Book 2: So, this is Forever

21 – Let's make some babies

"Come on, my love, gently set her down," Becky encourages Freen to release their daughter.

"But babe, I'm not sure I can let go." Freen playfully feigns a cry, adding a cute pout.

"Dada, I'm just off to school," Zea declares, reaching up to affectionately caress Freen's cheeks. "I promise to behave, so don't worry."

Becky chuckles, "Your daughter is even more mature about this."

Freen rolls her eyes and places Zea on the ground. But before letting her go, she turns Zea to face her. "Alright, sweetheart, make sure to listen to your teacher. If anything feels wrong, if you feel unwell or unsafe, you call for us, okay?"

"The school isn't dangerous," Becky comments.

Freen looks at her wife, raising an eyebrow. "Promise me, Zea?"

"Yes, Dada, I promise," Zea smiles reassuringly at her mother.

Becky gently squeezes Freen's hand in reassurance, adding, "And if you need anything at all, Zea, don't hesitate to let your teachers know. They're there to help you."

Zea nods, her smile unwavering. "I will, Mom."

Freen can't help but smile at the exchange between mother and daughter.

Becky bends down to Zea's eye level and places a tender kiss on her forehead. "We love you, sweetheart. Have a great day at school."

Zea reciprocates the affection, hugging both her moms. "Love you too, Mommy. Love you, Dada."

As Zea heads off to school, Becky turns to Freen with a soft grin. "See? She's growing up so well."

Freen chuckles, "Yeah, but it doesn't make it any easier to let go." They share a loving glance, knowing that every step their daughter takes toward independence is a testament to their parenting.

With a final wave to Zea, they watch her disappear into the school gates, ready for a day of new adventures.

Becky was tearing up, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears, and Freen suddenly noticed it. Concerned, she gently touches Becky's arm.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Freen asks, her voice filled with tenderness.

Becky takes a deep breath, trying to compose herself. "It's just... seeing her all grown up and heading off to school, it's a lot to take in. Our little girl is not so little anymore."

Freen pulls Becky into a comforting embrace, understanding the mix of emotions. "I know, love. It's a bittersweet moment. We've done an amazing job as parents, and she's ready for this next chapter."

Becky nods, wiping away a tear. "I know, it's just... it feels like she was just a toddler yesterday."

Freen smiles, planting a soft kiss on Becky's forehead. "Time flies, doesn't it? But we'll always be there for her, every step of the way."

Becky returns the smile, grateful for Freen's support. "You're right, baby." and she hugged her wife. "Come on, let's go home now, before you decide to camp in the parking slot and wait for your daughter." Becky laughed.

"At least I didn't cry" Freen teased Becky." Freen teases, giving Becky a playful nudge.

"I birthed that child, so I have every right," she pouted.

Freen shot back with a smug grin. "And I got you pregnant, as I promised when we were young," Freen smirked proudly.

"Of course, you did," Becky pecked a kiss on Freen's lips. "Let's go home, babe."

Freen tugged her hand, "Hold on, let me wipe away a few more of those tears," she said, chuckling, keeping the playful tease alive with her wife.

"Enough of that, or you'll be sleeping on the couch tonight," Becky warned, raising her eyebrows in mock seriousness.

Freen raised her hands in mock surrender, "No couch please. I prefer cuddling with my beautiful wife than with the pillows of the couch".

"I birthed that child, so I have every right," she pouted.

Freen countered with a smug grin. "And I got you pregnant, just like I promised back when we were young," Freen said proudly.

"Of course, you did," Becky pecked a kiss on Freen's lips. "Let's head home now."

As they drove home, the playful banter continued, creating a lighthearted and joyful atmosphere.

The first day of Zea's school brought a mix of thoughts to the couple.

"Oh! I forgot to tell Zea not to entertain anyone who flirts with her, boys or girls. I better remind her later," Freen said as they settled on the couch. Having intentionally blocked the day for this special moment, they decided to take the day off from work.

Becky burst into laughter, "Oh my God. Our daughter is six years old. No one would be flirting around her." She playfully sat on Freen's lap, her hands encircling the back of her head.

Freen joined in the laughter, recognizing the humorous absurdity of her concern. "I guess I'm just overthinking it. But hey, it's never too early for some parental advice, right?"

Becky gave Freen a playful squeeze, "True, but let's save the flirting talk for her teenage years, okay? Right now, our focus should be on celebrating her first day."

Freen grinned, "You're right, as always. Our little girl is growing up." Freen then kissed Becky's shoulder, saying with a suggestive look, "Maybe we can go to our room and make more babies."

Becky playfully slapped Freen's shoulder, "That's not how we made Zea," and laughed.

"But, well, can we try? We have the entire day to ourselves," Freen grinned, injecting a playful and affectionate vibe into the moment.

"Hmmm, let me think," Becky played along with a mischievous twinkle in her eye.

Freen wasn't having any of it. Swiftly, she lifted her wife, declaring with determination, "No more thinking. Let's try making babies."

Becky squealed in surprise and delight as Freen effortlessly lifted her. Eager and willing, she surrendered to the passion and intimacy of making love to her wife.

And so, they earnestly and passionately tried— not just once, but for five exhilarating rounds. The air was filled with laughter, whispers, and the shared joy of being intimately connected.

Exhausted yet content, they eventually collapsed, breathless, in each other's arms, basking in the afterglow of their love-filled escapade.

______________

Becky's POV

I woke up feeling the afternoon heat on my face through the curtains. Attempting to move and open my eyes, I sensed a familiar weight over me. Freen's head was resting on my chest, her mouth still over my breast, and I could feel her warm breath on my nipples.

I shook my head with a silent chuckle, "So you slept again, playing with your favorites," I mumbled.

Carefully, I shifted her to my side and covered her naked body, noticing the clear marks I had left earlier. A smile crept onto my face at the sensual memory.

As I admired Freen's peaceful sleep, my stomach growled, reminding me that we had missed lunch while being lost in each other's love.

Deciding to seize the opportunity while Freen continued her peaceful slumber, I gently untangled myself and slipped out of bed. The soft patter of the shower was soon heard as I treated myself to a quick revitalizing shower.

The warm water cascaded over me, washing away the remnants of our passionate moments. As I dried off, I couldn't help but feel a lingering warmth and contentment.

After wrapping myself in some comfortable house clothes, I headed to the kitchen to prepare a late lunch for both of us.

As I descended the stairs, Anna, greeted me, "Good Afternoon, Ma'am Becky. Anything I could help you with?"

"Hi Anna, Good Afternoon. Sure, could you help me prepare a quick late lunch for me and Freen? I'll be the one to cook, but I could use a hand with the prep work," I smiled at her. I enjoyed cooking, especially for Zea and Freen, but the cutting of ingredients and post-cooking cleanup were tasks I wasn't particularly fond of.

Anna nodded, "Certainly, Ma'am Becky. What are you planning to cook?"

"I thought of making some pasta with a light garlic and olive oil sauce, and perhaps a simple salad on the side," I replied.

"Sounds delicious. I'll start the preparations," Anna declared.

As we worked together in the kitchen, the enticing aroma of garlic filled the air. The teamwork made the process quicker, allowing us to create a delightful late lunch for Freen and me.

Once the meal was ready, I carefully arranged a portion on a tray. With Anna's help, I carried the tray upstairs, determined to surprise Freen with a meal in bed. The bedroom welcomed me with serene quietness, and I set the tray on the bedside table.

"Thank you, Anna. You've been a great help," I expressed my gratitude before heading to wake Freen gently, ready to share this intimate meal together in the comfort of our bedroom.

Quietly entering the bedroom, I found Freen still peacefully asleep. The soft glow of the afternoon sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm ambiance in the room. I approached the bedside with the tray, adorned with a plate of pasta, a crisp salad, and a small vase of fresh flowers.

Gently placing the tray on the bedside table, I leaned over to wake Freen with a tender kiss. "Hey, sleepyhead, I've brought us a late lunch," I whispered, letting my lips linger on hers.

Freen stirred, her eyes slowly fluttering open. A soft smile spread across her face as she took in the sight of the carefully arranged meal. "You're spoiling me, love," she murmured, her voice filled with affection.

"Well, you deserve it," I replied, running my fingers through her hair. "Especially after all your efforts to make babies earlier." I couldn't help but chuckle at the playful reminder of our shared moments.

My wife laughed at my banter, the sound filling the room with warmth and joy.

I handed her some clothes before we started our meal. As Freen sat up against the headboard, I arranged the tray on our laps. The enticing aroma of the pasta and the vibrant colors of the salad created a delightful tableau.

We shared a quiet moment, savoring each bite, exchanging smiles, and reveling in the intimacy of this impromptu meal in our haven.

"This tastes good, my love," Freen expressed her appreciation.

"I'm glad you loved what I cooked, Babe," I replied and kissed her on the cheeks.

As we finished, Freen set aside the tray, her eyes locking onto mine. "Care to share a shower with me, baby?"

"Huh! Sorry to bring your hopes down, but I already showered," I said smirking, teasing my wife with a playful expression.

Freen pouted playfully, "Well, aren't you a sneaky one? Leaving me to sleep while you get all refreshed and clean."

I chuckled, "Sorry, babe! Now go, take a shower. I want to discuss something with you before we pick up Zea later."

Freen raised her eyebrows, "Deal. But first..." She leaned over, planting a lingering kiss on my lips.

We lost ourselves in the passion of the moment, making out like teenagers for a few minutes until I gently put a stop to it. "Baby, come on, go take a shower now," I giggled, teasingly nudging her towards the bathroom.

Freen reluctantly got up, shooting me a playful look. "You're just delaying the inevitable, you know that, right?"

I winked, "You can have me later tonight, I promise."

As Freen headed to the shower, I couldn't help but smile, grateful for the love and laughter that filled our shared moments.

With the plates cleared away, I returned to our room, gearing up for the conversation I had in mind. I hoped Freen would appreciate my idea, eager for the chance to deepen our connection and share something meaningful together.

Becky's POV

As I waited for Freen, I grabbed a book from the bedside table and immersed myself in its pages. The quiet moments allowed me to unwind and focus on the storyline, creating a tranquil atmosphere in our room.

After a while, the sound of the shower ceased, and I knew Freen would be emerging soon. I bookmarked my page and set the book aside, anticipating our upcoming conversation.

Freen eventually exited our walk-in closet, looking refreshed and wearing a casual dress. Her easy smile conveyed readiness for the afternoon ahead. "All set to pick up Zea?" I asked, glancing up from my book.

Freen nodded, "Absolutely. But before that, you wanted to talk about something?"

I gestured for her to join me on the bed, and she took a seat beside me. "Yeah, I've been thinking. As you've said earlier...  let's make some babies," I smiled at her.

"Ei! you should've joined me in the shower," she mischievously said.

I giggled, "Baby, it's not that. I mean it literally. I want to have another baby. Six years is a good age gap between siblings. Zea can have a brother or sister by next year if the IVF is a success." I held Freen's hand, "What do you think, babe?"

She seemed shocked with my suggestion, and her answer was more shocking.

Freen's eyes widened, shock etched across her face. "No?" I repeated, a bit taken aback.

She drew a deep breath and gently clasped my hand. "Becky, it's not that I don't want more kids with you. It's just that..." She sighed, pacing over to the seat near our balcony door.

I rose and followed her, settling onto her lap. "Baby, share your concerns with me so I can understand. Remember, no more secrets, no more overthinking. We promised to be open with each other."

Her grip on my waist tightened, and she closed her eyes, letting her head fall back against the wall. "I'm afraid, babe."

I cradled her face and gently encouraged her to lift her head and meet my gaze. "What are you afraid of, baby?"

She sighed deeply, "Baby, it's just that during our IVF process, it was revealed that I have a septate uterus, and it's not recommended for childbirth."

I nodded, "Yes, I remember. And, I never anticipated you carrying our child, babe. I'll take on that role. Don't be afraid," I reassured her.

"That's the thing, I'm afraid of you carrying our child again," she confided, our foreheads meeting in shared vulnerability.

I began to truly grasp the magnitude of Freen's fears. My own experience with childbirth was overshadowed by the haunting specter of an Amniotic Fluid Embolism, a silent threat that had placed both Zea and me in grave danger.

"Baby, when Zea arrived, it was undeniably one of my happiest moments, but it was also marred by a deep undercurrent of worry. It felt as if my heart was on the verge of surrendering at any given second. That day, the very thought of losing not just our unborn angel but also you was a nightmare I can't bear to revisit," she confided, her words carrying the weight of reliving that traumatic day.

"I understand the immense pain you carry, baby," I responded with empathy, recognizing the depth of her emotions. Imagining myself in her position, I could appreciate the gravity of her concerns. "Babe, the doctor said that the odds of my case occurring are one in eight thousand, and it's an unpredictable and unpreventable anomaly," I offered, attempting to inject a modicum of reassurance.

"I'm paralyzed by the fear of taking that chance. What if I lose you? I can't, baby. The mere thought of losing you is unbearable," she confessed, sealing her words with a tender kiss on my cheeks. Her eyes conveyed the burden of fear and uncertainty, as if the weight of our shared history bore down on her.

I held Freen close, embracing the warmth of our shared history. The room felt soft, acknowledging the tender honesty between us.

"Baby," I whispered, my words a gentle melody, "I can't promise a life without uncertainties, but I promise to face them with you, step by step. Yes, the past was tough, but it won't define our future. We've faced tough times together and come out stronger."

Freen's eyes met mine, a silent plea lingering in their depths. "I'm scared of putting you through that again," she admitted, the vulnerability in her voice tugging at my heartstrings.

I placed a tender kiss on her cheeks, "My love, I understand your fears, and I'm in awe of your love. But we won't let the fear of what might be rob us of the beauty of what can be. We'll take careful steps, consult with the best experts, and ensure our journey is safe and filled with love."

A soft exhale escaped her, emotions swirling on her face like a gentle breeze. "I just need some time to process this, babe It's a lot to take in."

"Take all the time you need, baby. We're married, we're a team, and we'll figure this out together," I assured her, holding her hand. "I may not have all the answers, but I have an abundance of love for you."

As we sat there, the weight of our talk lingered, but there was also a sense of hope. I leaned in and kissed my wife.

As our lips met in a passionate exchange, it felt like an unspoken vow, a promise of shared love that transcended any uncertainty. In that moment of connection, our worries seemed to dissipate, and the strength of our bond became a source of solace.

Breaking the kiss, Freen looked at me with a mixture of gratitude and affection. "Thank you, baby. I love you."

A smile played on my lips as I held her close, "And I love you, more than words can convey."

We lingered in that embrace, finding comfort in the silent understanding that threaded our hearts together. The weight of the conversation still hung in the air, but there was a newfound resilience, a determination to face the unknown with the unwavering support of each other.

With a shared glance, we decided to shift our focus to the immediate task at hand – picking up Zea. Together, we embarked on the journey to pick up Zea, the car enveloped in a contemplative silence. The hum of the engine provided a rhythmic backdrop to our thoughts, and the passing scenery became a quiet companion on our shared introspection. The unspoken words lingered in the air, yet our intertwined hands conveyed a promise to face whatever lay ahead, united.
