Secrets and Confusions
"Hello Kyra, dear." Rebecca, Hunter's mother, greeted and kissed my cheek.
"Good evening, Rebecca and Mr. De la Vega." I said hugging them both remembering that she wanted to be calledby her first name. Not ma'am or tita.
"Ano ka ba Kyra. I'm your second mother now. I like it better if you call me mom." Rebecca smiled sweetly while holding hands with her husband. They look so sweet together. I wonder if me and Hunter will still be having this kind of relationship when we grow old.
"Are you enjoying the food, Kyra? Rebecca prepared all of this and I hope that it reached your expectations." Diego, Hunter's father stated, looking down at his wife lovingly.
"I like it very much sir. Ang sarap nga po ng mga handa niyong pagkain. I would like to meet your cook. He sure is a talended cook." It was true. The food was delicious and all of the members were very approachable.
Diego laughed, "I'm glad to hear that. I remember, I haven't thank you for calming Hunter last full moon. He could have done more damage if you didn't come."
"Oh please. I wasn't that wild, father." Singit ni Hunter sa usapan.
"Yeah right but you almost punched me when I was trying to take Kyra away for safety." Aspen smirked looking like a good looking bad guy. Seriously, he should smile more.
"And you almost killed two pack warriors, Alpha. Idagdag mo pa nung tinulak mo ako sa pader." Dagdag ni Jake na mukhang nag I-enjoy sa pang-aasar kay Hunter.
"But according to my son, he wasn't that wild. What more he would be if he become furious." Diego laughed together with the people in our table.
"He still looks great when he's in a wild state though." Pagtatanggol ko kay Hunter.
"I have a very sweet mate." Hunter kissed my cheek earning a blush from me. "And father, don't tell me you were any better than me when you and mom were still teenagers. Kanino pa ba ako magmamana diba?"
"Exactly!" Rebecca retorted.
"Mom, I want to find my mate. I want her now." Russell spoked out of the blue still holding his lollipop.
Everyone who heard laughed and I realized I'm starting to love this family which will be my family.
Pagkatapos mag dinner ay napagdisisyonan na ni Hunter na ihatid ako at si Anika, sasabihin na din namin ang totoo kay mama.
"Are you ready?" Hunter asked looking in my way upon parking his car in front of our house.
"Can I say no?" Pagdadalawang-isip ko. Kinakabahan kasi talaga ako. I'm really going to tell my mother everything. Hope she'll take it easy.
"Tara na. Basta nasa likod mo lang ako besty." Biglang nagsalita si Anika na nakaupo sa likod ng sasakyan. Kanina pa kasi siya nakatitig sa phone niya at parang baliw na nakangiti mag-isa. Hindi ko na siguro kailangang sabihin kung sino ang katext niya. It was very obvious. Zeno, her love at first sight.
Bumaba si Hunter sa sasakyan at pinagbuksan ako. Hinawakan niya ang kaliwang kamay ko para siguro pagaanin ang pakiramdam ko. I smiled nodding my head to the door.The three of us was greeted with the smell of baking. Nagbi-bake nanaman siguro si mama sa kusina.
I inhaled deeply, "Ma! I'm home!" Sigaw ko mula sa sala.
I saw her poke her head in the door and her whole body afterwards with a baked set of cupcakes in her hands.
"Good evening tita." Anika waved.
"Hi, Anika. Sino pala yang kasama niyo, anak? Is he the guy making you so happy this past days?" My mom asked with a knowing look in her face.
"Correct ka diyan tita!" Sambit ni Anika.
"Anika!" Saway ko sa bestfriend kong napaka daldal.
"Hintayin niyo nalang ako sa sala at dadalhan ko kayo ng binake ko." My mom smiled and went back to the kitchen.
"Whoo! That went well. Mabait naman pala ang mama mo babe kaya hindi ka na dapat kabahan. I know she'll take it well." Sambit ni Hunter na hinila ako sa sofa samantalang si Anika naman ay busy sa phone niya. Hunter was rubbing my back slowly when my mom entered with the cupcakes she promised.
"Anong pangalan mo, iho?" Tanong ni mama na umupo sa katabing sofa chair ni Anika.
"I'm Hunter De la Vega and I'm Kyra's..." tumingin sakin si Hunter na parang nagtatanong kung sasabihin ba niyang mag mate kami o mag boyfriend-girlfriend.
"Kyra's boyfriend perhaps?" Mom asked.
"Ma, may importante kang dapat malaman." Seryosong sambit ko.
"And what is it?" Tanong ni mama tapos biglang nanlaki ang mga mata niya. "Please don't tell me you're pregnant, Ky. Swear! I'm going to cut your allowance."
Anika burst out laughing while Hunter just smiled.
"Relax, ma. Hindi po ako buntis."
"Kung hindi ka buntis, anong sasabihin mo? Do you want to get married?"panghuhula nanaman niya. Ngayon lang kasi ako nagdala ng lalaki sa bahay kaya siguro hindi sanay si mama at kung ano-ano ang naiisip niya.
"Ma, please stop assuming things. Promise me, you'll be calm and open-minded." Nag nod nalang si mama. Buti nalang at wala siyang sakit gaya ng heart attack or hypertension.
I felt Hunter hold my hand above his thighs but my mom doesn't say anything about it.
"Una po sa lahat, I don't know if you'll believe us but Hunter is a werewolf." I looked at mom waiting for any reaction when Anika spoke.
"And they are mates!" Anika blurt out. I glared at her and she mouthed sorry.
"You have a mate." Mom said softly her eyes swelling like she's going to cry any moment.
"What's wrong ma? You're not afraid or anything? You don't even look shock." I asked concerned and confused at the same time. I expected her not to believe me but she's acting like she knows werewolves exist.
"Sa tingin ko wala na akong choice kundi sabihin sayo ang totoo, anak. I promised your father I'm going to tell you this on your birthday but I guess that won't happen anymore. I'm sorry I lied." She explained and wiped her tears.
"Wait... Wala po akong maintindihan. Are you telling us, you already know about werewolves?" I aksed confused.
"Yes, Kyra because your father is one of them."
Everyone quieted. I'm sure I stopped breathing for a second. My father is a werewolf meaning there's a big possibility I'm also a werewolf. I'm 17 and will be 18 next week but I'm only learning this now. I'm not angry at my mother, I'm just shock. All this time, they kept this big part of my life a secret.
"I'm sorry, anak." My mom looked really guilty, tears running down her face.
"Gusto ko pong malaman ang lahat." I bit my lip to stop myself from crying. Hunter is making circles in my back to sooth me. I'm grateful he's with me to make me feel better.
"Your father and I are mates. He's not part of any pack. He's a rouge." Mom explained. Kumunot ang nuo ko dahil hindi ko alam ang ibig sabihin ng rogue. Napansin ito ni Hunter kaya siya na ang nagpaliwanag.
"Rogues are loan wolves. They don't like the idea of Alpha's and packs so they roam the forest or live in the city in groups. Some rogues are dangerous, they like attacking packs." Hunter explained.
"Pero mabait ang papa mo, Kyra. He's against the rules of rogues so he ran away and found me and then we had you. You're the best thing that happened to us. " My mom started crying again ang I sat next to her and hugged her. She always gets emotional when its about my father.
"Pano po namatay si papa? Mula bata ako, hindi ko alam kung anong ikinamatay niya. Ang alam ko lang, bigla nalang siyang umalis at hindi na bumalik."
"Your father was murdered." She said and started crying hysterically. "The rogues he once with killed him, Kyra. They took him away and then I felt the mating bond break. That's the time I know he's dead." My mother said between sobs.
"Pero bakit?" I asked confused and let my tear flow.
"Hindi ko rin alam, anak. I know your father is a good man."
I hugged her and started crying in her shoulders. Its been 10 years since we lost him but the pain still feels new. Nang makalma kami ni mama ay bumalik na ako sa tabi ni Hunter. Tahimik lang si Anika sa upuan niya na halatang nagulat din sa mga nalaman niya.
"Then, it's not possible for Kyra to shift for the first time on her birthday. Normal wolves shift at 16 but she's half human so she's going to shift at 18." Hunter said beside me.
"Whoa!! Besty, you're going to be a werewolf!!" Anika's face lit up.
"Will it be painful?" I looked up to Hunter beside me waiting for an answer and it took him long to speak.
"I'll be with you." That's all he needs to say to make me realize the answer is yes. Shifting to a werewolf is painful at isang linggo nalang ang natitira bago ang 18th birthday ko. How am I going to prepare myself?

Hanggang ngayon ay hindi parin nag si-sink in sakin ang katotohanang isa akong half werwolf at may posibilidad na magbabagong anyo ako ng unang beses sa kaarawan ko. Kaya pala mula nuon ay malakas na ang pandinig ko, hindi nga lang kasing talas ng kay Hunter.
May mga katanungan parin sa isip ko na gusto ko nang masagot. Bakit nila pinatay ang tatay ko? May nagawa ba siyang kasalanan sa kanila? Dahil ba umalis siya sa pagiging isang rogue? Everything is getting complicated as long as I think about it.
"Stop over thinking, babe." Hunter kissed my forehead. Since it's saturday, nasa pack house kami sa labas ng pool para sabihin kila Jake at Aspen ang lahat ng nalaman namin.
"Kyra is a half she-wolf but let's not forget that there is also a chance she won't be shifting." Jake stated rubbing his jaw.
Sumandal naman si Aspen sa upuan niya at nag-isip din.
"A werewolf's genes is stronger than human's so I'm certain she will shift. You said you have heightened hearing? Then I conclude Kyra have her father's genes more than her mother's and after 3 days of her birthday, she will be in heat and then we all know what will happen next." My jaw dropped while staring at Aspen who was nodding his head while speaking.
"Whoa! You're a genius!!" Sigaw ni Anika na manghang nakatingin kay Aspen.
"You don't need to be a genius to realize all the stuffs he said." Naningkit ang mga mata ni Anika nang magsalita si Jake.
"And you don't need to be a genius to know I'm a human to be familiar with werewolf stuffs." Anika retorted with a smirk and Jake gritted his teeth.
Huminga ako ng malalim habang pinagmamasdan sina Anika at Jake. Tumayo si Aspen at hinawakan ang braso ni Anika.
"Let's go find Zeno." Aspen started walking to the pack hospital with Anika beside him walking like an excited child.
"Si Zeno lang pala ang solusyon." Sambit ko.
"I think I need to go. I feel like a third wheeler here." Tumayo na din si Jake at akmang aalis na.
"Ha? Bakit?" Nagtatakang tanong ko.
"I'm tired of watching you, love bugs. You owe me this one Alpha and please, don't excite yourself too much. Your arousal is irritating my nose." He said and walked away leaving Hunter and me with a blushing cheeks.
"That a**hole doesn't know how to shut his mouth." Hunter said and looked down at me noticing my blushing cheeks.
"Are you blushing because of the fact that I'm aroused?" Hunter smiled and made me sit in his lap and if possible, I blushed even more because I can feel his little Hunter poking me.
"You don't have to point that out." I said smacking his chest and tried to get out of his hold but he tightened his grip around my waist.
"Don't move. You're making it harder for me, babe." He said with a deep voice.
"Why are you even aroused? Like all the time? Nag-uusap lang naman tayo dito. Wala naman akong ginawa, ah..."
"You don't have to do anything. Just you sitting beside me is enough to turn me on. Yout don't know how hard it is to sit beside you when your scent is making my wolf surface and lose control. And please stop moving, it's making me want to rub against you." He whispered and started rubbing my back controlling his breathing.
I just sighed and rested my head against his chest. I'll never get use to Hunter dirty talking. It always makes me uncomfortable and hot at the same time and he seems okay with it like talking about those things are nothing. What a hormonal werewolf.
"Anong iniisip mo?" Maya-maya ay tanong ni Hunter.
"Iniisip ko lang naman kung gaano ka-aggressive yang utak mo." Nakangiting sagot ko habang nakatingin sa pool.
"Only for you." He said. I felt him kiss my head and smile.
