Tingles and Sparks
The familiar scent of my room filled the air. It was never this strong before. I sniff the air and a strong smell of forest and mint mingled along with my scent. I remember it was the scent before I passed out last night. It smells really good that I want to open my mouth and maybe taste it. It's making my mouth water.
"Kyra?" Kahit hindi nakamulat ang mga mata ko, alam na alam ko kung kanino nagmamay-ari ang boses na iyon. I grunt and slowly opened my eyes to see a very woried Hunter who's sitting beside me. He's caressing my cheeks with his thumb.
"Are you okay?" tanong ni Hunter habang hinahaplos parin ang pisngi ko. Bigla namang bumalik sa akin ang mga nangyari kagabi. It's my birthday and I still remember the pain from shifting.
I moaned when I felt tiny sparks where he's touching me. It feels really great. The tingles are much stronger than before. But something is strange. Something surfaced deep inside me like another person trying to take over me giving me a big urge to jumped over at Hunter.
"Mate." I whispered. That was the word, the person inside me kept mumbling over and over.
Hunter grinned from ear to ear. "Yes, I'm your mate." He's looking right through me, no not me, at the person inside me. It took another minute to realize its my own wolf inside me. Like another entity with its own intelligence and attitude.
"You smell so good, Hunter." Inangat ko ang aking kamay at hinaplos siya sa pisngi. Hunter responds and leaned closer to my touch.
"Ayos ka na ba? Wala bang masakit?" He asked concerned.
"Yeah. I'm just a little sore. But don't tell me, ganun lagi kasakit every time na magshi-shift ako." Umiiling kong sambit.
"No it won't hurt anymore after several shifts." He answered chuckling. Inangat ko ang sarili at sumandal sa headboard ng kama. Namula naman ang pisngi ko nang makitang may suot na akong damit.
Sa pagkaka-alam ko kasi, napupunit ang suot na damit kapag nagbabagong anyo. Ang ibig sabihin wala din akong damit nang bumalik ako sa anyong tao. Nanlaki ang mga mata ko nang marealize ito. Napansin ito ni Hunter.
"Don't worry. Hindi naman ako ang nag suot ng damit sayo, as much as I wanted to, your mother wouldn't let me." He said joking. I pouted and slapped his chest earning a laugh from him.
"How about when I shifted back to human form? Did you see my... I mean... Ugh! You know what I'm trying to say, just answer the damn question!" I said frustrated. Just thingking of Hunter seeing me naked makes me squirm away from embarrassment.
"But you didn't asked anything. Pano ako sasagot?" Nagbibirong tanong niya. Pinalo ko ulit ang dibdib niya at hindi man lang siya nasaktan, mas lalo pa ngang lumakas ang tawa nito. I glared at him and he stopped.
He cleared his throat, "Sorry, I really like seeing you blush. I didn't saw you naked. Nang mahimatay ka, nakapag-shift ka na sa pagiging isang lobo. I carried you to your room and covered you in blanket until you shifted back." Pagpapaliwanag niya. Nakahinga ako ng maluwag ng marinig ito. Mataman lang na nakatitig si Hunter sa akin. Kumunot ang nuo ko.
"Hindi lang ako makapaniwalang isa kang white wolf." Sambit ni Hunter. I remember seeing white fur in my paws before I blacked out.
"Bakit? Ano naman kung isa akong white wolf?" Nagtatakang tanong ko.
"There's only one white wolf born in a century. White wolves are very peculiar. They are extraordinary. They possessed certain attraction to unmated wolves." Hunter clench his fist.
"Attraction?"
"Yes, you're now a white wolf which means your scent is stronger and very alluring that attracts male wolves. But I won't let them come near you."
"So, I'm the only living white wolf?!" I exclaimed. This is so much to take. Ang dami nang nagbago sa buhay ko. I met Hunter and learned he's a werewolf. Then I found out I'm also one, then now? I'm a freaking white wolf!
"Perhaps. Meron pa naman sigurong nabubuhay na white wolf bukod sayo, since werewolves don't age like normal humans." Napatango nalang ako. Umusod palapit si Hunter sakin at ipinatong ang noo niya sa balikat ko. Naramdaman ko namang biglang nagbago ang mood niya.
"I was horrified. You were screaming in pain. Hindi ako nakatulog kagabi dahil sa tuwing ipipikit ko ang mga mata ko, naririnig ko ang sigaw mo. How you begged me to stop the pain. It will forever taunt me." Naramdaman ko ang pagtulo ng luha niya sa balikat ko. Hunter is crying?! My heart clenched. Kung ako siguro ang nasa posisyon niya, hindi ko rin kakayanin ang makita siyang masaktan.
"It's okay. I'm fine now. That won't happen again, I promise." I massage his scalp making circles to sooth him.
"I love you, Kyra. More than my life. You're my other half." He placed a soft kiss at the exposed skin. Narealize ko, ang swerte ko kay Hunter. Seloso man siya minsan, hindi parin matatawaran ang pagmamahal niya sa pamilya niya at sa akin.
"I love you too." I replied with no second thought and cupped his head to kiss him in the lips. He answered the kiss with a slow pace. He cupped the base of my neck to lead the kiss. I felt my wolf jump in joy urging me to do more, to let Hunter mark me and complete the mating process but I refused to do so.
The kiss became aggressive. Hunter is now hovering above me, the blanket was thrown on the floor. So basically, I'm leaning in the headboard and Hunter is kneeling above me, he's leaning down and I'm looking up at him. Hinawakan niya ang bewang ko at unti-unti akong hinila pahiga ng kama. He gave small kisses on my forehead, eyelids, nose and jaw. He's teasing me, I know. All I want is for him to kiss me in the lips.
"Hunter." I groaned and he smiled knowing I'm affected with his teasing.
"I love your skin. It's so soft." He whispered and nips the base of my neck.
"I know. Now, just kiss me. I want your lips!" I demanded. Both I and my wolf wants him.
Biglang bumangon si Hunter at sinuklay ang buhok niya. "We need to stop."
It's like a dejavu. Ganito din ang nangyari, noong nakaraang full moon. I was turned on and then he left me hanging, hot and bothered. Iniwas ko ang tingin sa kanya at lumapit siya sa tabi ko. He raised his hand to touch my cheek but he stopped and fisted it instead.
"Kyra." He starts. "You're not ready for this. You've shifted and the mating bond is stronger. Your scent, it drives me crazy. I don't think I can stop myself if we continue. My wolf is begging me to mark you, to show to everyone you're mine."
My heart softens. "I'm sorry. I didn't know its hard for you too."
"I can wait. But not for long. I can only hold myself for a short time." He pecked my lips and walked to the door.
"I'm going to run. Your scent is all over the room. Its not helping." To prove his point, he looks down to his bulge and I blush knowing its my fault.
Nagdesisyon akong maligo. Inamoy ko ang sarili, amoy pawis naman ako. Why does my scent smell good to Hunter? This mating thingy is really weird. I scrubbed myself clean and went down when I heard commotions coming from downstairs.
"Sino to? Ha?" Galit na tanong ni Anika kay Zeno habang hawak ang phone ni Zeno.
Zeno is seating in the sofa with Jake, and Aspen on either both of his sides. Para namang galit na boss itong si Anika na nakatayo sa harapan nila.
"Are you cheating on me? Akala ko ikaw na ang forever ko. Hindi pala. Nagkamali ako. I thought you love me? Why did you do this, Zee? I was willing to give everything to you. Sa dami ng gwapo at hot na lalaki sa paligid, sayo ko na-inlove! I hate you for doing this." Litansya ni Anika na umiiyak na.
Tumayo si Zeno at nilapitan si Anika. "You love me?"
"No! I don't love you anymore. Get away from me." Anika pushed Zeno away when he tried to touch her. Jake was trying not to laugh at the scene in front of him. It does look amusing to him. Aspen is shooking his head in disapproval and rolled his eyes. Bakit parang ang kalmado nila, eh, umiiyak na nga tong si Anika.
"Alam ko kung ano ang narinig ko. I know you love me and I love you too." Zeno hugged Anika.
"This is starting to sound cheesy." Jake commented earning a glare from Anika.
"Mahal mo ako? Kung ganun, bakit mo ako niloko kasama ang babaeng to? Mas maganda naman ako sa kanya ah." Humihikbing sambit ni Anika at tinuro ang screen ng phone ni Zeno.
"She's my patient. For Pete's sake, she's mated! I won't never cheat on you." Zeno explained. Lumiwanag ang mukha ni Anika at agad pinunasan ang mga luha niya.
"Iyon naman pala eh. Kung maka react naman itong si Anika, akala mo sila na." Komento ni Jake. Sinipa siya ni Anika sa binti.
"Girls being girls. They will always judge before asking." Aspen stood up and walked to my way. Saka Lang naman napansin ng lahat na nakatayo ako sa dulo ng hagdan.
"What are you feeling, Luna?" Aspen asked.
"I'm good. Thank you for your concern. Call me Kyra."
"Okay Kyra." He nodded.
"Yes! I will marry you!" Nabaling ang tingin ko kina Anika at Zeno na nagyayakapan na. Jake made a gagging sound.
"Wait, what?!" Lumapit ako sa kanila at hinila si Anika palayo kay Zeno.
"Zee just proposed and I said yes!" Anika exclaimed.
"We need to talk." Hinarap ko si Zeno at nag-excuse saka hinila si Anika sa kusina kung saan hindi kami maririnig ni Zeno. But for sure Aspen and Jake will hear us due to their heightened hearing.
"Are you out of your mind?!" Tanong ko kay Anika.
"Oo. Baliw na baliw ako kay Zee." She answered and I am ready to shook her in reality.
"Your insane. Ano ba ang naisip mo at pumayag kang magpakasal?"
"We love each other. That is more than enough reason to marry him. I love him besty. I never felt like this before. Mahilig man akong tumingin sa iba, sa bandang huli siya parin ang hinahanap ng mga mata ko." Sambit niya na nakatingin sa kawalan. My bestfriend is definitely inlove.
"I understand but you're only 20. You're too young for marriage. You haven't finish college yet. How about your parents? Hindi pa nga yata nila kilala si Zeno tapos magpapakasal na kayo? Ako ang nag-aalala para sa inyong dalawa eh."
"Don't worry besty. He's worth it at bukas na bukas din ipapakilala ko na siya." Ipnatong niya ang mga kamay sa balikat ko at ngumiti upang pagaanin ang pakiramdam ko.
"Hindi ko lang talaga lubos maisip na magpapakasal ka na." Sambit ko.
"You'll be my bridesmaid!" She exclaimed and hugged me. "Will you help me pick my gown?"
"Oo naman!" I smiled and pat her back. "Anyway, ilang taon na ba si Zeno?"
"27."
"27?! He's too old for you." Singhal ko. Hindi naman kasi halatang ganun na pala ang edad niya.
"Age doesn't matter in love my friend." She said dreamily and walked out of the kitchen back to Zeno. I never know she would be like this once she falls in love. I just hope Anika did the right thing and she won't regret marrying Zeno in the end.
"Hey, Jake. Asan si Hunter?" tanong ko kay Jake nang bumalik ako sa sala.
"Lumabas." Jake shook his head. "What did you do to him, Luna? His arousal was so strong when he left your room. I guess you made him sooooo hot again." Jake said with amusement and I smack his arms to stop him from mocking me.
"I feel sorry, okay! Stop making it worse." singhal ko sa kanya.
"Okay.. Okay.." Jake raised his hands in surrender. "Anyway, nagustuhan mo ba yung regalo ko Khyra? Pinag-isipan ko talaga iyon."
"Yeah right. Speaking of gifts, I should start unwrapping them." Iniwan ko na siya at umakyat na sa hagdan patungong kwarto kung saan ang mga regalo nila. Kahit nasa malayo ay dinig na dinig ko parin ang sigaw ni Jake.
"Basta siguraaduhin mong wala si Hunter kapag binuksan mo iyon!" Sigaw ni Jake mula sa ibaba ng hagdan.
"There's no need to shout! Lumakas na ang pandinig ko diba?" Sambit ko habang tinuturo ang tenga ko.
"Right, I totally forgot about that. You're now a werewolf!" Jake exclaimed. "Do you mind if I eat the food your mom cooked? You don't look like you're going to eat it any moment and its starting to get cold."
"Go on." I said.
"Thanks! I'm starving. You're the best Luna." Jake jumped in joy and run to the table.
"Don't eat it all. Give some to Aspen and to the lovers." Bilin ko at pumasok na sa kwarto.
