Book 2: So, this is Forever

16 – I'll play nice

Becky's POV

Waking up to the sun in my face, I slowly opened my eyes. Peering over to the other side of the bed, it was empty—no sign of my wife.

Casually strolling around the room, I spotted a note on the bedside table. "Up early, hit the home gym for a quick workout. Last night was awesome. Thanks, Baby. Love you. Hope I didn't go too hard with my BB."

Reading my wife's note, I felt a bit sore down there, on her BB, but couldn't help but smile, recalling how Freen had taken the reins until dawn. Instead of being the one in control, she claimed the spotlight again. "Naughty wife, I'll get my payback on your birthday Freen," I chuckled with a playful smirk.

I headed to the bathroom to grab a quick shower, letting the warm water ease the remaining tension from the night before. The thought of Freen's playful note lingered in my mind as I dressed, and a mischievous grin found its way to my face.

As the warm water embraced me in the shower, I could feel the remnants of the previous night's tension slowly washing away. Freen's playful note continued to dance in my thoughts as I got dressed, and an involuntary mischievous grin spread across my face.

Making my way downstairs to the kitchen, I decided to make breakfast for us. I whipped up a batch of pancakes, generously pouring extra syrup on Freen's, just the way she liked them, and adding extra chocolate chips for Zea, our little bundle of joy. The sweet aroma wafted through the air as I set the table, eagerly anticipating the joy these pancakes would bring to my two favorite people.

Before diving into breakfast, I headed to Zea's room. Knowing it was the weekend, I allowed her a few more precious minutes of sleep. Gently nudging her awake, I whispered, "Morning, sleepyhead. Pancakes are waiting for you downstairs."

Her eyes sparkled with excitement, "Good Morning Mommy" and she planted a morning kiss on my cheek. As we made our way to the dining area, I noticed Freen emerging from our bedroom, looking fresh from her own shower.

With a smile, Freen approached us, and as we got closer, she gently lifted Zea into the air. "Good morning, my sweetheart," she exclaimed, causing Zea to giggle.

"Dadaaaaa, I might fall!" Zea exclaimed, hanging onto her mother's hand for dear life, laughter filling the room as our cozy family breakfast unfolded.

Freen chuckled, holding Zea securely in her arms. "I won't let you fall, sweetie," she declared, her eyes meeting mine, and a shared sense of warmth and contentment filled the room.

Seated around the table, Zea enthusiastically dove into her chocolate chip-studded pancake, her joy infectiously spreading to all of us. Freen and I exchanged a glance, silently savoring these simple, precious moments that wove the fabric of our complete and happy family.

After enjoying our breakfast, we geared up for our shopping spree and movie day, but not before I shared my plans for Freen's upcoming birthday.

"Babe, I was thinking of planning a family outing for your birthday next week—just three days would do," I suggested.

"I would love that, Baby, but I was also considering a party with friends since Noey is back from California for the weekend," she replied.

"How about we do both, baby? We can throw a party and then head to the resort for our family outing," I suggested, a smile playing on my lips. The idea of combining a lively celebration with friends and extended family, followed by the tranquil intimacy of quality time together at the resort, seemed like the perfect blend to make her birthday truly special.

Freen's eyes sparkled with delight at the idea. "That sounds perfect, Baby! A party with everyone we love, and then some quiet family time away—it's the best of both worlds," she exclaimed, her enthusiasm matching mine.

As we set out for our day of shopping and movies, the anticipation for Freen's birthday celebration added an extra layer of excitement to the air. Zea, in her own joyful way, chattered about her wish list for the day and the movie she hoped to watch.

Freen's POV

With our shopping bags in hand from other luxury brand, we ventured into another one, the opulent world of Dior, an extravagant haven that my wife adores. The gleaming displays and luxurious ambiance heightened the sense of anticipation.

As we explored the boutique, Becky's eyes lit up with delight at the exquisite pieces on display. She gracefully glided through the racks, appreciating the intricate details and impeccable craftsmanship. Zea, wide-eyed and curious, took in the grandeur of it all, her fingers delicately tracing the luxurious fabrics.

Brecky and I exchanged smiles, sharing a moment of mutual appreciation for the elegance surrounding us. It was a shopping experience unlike any other, a blend of indulgence and celebration.

Zea, with her innate flair, eagerly tried on a few items, reveling in the extravagance of Dior's creations. My wife and I, equally enchanted, couldn't help but be swept up in the allure of the moment. It wasn't just shopping; it was a curated experience, a memory in the making.

Leaving Dior with carefully wrapped packages, we continued our day, our hands adorned with the distinct touch of luxury.

In the enchanting restaurant we selected for a leisurely lunch, a warm ambiance cocooned us, and the air was infused with the delightful aroma of freshly prepared dishes, creating an inviting atmosphere. Our server, a personable and charismatic young woman, approached our table with a cheerful demeanor as she gracefully took our orders. Little did I anticipate that her friendliness would soon take an unexpected turn.

When she brought our meals, her gaze lingered a tad too long on my wife, Becky. Casting an inviting smile, she initiated a conversation with a noticeable twinkle in her eye. "I hope you enjoy your meal, and if there's anything else I can get for you, don't hesitate to ask," she remarked, her tone carrying an unmistakably flirtatious undertone, and her hands became a little too familiar on Becky's back.

Becky, always gracious and polite, responded with a smile, seemingly oblivious to the subtle shift in the waitress's demeanor. I couldn't help but observe the lingering glances and the slightly exaggerated leaning, creating a blend of amusement and mild discomfort within me.

As the waitress left the table, my wife turned to me with a playful expression. "Did you happen to notice that?" she inquired, her eyes gleaming with amusement.

"How could I not?" I retorted, rolling my eyes. "And you're even flirting back with her?" I smirked as I plated food for our daughter.

"What's flirting, Dada?" Zea asked, looking at me curiously.

"It's your mommy wanting to have another wife besides me," I explained to my daughter.

"Freeeeennn!" I widened my eyes at her.

"What?" Freen questioned, rolling her eyes once more.

"Mommy, I don't want another Dada," Zea uttered, pouting as she looked at me.

Freen laughed, "See, you can't replace me," she declared.

"Mommy, do you really want another wife?" my daughter continued to ask, looking at Becky with such expressive eyes.

Amused by our daughter's candid reaction, Becky gently tousled Zea's hair and added, "No, sweetheart. Even if your Dada is a bit naughty at times, no one can replace her."

Zea sighed in relief, her pout transforming into a radiant smile. "Yehey!" she exclaimed, wiggling on her seat.

Both Becky and I shared a laugh at our daughter's spirited response.

Just as the laughter subsided, the same waitress approached our table. "Hi there, how do you find the food?" she inquired, once again placing her hands on my wife's shoulder.

I was about to react when I heard a voice beat me to it. "You are nice. But, please don't touch my Mommy. Only me and Dada can touch her." Zea declared with a determined pout looking at the waitress.

The waitress, taken aback by the unexpected declaration, withdrew her hands, a hint of embarrassment flickering across her face. "I-I'm sorry if I crossed a line," she stammered, glancing between us.

Before Becky could respond, I interjected, "It's alright, but consider yourself warned," looking at the waitress with a firm expression.

Becky shook her head, attempting to diffuse any tension. "Sorry for that, these two are just possessive, the food is great anyways," she said, trying to steer the conversation back to a lighter note.

The waitress, now more cautious, managed a small smile. "I understand. I'll be more mindful. If there's anything else you need, just let me know," she offered, retreating with a slightly apologetic nod.

As the waitress left, Becky and I exchanged a knowing look, and a shared chuckle rippled through our table. Zea, seemingly satisfied with her protective stance, returned to enjoying her meal. The incident added a touch of unexpected drama to our dining experience, turning it into a story we'd likely recount with laughter in the days to come.

"Happy Birthday, Buddy," Noey greeted warmly as she approached Freen, enveloping her in a heartfelt hug.

"Thanks, Noey. I'm so glad you could make it," Freen replied with a genuine smile.

One by one, their close-knit gang arrived at Freen's Bar, specially closed for the occasion to host her birthday celebration.

"Hey, babe, where are you? Our friends are starting to arrive," Freen texted her wife with anticipation.

"Oh my God, Freen, it's been way too long!" Nam exclaimed, capturing Freen's attention and drawing her away from her phone with a burst of excitement.

Freen's eyes sparkled with joy as she embraced Nam, the warmth of their friendship rekindling in that moment. The atmosphere in the bar buzzed with laughter, the familiar chatter of old friends catching up like a melody of nostalgia.

With each new arrival, the air filled with joy, and the shared memories of their tight-knit group added to the festive ambiance. The bar, adorned with decorations for Freen's special day, provided a perfect backdrop for the reunion.

Amidst the lively conversations, a sudden hush fell over the room as Becky made her entrance. She looked stunning in a cute pink dress that accentuated her curves and assets. Carrying a big bouquet of flowers and a gift box, she became the focal point as everyone's gaze followed her graceful stride toward her wife.

"Happy birthday, my love," Becky whispered, placing a tender kiss on Freen's cheek.

"Thank you, babe. What an entrance! Let me make sure they know you're mine," Freen replied with a mischievous grin, sealing her sentiment with a kiss that earned an enthusiastic cheer from everyone in the room.

"What a flaunt!" Noey screamed, adding to the jubilant atmosphere.

"She's all yours, Freen, we know!" Nop shouted, contributing to the chorus of laughter and cheers that filled the celebratory space.

Becky, with a playful twinkle in her eye, seamlessly joined in the laughter as she settled next to Freen. The room pulsated with the energy of friendship, love, and celebration.

As the night unfolded, the group immersed themselves in shared stories, clinking glasses, and the lively music that filled the air. The bar transformed into a haven for laughter and camaraderie, its atmosphere alive with the rhythm of festivities.

Eager to explore the thoughtful gift from Becky, Freen began to unwrap it when her wife gently intervened, a mysterious smile playing on her lips. "That's for your eyes only, baby," Becky whispered, casting an air of anticipation and intrigue.

Sensing a moment of intimacy, the group respectfully shifted their attention to another round of toasts and cheers. Freen's eyes met Becky's, silently exchanging promises of shared secrets and cherished moments.

However, as the night continued to unfold, an unfamiliar persona entered the scene, catching the attention of the guests.

All eyes turned to the alluring lady now walking towards the couple. She confidently snaked her hands onto Freen's shoulder, pulling her to face her.

"Happy Birthday, Sam!" she greeted with a sensual kiss on Freen's cheeks.

Startled by the unexpected presence and actions of the newcomer, Freen tried to evade, though unsuccessfully. It was evident that she felt uneasy.

"N-nita! What are you doing here?" Freen nervously asked, glancing at her wife. Becky, now wearing a furious expression, shot daggers with her gaze.

"I'm still an owner of the bar. I heard it was closed for your birthday celebration, so I decided to pop up and greet you," Nita explained, lingering her fingers sensually on Freen's shoulder, her demeanor seemingly indifferent to the onlookers.

"Thank you for the greetings. And I am Freen, not Sam. I already explained why I had to use a different name before. By the way, this is Rebecca Patricia Armstrong Chankimha. You already know her, but let me reintroduce her—she is my wife," Freen declared.

"Hi, Nita. We meet again. Thank you for wishing my wife a happy birthday," Becky asserted, emphasizing the word 'wife.'

"Hi there! Well, you'll always be Sam to me, you know," Nita insisted, injecting a tense atmosphere into the room.

Becky, though grappling with an internal storm, maintained a composed exterior, resolute in not allowing the sudden intrusion to cast a shadow on the celebratory atmosphere. A quick glance exchanged with Freen conveyed a silent understanding.

"Well, whether it's Sam or Freen, tonight is dedicated to celebrating my wife," she declared with unwavering resolve.

Spotting a mark on Freen's cheek, she declared, "Oh, baby, you've got a dirt on your face," making it obvious as she wiped away the kiss mark left by Nita and emphasizing it as a dirt.

Continuing, Becky turned her attention to Nita with a warm smile. "So, although your presence is unexpected, we appreciate the birthday wishes, and you're welcome to join the party."

"Right, baby?" She sweetly tapped Freen's nose, seeking affirmation.

"Y-yes, my love," Freen responded nervously.

Nita, seemingly unruffled, took a step back, acknowledging the united front presented by the couple with a raised eyebrow.

"Alright, for you... Sam," she said, placing a finger on Freen's shoulder. "I'll play nice," Nita added, her tone carrying a hint of mischief. With that, she gracefully drifted into the exit, leaving an air of uncertainty in her wake.

Freen, sensing the tension, took a deep breath and turned to Becky with sincerity in her eyes. "Babe, I'm really sorry. It wasn't my intention, and I didn't anticipate—"

Becky interrupted, placing a gentle hand on Freen's arm. "It's okay, my love. We'll talk about it later. Let's not let anything spoil our celebration tonight."

Freen nodded, relieved by Becky's understanding. She then kissed her wife in the temple, "Okay, baby. I love you" she whispered

Becky's countenance softened in response to Freen's apology, and she reciprocated with a tender kiss on her lips. "I love you too, Freen. Let's savor the remainder of the evening, and afterward, we'll head to the resort," she expressed, her voice imbued with reassurance and affection.

Leaning in towards Freen's ear, she added with a playful yet sensual undertone, "You'll unwrap your present and face your punishment." The promise lingered in the air, creating an alluring anticipation that added an extra layer of excitement to the celebratory atmosphere.
