Reminiscence
Kyra's POV
I started coughing up water and feel the oxygen filling my lungs again. Tumambad sa akin ang nag-aalalang mukha ni Hunter na nakaluhod sa tabi ko.
He looked relieved, his facial features relaxing as we stare at each other. His eyes held worries in them just the way I remember him.
"Kyra!! You scared the shit out of me." He exclaimed hugging my wet body tightly.
"I'm sorry."
"I thought I was going to lose you." His voice crack as he fight the tears attempting to flow from his eyes.
"Ayos na ako. You saved me." I tried to ease him.
"What if... what if I was too late like the last time. You could have drowned."
I saw disappointment and hurt from his eyes. Not towards me but to himself. He's still blaming himself from the last time I almost died.
I never blamed him. I am grateful to him. I remember it all now. How he leads the pack warriors into defeating the rogues. He sacrificed a lot to save me.
"But I didn't. You saved me before it will happen. Thank you." I looked ay him longingly, running my palm into his worried face.
"Hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko kapag nawala ka ulit sa akin. It will drive me insane."
"Hindi na ako mawawala Hunter. I promised." Tumingin ako sa mga mata niya, sa mga labi niya sa buong mukha niya. I remember him now. I remember all those kisses and the conatant growling whenever he's jealous. "I miss you."
"I love you." Sagot nito at binuhat ako papasok ng pack house patungong kwarto.
Buong araw ay hindi umalis sa tabi ko si Hunter. Sumusunod lang siya sa akin kung saan man ako magpunta. Pati nga siguro sa banyo ay susundan niya ako kung hindi ko lang siya sinita. He's asking me every minute if I'm fine, do I need anything or if Im hungry, if I am tired and so on. He's been following me around like I'm going to disappear any moment.
"Seriously Hunter, I'm fine. Ito na ang pang sampung tinanong mo ako kung okay lang ako." Sagot ko sa kanya habang nanunuod ng tv sa sala.
"I just want to make sure. Sa tingin ko kasi kailangan mong magpahinga. You almost drowned this morning." He reasoned.
"Alam mo Hunter, why don't you go to the pack gym, patrol the borders or train the warriors? I promise I am fine. Stop worrying about me. I don't want to stop your daily activities. I think you have another meeting from the neighboring pack. Ayokong hindi ka pumunta ng dahil lang sa akin."
"Are you sure?" He asked hesitantly.
"Definitely. Sige na, may isang oras pa bago mag-umpisa ang meeting niyo. Babyahe pa naman kayo. Go." I gave him a reassuring smile.
He gave me one last kiss in the cheek before walking his way to the garage and into his fancy car.
Nang masigurado kong naka-alis na siya, agad kong tinawagan si Anika.
"Yes besty?" Bati nito.
"I need your help."
"Okay. I'll be there in five minutes."
Pagkatapos ng limang minuto ay dumating na si Anika gamit ang bike nito. Buti nalang at hindi nito naisipang magmaneho ulit. Naalala kong hindi talaga siya marunong magmaneho.
Agad ko siyang hinila sa kwarto namin ni Hunter at pina-upo sa kama.
"I remember everything." I blurted out.
She just stared at me contemplating if I said the truth.
"Ows? Prove it."
"I was with you the first time you drove a car. We sneaked and we almost died because you freaking accidentally stepped on the accelerator then you started hyperventilating you didn't realize that all you have to do is let go your feet off the accelerator. We ended up in the police station for driving recklessly."
Sixteen lang ako nuon at pareho kaming pinagalitan. We were both grounded for two months. Si Anika naman kasi, akala ko naman marunong siyang magmaneho. Bagong bago pa naman ang sasakyan nila nuon. Heck! You don't accidentally step on the accelerator, you should purposely step on it but gosh, Anika almost killed both of us!
"Ah!!!!!" She screamed and I hurriedly covered her mouth with my hand.
"Wag kang maingay. Ikaw palang pinagsabihan ko nito."
"Oh my gosh! Omg! You really remember!! I'm so happy." She sobbed like a kid.
"Sshh... Lower your voice." Sita ko.
"Eh bakit ba? Dapat sinabi mo na agad kay Hunter. I mean, kawawa naman yung tao oh. He suffered a lot since you went into coma. He deserved to know. He will be very happy. How could you take that happiness away from him?" She accused.
I scowled at her rolling my eyes. "Ang dami mo nang sinabi, hindi mo pa nga narinig ang sasabihin ko."
"Well... hahaha. I was always talkative, remember?"
"Of course I remember."
"So ano yung gusto mong sabihin sakin?" Tanong nito.
"You see, Hunter and I have never been in a date together." Paliwanag ko.
"What? After everything that happened between you two and you never dated?!" She exclaimed and I nodded. "Kami nga ni Zeno hindi na mabilang sa kamay ang mga date namin eh."
"That's why I need your help. I want to give him a perfect date. At least, kahit iyon man lang ang maibigay ko sa kanya sa lahat ng effort at sakripisyo niya sa akin."
"Okay!! I've got this besty. Pero hindi ko yata kakayanin ito nang ako lang. Pwede ba nating sabihin kina Aspen at Jake? They can be a great help!" She suggests.
"Okay. But tell them to never let Hunter know. It will ruin everything once na malaman niya."
"Wag kang mag-alala, ako nang bahala dito. I'm the best in setting up dates. Ang kailangan mo nalang gawin ay mag beauty rest at kami na ang bahala." She assured rubbing her palms together excitedly.
"Thank you talaga!!" I said hugging her.
She run off to find Jake and Aspen and I hurriedly look for a dress to wear. Should I go with the red one? Or perhaps with the white floral dress? What would Hunter like? Gosh, I don't know. I'm really nervous right now.
Tumingin ako sa orasan. Six o'clock na. May tatlong oras pa bago dumating si Hunter. I hope it would be enough time to set up everything for the date.
After two hours, everyone burts into my room happily.
"Ky!! Im so glad you have your memory back!" My mother exclaimed hugging me tightly.
"Do you remember me now my little princess?" Tanong ng papa ko kaya naman hindi ko na mapigilang hindi maluha. I remember him calling me little princess when I was a kid.
"I miss you daddy. I'm sorry I could not remember you before."
"Don't cry. We should all be happy." My dad wiped the tears in my eyes and smiled.
"Right!! I'm so proud of you dear. Sa wakas maayos na ang lahat." Now it's tita Rebecca's turn to hug me.
"Even now I can see Hunter's reaction. That kid will be very happy." Tito Diego laughed. "I hope you are able to handle him afterwards." Tito warned with a knowing look. And I know what he meant. He's talking about an aggressive Alpha.
"Ate!!!" Sigaw ni Russell na kakapasok palang sa kwarto ko. "I heard you have your memories. Do you remember how much I wanted to marry you when I grow up?"
"Of course... pero pano niyo lahat nalaman na bumalik na ang ala-ala ko?" Nagtatakang tanong ko at maya maya pa ay napagtanto ko na kung sino.
"Anika...." I gritted my teeth. Who else would spread the news that fast. That girl! Ako nang bahala pala ah! She couldn't even keep her mouth shut. Ilang oras palang ang nakalipas at alam na nang lahat. Ang daldal talaga niya at hindi na ako magtataka kung alam na rin ni Hunter.
"Please do not tell Hunter I got my memories back. I'm planning to surprise him." I begged.
"Of course, dear." Tita assured.
"Oh siya. Boys, umalis na muna kayo at aayusan namin itong si Ky." Sambit ng mama ko.
They hesitantly left the room, Russell being the last one to leave. As usual, he was begging his mother to let him stay.
Hinayaan ko na lang sila mama na ayusan ako. Wala naman kasi talaga aking alam sa pagpapaganda. Sila na rin mismo ang pumili ng idadamit ko.
It was a simple prom dress that reached below my knees showing my curves and a little skin. My hair is styled in a way that showd my mark.
"Tada!!"
Pagharap ko sa salamin ay tumambad agad sa akin ang pamilyar na mukha ko. Looking in the mirror before is like looking at a stranger. Now I feel like I'm completely back.
Hindi ko na mapigilang maluha. Agad namang kumuha ng tissue si mama at dahang-dahang pinunasan ang mga mga mata ko.
"Ky, dont cry. It'll ruin your make up."
"Thank you po ma, tita." I hugged them both and tita started sobbing.
"No. Thank you Kyra. I always wanted to have a daughter. But I was given with two naughty boys but its okay because you are here. You are more than just a daughter to me." Tita Rebecca said as she pats my back.
