. Before she could ask another question however you fired one of your own, your blush slightly worse "S-So! When is this party anyway?" Mettaton looked like she didn't wasn't to let the subject go but she answered anyway "It's going to start a week from today~"
you nodded and felt the limo come to a stop. Mettaton clapped her hands to together "Oh~! We're here~" she opened the door and got out, you followed her and looked at the shop in front of you "Forever 21..." you murmured
Welp. I guess this just got exciting
