The Straw Hat crew had two new crewmates Usopp and Vex had agreed to join them as Usopp was excited to have a real adventure he could tell to Kaya when they met again one day. Taking a seat on the kitchen counter as he ate some popcorn.
Nami relaxed as she found a room she liked before settling down. Unpacking her stuff into the drawers the room had. Feeling a bit good about having her own space for once.
Venus followed Zoro as he found them a room they could share during the journey. Getting comfortable in their space as he set his swords close to the hammock.
Vex had found an empty room as he settled his stuff down. Not having much to unpack. Laying down on the bed at the moment.
Luffy stayed on the sheep figurehead as he held his hands out in the air and screamed with joy. His first ship in just a few days. He was happy to have made it so far. It made closer to accomplishing his dreams. Climbing down after a while as he headed back inside with the others.
Nami was now sitting with Venus and Zoro after they unpacked their things as they noticed Luffy walked inside.
"Well, how does it feel Captain?" Venus asked.
"It feels great. I don't ever want to wake up." Luffy grinned. "How's the wound?"
"Stings like a bitch up it's manageable." Venus huffed as she smiled.
"Well, you'll have enough time to recover on this ship. We have a long way to go." Luffy grinned.
"Guys!" Usopp spoke up as he barged into the room. "I just made us a new Jolly Roger for the ship." Excitedly showing it to them. "Ta-da!"
Luffy held the flag up at the moment before taking a glance at it.
Vex walking in as he noticed all of them already there. Walking over to see what Luffy was holding up. "Usopp.."
"I know, I know. My flair for design often leaves people speechless." Usopp replied.
"I don't think that's what's going on here." Venus spoke.
Luffy nodded in agreement as he rolled up the flag and handed it back to him. "I've already drawn our flag."
"Yeah but this one is better."
"Neither of those flags are gonna scare anyone away." Zoro spoke up.
"Okay, but the Jolly Roger is suppose to reflect the captain." Usopp replied.
"I am the captain." Luffy spoke up as he placed his hand on the small table infront of him. "We are the Straw Hat crew."
"Well people call me Captain Usopp."
The two speaking over one another about who the real captain was. Acting like two little kids. Nami was the first to laugh. Her laugh filling the room as they stopped and glanced her way.
Venus found her laugh to be contagious as she began to laugh as well. Glancing away from Nami to the two of them. The atmosphere being better than when they all first met.
Luffy grinned. "You see? This is what it's all about." He spoke as he knew it was bound to happen sooner or later. Where they all would get to feel like a real pirate crew. "From now on, it's all gonna be smooth sailing."
Venus smiled as she paid attention to the small group they had formed. Calming herself down as an explosion happened out of nowhere.
Zoro sat up as he pulled Venus to him. Keeping her head covered a bit just in case they were hit again. Nami grabbing her hand as she became alert.
Vex immediately moved closer to the couch group on instinct. "Who could that be?"
"Marines, most likely." Zoro huffed.
Luffy and Usopp holding one another after the explosion hit them. Having one another to hold.
"What was that?" Usopp asked at the moment as he was shocked.
"Great." Nami spoke. "You just had to open your mouth about it being a smooth trip." She huffed before getting up as she rushed out the door after letting go of Venus' hand.
Zoro glanced down, holding Venus' chin lightly. "Stay here. You're hurt."
"I fought Kuro with this wound. This is nothing." Venus spoke as she glanced at him.
"Fine, but don't force yourself." Zoro spoke. Letting her go as he got up. Holding her hand before pulling her up gently.
Venus gave him a small grin before following after the others. Keeping her hand in his as they walked out of the room.
Nami had been the first one to arrive to the docks as she sighed. "Marines!" She spoke up to warn the others. "We're under attack!"
Venus watched as the Marines ship was right behind them. "They're fast, I'll give them that." She spoke as she watched them fire and miss the ship.
Luffy stood in front of them as he took out a spyglass. Glancing through it before moving away from it in shock at who he saw. "Grandpa?" He asked confused.
"Grandpa?" Zoro, Venus, Vex, Nami, and Usopp asked in unison.
"Did you just call that guy grandpa?" Zoro asked him directly.
Luffy ignored him question. Being good at dodging it. He had to deal with his grandpa before anything else. Glancing through the spyglass once more.
Lowering it when he confirmed that it was indeed his grandfather. Remembering how he had alway been forced to learn to be a marine. Something he never wanted to be.
"Hit the deck!" Usopp yelled once he noticed that they had fired again and it looked like it would hit the ship. Ducking as he didn't want to be hit.
Nami ducked as well as she knew they were in a tough situation and knew they had to leave.
Luffy ducking with Zoro and Venus as they were sent back from the impact the canon had on the ship as it went right through the railing.
Vex hid as he peaked his head out when the attack was over. Glancing back out at the Marine ship.
Zoro had covered Venus lightly before glancing over at the hole it had made. A close call indeed. Helping her up as Venus dusted herself a bit.
"Everyone alright?" Luffy asked.
"For now, if we don't lose them then we'll have more than just a minor broken Ship." Venus spoke as she over at the marines.
"No! Not okay! Not even close!" Usopp yelled back.
Luffy didn't pay too much attention as he thought about his next move. "Usopp! Fire back at them!" He spoke up.
"Or.. how about we sail away from them as fast as we can?" Usopp asked. Not really wanting to fire at a full ship of Marines that would indeed shoot back at them.
Venus listened to them speak as she quietly thought of something to do.
"Run from the Marines?" Luffy asked shocked before shaking his head. "No! Never!" He turned to Nami as Usopp joined him. "Nami, you trim the.. the sail thing. We're going to sink their ship."
"We don't have time for that. They're stealing our air." Nami huffed. "If they manage to pull up alongside us then we are finished."
"You're our navigator. Do something." Luffy spoke.
Nami sighed before turning to Zoro. "Zoro, sheet in and hard to port." She ordered.
Usopp grabbed one of the cannons at the moment.
"You know how to load a cannon?" Luffy asked.
"Yeah, of course. I've loaded dozens of them." Usopp lied. "Uh.. this one must be a different model than the ones I'm used to."
"Which way is port?" Zoro asked Nami.
"The left!" Nami answered. Glancing back down to Luffy, Venus, Vex, and Usopp. "Usopp load the cannon in the barrel, light the fuse, and get the hell out of the way."
Usopp listened as he was about to do so. Walking forward to try and do as told.
Venus watched him drop the cannonballs before stopping three with her foot. Glancing at them before glancing up. "I'd take a step back if I were you." Venus warned him and Vex. Picking one of them up and holding it up. Closing one eye as she did her own thing.
"What are you doing?" Vex asked as he moved out of the way.
"Oh, just a little time saving for us." Venus replied as she kept her focus.
