"Zyshaun you've known me for how long now? It doesn't matter you know how I am and if there is one thing about me, it's you know damn well I don't get summoned anywhere. My own mom doesn't 'summon me'. So the next time you wanna talk to me, pick up the damn phone and call me yourself and don't send one of the fast ass secretaries you keep around." I said sitting in his chair knowing it would piss him off. Zyshaun stood by the fireplace in his office looking amused, pissed and uncomfortable all at the same time. I would've felt bad for cussing him out if I didn't remember how that bitch came at me, 'Mr. Prater wants to see you in his office within the next hour' if I wasn't about to go for lunch I wouldn't have even came but any chance I had to see Khalil I'd take it, I should've made his black ass wait until next week before even bothering with him. Zyshaun walked over to his bar and poured himself a drinking before walking over and sitting across from me.
"Marcus I need your help....... it's Saint." He said quietly, I was confused because Toussaint was just over the house last night and he seemed perfectly happy. Zyshaun didn't said anything he just pulled out a tablet and showed me a video of Toussaint coming really close to kissing that boy Mario. "I don't know how to tell him I know his secret....... I don't want him to close up on me again, just when we started working on relationship. You were the only person I could talk to about this." Zyshaun said quietly.
"Zyshaun...... don't force him to tell you, you have to let him come to you on his own. I'm sure Toussaint is extremely confused right now, this is something he has to feel comfortable coming to you with." I said.
"But that's my problem I should be helping him through it, I know all too well what he's going through and I don't want him to go through this alone. I had Khalil and Gonzo to help me come to terms with the fact that I'd fuck anyone if their ass is fat enough." Zyshaun said. "I've been dropping hints to let him know I know but still nothing......."
"Like I said let him come to you with this don't force the truth outta him, besides it could be nothing." I said looking in his eyes.
"Maybe you're right........... what would you say if I wanted to pull a few strings to get you appointed as the new District Attorney?" Zyshaun asked out of nowhere.
"I'd kill you, like not figuratively I would literally kill you...... I'm not looking to be anyone's pawn in this game between you and Michael Cross." I said seriously.
"It's not a game Marcus this dude is really starting to become a problem and I don't feel like getting into a war with him, it would be too easy to destroy him. Do you realize how close I was to fucking his wife just so I could laugh every time I saw him? And she wants me bad, look at these pictures she sent me." Zyshaun said scrolling through his tablet showing some very risque pictures of Mrs. Cross.
"I'm going to decline, I have too much on my hands as it is; planning this trip, making sure our new house well be ready by the time Cam gets home, dealing with Noah who is pissed that his mom has a new boyfriend and I'm thinking about retiring with Khalil." I said.
"Khalil doesn't know the meaning of the word retire, his ass has been here damn near everyday. But I'll respect your decision...... I wonder if Tonya will do it?" Zyshaun wondered to himself. I walked down to Khalil's office where he had Marquise standing on his desk making him dance and Marquise sat there laughing.
"What did he want?" Khalil asked without looking up, I told him about the District Attorney job but not about Saint I knew if Zyshaun wanted Khalil to know he would've told him before anyone. "I'm glad you turned it down because I need you at home, once this future running back gets in school we're going to have eight hours to ourselves and I'm trying to get creative." Khalil said smiling.
"Have you spoke to Noah?" I asked and he shook his head. "Khalil he's really upset about his mom dating Kenneth, I think you should talk to him and help him realize that his mom is going to date people."
"Baby why would I do that? i'm actually on Noah's side with this one, Michelle should've just eased Noah into it instead of dropping this on him and leaving out the next day...... wait a second weren't you mad because Qwanell was fucking your mom?" Khalil asked.
"No I was mad because I didn't know who it was and she was acting secretive but once I found out who it was I didn't care." I said looking at him.
"Well I'm not getting in the middle of it, so what's for dinner?" Khalil asked and I stood there looking at him. "It's not going to work Marcus, Noah has a right to be protective of his mother....... I'm thinking chicken and rice." Khalil said, I knew there was no point in arguing about this so I guess I'd talk to Noah myself.
When I got home I walked down to Noah's room and quietly knocked on his door, I didn't bothering waiting for him to say come in I just walked in and found him laying on his bed throwing a football in the air.
"Wassup Dad......" He said quietly.
"Noah you know, you really hurt your moms feeling when you said you didn't want to meet her boyfriend." I said and he started blushing.
"But dad what if she falls in love with that dude and they get married? Then I'm going to have a stepdad that's going to think he can tell me what to do....." Noah said sitting up and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Remember when you first met me? You promised to cause all kinds of havoc and make me as miserable as possible, you didn't exactly like me either. You thought I was going to steal all of Khalil's attention away from you." I said looking at him.
"That was different........" Noah said trying not to smile. "And for the record I was just playing, I wouldn't do anything to cause you problems you know I love you pops........ even if your cooking has fell off some." He said giving me a sneaky grin.
"Oh....... damn......... I was thinking about making an Oreo Cheesecake for later too, but since my cooking as fell off I might as well......
"I'm just playing dad dang, why are you torturing me? You know how much I fuc...... love Oreo's but I guess I can give this punk a chance, but I know he's not going to be anything like you and I'm not calling him dad or anything like that." Noah said seriously.
"Okay Noah...... I'm about to start cooking do you wanna help?" I asked and he got up following me out his room.
"Wassup Marcus can't speak?" Devin said as we past the theater and I didn't even realize he was in there with Lorenzo.
"Shut up, what are you doing here?" I asked walking in the theater while Noah went up stairs to start getting everything ready.
"The Bulls play the Cavs tonight so we're having a little get together. Khalil didn't tell you?" Devin asked and I shook my head. "Well he's known about it all day, plus I couldn't help but over hear something about an Oreo Cheesecake. You might as well make two because you know Noah's going to eat one all by himself." I started to throw something at him but decided against it. I started to leave but Lorenzo stopped me.
"So did he ask you?" Lorenzo asked staring into my eyes, I guess my face told it all because he just shook his head. "We're going skydiving this weekend and I told Khalil to invite you."
"Wait......... pause........ you mean to tell me that Khalil is going to jump out of a plane? The same Khalil that used to close his eyes for an entire flight, the same Khalil that used to make me climb on the roof because he was afraid of heights? Oh I'm definitely going because this was going to be too funny to miss." I said smiling.
"Me and Zy got a little bet going, Zy thinks Khalil will chicken out but I don't think so you wanna get in on this?" Enzo asked smiling and I didn't think it was fair, I knew Khalil better than both of them so for me it was an easy bet.
"So how much money are we talking?" I asked already plotting on what I was going to buy with the money I was going to win...................
