The Next Day ........
Me and Lila was getting ready to take the girls to school today.
"You got your stuff baby" Lila was saying to Kyra. We was dropping her off first.
"Yes I have everything Auntie Lila bye sissy" Kyra said hugging Lay who was in the back with her.
"Ok bye baby have good day in school". Lila said.
Kyra got out the car with her bag going to a group of girls. They greeted her with open arms.
We was pulling up at lay daycare center. She wanted me to walk in with her ,Lila was cool with it.
"Hey Miss Johnson"I said coming inside the building.
She looked up from what she was doing and waved at us.
"Hey sunshine and handsome" she said looking at me she pinch lay cheek causing her to move around in my arms.
"You ready to go to class missy" Ms.Johnson said to Layla while I signed her in
"Yes"she said shyly
"Ok let me tell Miss James you here" Ms.Johnson said leaving her desk.
I bent down to Layla level.
"Lay the next time that little boy do something call using this phone ". Her eyes got wide.
It was a iPhone 5 with Princess Tiana case (she always playing on my phone so she know how to use it)
"The next time he do something PLEASE call me I don't care when ok "
She nodded her head.
"Otay lov you " she said
"Love you to baby girl." I watch her run to the back where the classroom was.
I stand up to my full height about to leave when some woman who looked about my age bump into me dragging some lil boy in the building.
"Come on Raheem its your first day"the woman said dragging him.
"Mommy I don't want to go here" the boy looked up at me with his hazel green eyes mugging me.
"Come on rah you can make new friends here"
"But I don't want to" the lil boy said still fighting his mother off of him.
"Aye lil man you should listen to her" I said butting in
"Who are you !! You not my daddy" the boy said mugging me.
"Raheem that is so disrespectful" ,"I'm sorry sir" the women looked up at me. She looked like she was stressed out.
"It's alright ma'am."
I Left out the building heading to the car where Lila was texting somebody.
What's next she said putting up her phone.
"I guess we can go home and do you know what" I said wiggling my eyebrows
"Boy hush" she said hitting my chest
" You have been very violent lately" I said to her
"Hmmm I wonder where I get that from" she said looking at me with her eyebrow raised.
I pecked her lips.
"What was that for" she said cheesing
"Cause I felt like and you know you like my thugness. "
"Boy whatever" she said waving me off.
"Ohhh I almost forgot can you drop me off at kam. Me,her,and Monte are planning a surprise baby shower for liyah you guys should come "
I thought about it.
"Nahhhh that ain't for me."
We pulled up at Khalil house. That shit look like a castle.
Layla Pov.......
I was sitting at the table when Miss James (their teacher) came in with a little boy who looked very angry.
"Class we have a new student that would like to introduce himself"
"Ooo he has green eyes" some of the girls where whispering
"Come on sweetie tell us your name don't be shy"
The boy looked far from shy I thought
"My name is Raheem" he mumble with his head down.
"RAHEEM that's a beautiful name, you may sit anywhere you want" Miss James said
"Ooo I hope he sits over here"my friend Alicia said
"He looks like a meanie" I said
"Yea with green eyes" Alicia smiled
We saw him walking to our table.
"Ooo lay here he come she whisper in my ear."
He slid into the chair by Alicia.
"Hello my name is Alicia" she said with her hand out
He just looked at her hand.
She put her hand away realizing he was not going to shake it.
"See I told you he was a meanie" I whisper
During the whole class he was very quiet , he wouldn't speak to nobody.
Now it was lunch time and everybody was grabbing their lunches
I had two turkey sandwiches , a Scooby snack,chips, and a Sunny Dee
We went outside on the playground area since it was nice outside. Alicia went to go sit with her other friends. She talk to lots of people. I was sitting at the picnic table by myself until I saw the new boy from earlier sitting at the other end of it.
I slid down to the same end as him but on the other side where we were both facing each other. I realize he didn't have a lunch like everyone else
"You mommy didn't pack a lunch"
"No" he said with his head down
I pulled out my extra sandwich I usually have for a snack.
"You can have mines its a turkey sandwich my sissy say it's good for you" I said sliding it over to him.
He looked at it first and unwrapped then took a bite.
"It's good" he said with a mouthful
" My sissy said you chew with your mouth close "
"Oh sowy "he said
"Hahaha it's ok" I giggled
I shared my lunch with him since he didn't have anything else to eat. We talked the whole time he is really funny.
"How did your eyes get green I never seen that before" I
"My mommy said my daddy has green eyes"
"Really?" I said. He nodded his head eating some of my Scooby snacks
"Hey lay you didn't want to come play with us" Alicia said
"No" I said shaking my head
"See I told you she wouldn't play with us" one of her friends said.
"Come on Alicia the sun is out she might turn into ashes since she is sooooo BLACK" all her friends laughed at me
"Hey That's not funny she is pretty to me" Raheem said defending me.
"Uhh no she's not can't you see" Alicia other friend said
"You're just mad cause you don't look like her"
"Ugh come on Alicia I don't even know why you hang with her"
Alicia and her friends walked away with her leading.
"Those girls are mean" Raheem
"I know that's why I never hang with her when they are around" I said looking down
"Y-you c-could be my frwiend i-if you want"
"You want to be my frwiend"
"Y-yea I guess" he said looking down his cheeks were turning red
"Okay"
"Friends" I said with my handout
"Friends" Raheem
"OK CLASS TIME TO GO IN" Miss James said.
"Come on let's go you're walking to slow" Raheem said
"I'm coming" I said
He grabbed my hand so that I could jog with him. We was heading to the front door when someone tripped me. I fell face first busting my lip.
Ouch !!!!! I looked up to see Derrick smiling at me
"Whatcha do that for" Raheem said bending down next to me.
"Cause I can he said kicking Raheem in the stomach. He doubled over in pain but got back up fighting Derrick.
"MISS JAMES THERE FIGHTING" one of the students said
She got in between Derrick and Raheem to stop them from fighting but Raheem was still trying to hit Derrick.
"STOP! It Raheem." Miss James literally dragged Raheem to the front desk.
Everybody was quieting around me looking at my bloody lip and scarred knee when I trip.
"Layla come with me " Miss James came back. Everybody starting ooooing I was going to get in trouble.
Lila Pov.......
"These are nice" kam was saying. We were looking at different venues for liyah suprise baby shower.
"What else do you guys have" Monte asked He was the one trying to pull off this whole thing I applaud him for that.
"Um we have another venue that is located at the beach house it's a very beautiful view." The venue lady said.
She pulled out several pictures of how it looks and I was impress by it.
"These are beautiful LiLi" kam said.
"Mannn you said that about all of them" Monte said to kam.
"But its true" kam was about to cry.
"Awwwl kam please don't start crying" I said
"I'm sorry it's the pregnancy hormones" she said rubbing her 5 month belly.
"It's ok sweety I have 3 kids I understand" the venue lady said.
"Thanks at least someone understand my pain" Kam said
"So how much will this be in all total including with the food." I asked
"Umm let me see" the lady said grabbing her calculator.
" it will be 25,000 dollars"
" 25,000 DOLLARS !!!" "Who got that type of money!"
"Uh LiLi stop I got the money I've been saving up " Monte said
"You must really love this girl" Kameron asked
"Yea I do" Monte said blushing with his head down.
"Awwwl that is so cute" I said pinching his cheek.
"Stop" his said pushing my hand away.
We was interrupted by my phone ringing.
"Hello"
"Hi is this The guardian of Layla Jackson"
"Yes this is she may I ask whats going on with her" by then kam and Monte was trying to figure out what's going on too.
"Well today their was altercation with her and a little boy and we like for you to come pick her up"
"Ok ma'am I'm on my way"
I start gathering all my stuff so quickly that I forgot about Monte and kam.
"LiLi what's going on" kam said catching my attention.
"Lay got into a fight with some boy"
"What is this the same one" Monte said
"I don't know but I need to go"
I was about to call Darnell but kam stop me
Come on Lila you can drive with us.
We all got in the car heading to the daycare center.
When we got their lay and some other little boy was sitting with her.
"That boy look familiar" Kam mumble
Kameron Pov......
"LiLi ! " lay ran into Lila arms. Her lip was swollen and she had a bandage on her knee.
"Who did this to you lay and tell me everything" Lila said with a serious tone.
"It was Derrick again " lay mumble with her head down
"Aye where the lil nigga at " Monte said getting angry.
" Demonte Chill " I said
" Nawl man he keep putting his hand on my sister " he said getting fustrated.
"WHERE HE AT " Monte was storming around the office. He looked at the little boy with the green eyes
"Are you Derrick!. " was about to jack him up but Lila stop him.
"Monte calm down " Lila was holding him back. the little boy was shaken badly
Monte That's not Derrick !!!!. He-he help me when Derrick push me down.
Awwwl that is so sweet I thought.
Kameron Pov...........
"WHERE IS MY SON!!!."
" Rah! .... Rah!." some girl was screaming, her back was turnt so I couldn't see her face.
"I'm right here mommy! " He waved for her attention.
She turnt around and I was shocked to see her.
"That can't be her" I mumble
"OMG rah what did you do this time. This is your first day here and you are already fighting. I cannot afford to send you to another School Raheem Ezkiel Thomas. This is your fourth pre-k system "
"I'm sowy mommy but the little boy hit my friend and she a girl didn't you say boys don't suppose to hit girls"
"You right baby but the next time this happen please get a teacher before thinking with your fist"
"Okay mommy"
"Where is the little girl at"
He pointed towards Lila and lay
"Woah Im sorry I didn't realize y'all was that close" "I'm Lauren and this is my son rah"
So that is her.
"It's ok but I'm Lila and this is lay"
"Hi it's nice to meet you"
Lauren bent down to her level to shake her hand but Layla scooted closer to Lila leg acting shy.
"Lay you not gone shake her hand" Lila said
"It's ok I understand I have that same problem with him" Lauren reverted her eyes to Raheem he looked down blushing.
"So you ain't gone say hey to your old friend" I said smirking at her
She looked to who was talking to her. Her eyes got wide
" OMG it's been so long heyyy gurl." She said hugging me.
She was a real friend then all my other ones. She was the quiet one and I was the loud one.In high school we made a tight bond. When me and Khalil start dating he introduced her to his friend Rashard but that didn't end so well. He ended up cheating on her with multiple girls and said she wasn't even good for sex. After that happen she left and I never seen her after , but looking at her son Raheem. She's got a lot of explaining to do.
"So whatcha been up to I asked her."
Umm nothing much just been busy working I just recently move back down here-
"Mommy I'm hungry" Raheem said pulling on Lauren black sundress"
"Ok sweety we will get something eat soon". She said to Raheem.
"Ummm do you mind if we join you for lunch I know we just met lay is a little hungry too " Lila added.
"Oh sure I don't mind" Lauren said fanning her off
"Rah what do you have in mind for us to eat."
"Ummmm......" He had little thinking face on. It was so cute.
"Pizza !!"
"Yay!!" Lay cheered
"Pizza it is" Lila
I guess we'll talk later
45 mintues later
We were all seated at chucky E. cheese.
The kids were playing including Monte big ass.
" So how many months are you " Lauren said looking at my belly
"Gurl five months and it's driving me crazy" I stressed
"GURL that's how I was with rah. It's like everytime I tried to go to sleep he knew how to wake me back up. " Lauren laughed reminiscing
"So are you having a boy or a girl". She asked
"Nope I want it to be a surprise."
"What where is the fun in that" Lila said
I stuck my tongue out at her.
So what made you come back down to the "A" I asked
" I lost my job as a waitress and Raheem kept getting put out their pre-k systems, it was just a mess so I just left it all together "Lauren said shaking her head.
"It's ok girl I gotcha your back" I said
"Me too even though I just met you " Lila said joining in
"Awwwl thank you guys" Lauren said with tears in her eyes.
"Mommy why your crying" Raheem was about to say something else but he saw his mommy crying.
"Baby it's happy tears I'm ok" Lauren said to him.
"Watcha needed" she said wiping her tears with a napkin.
"I won 700 tickets see" he said showing her
"That's good baby win mommy some more"
"Ok" he ran back off to where he was. We saw him and lay playing some motorcycle game and Monte helping them
"Your son is so adorable "Lila
"Thank you is she your daughter" Lauren had ask Lila
"Um no she actually my baby sister but I treat her like she is mine" Lila said smiling
"Oh that's good" Lauren said
" not trying to be nosy or anything but is rah's father in his life or does he know about him" I said giving her that look because she knew where I was going with this.
"Umm.....I prefer rah not to know his father knowing the lifestyle he was in and pro-probably still is " Lauren said looking some where avoiding looking at me.
"Don't you think it's wrong for rah not to know who his father is " I said
"I think I should step out" Lila said leaving the table
" Kam Raheem does not need to be in that type of environment hell I don't even know how I dealt with him "
Lauren was right about that. Rashard was very crazy. Kill anybody mother,father,sister,brother right infront of yo face and not even care. That was one heartless nigga, but I knew he would kill for Lauren without a doubt.
I know if Lauren don't tell him about his son it's going to all blow up in her face.
