"I can't believe we did all of that for a couple;e of coats," I groaned, holding my knees to my chest, feeling satisfied with the warmth of the coat. A large explosion went off in the distance, but I couldn't tell how big it was because we were off the ground.
"It can't be helped. We needed to get there, somehow." Robin smiled at me, and my eyes widened.
"I guess so, but I still feel a little bad," I said, looking to the Boss, and Robin pat my back.
Luffy had convinced- more like threatened- this "Boss" guy to give us a ride to the base of operation. The Boss was an Alligator Centaur, so he had lots of room on his back, considering he was just barely smaller than a giant.
"That noise sure was loud, huh?" Luffy asked, "I bet it was Sanji." Luffy had grabbed the man he said he would, with a red and white striped jacket going past his knees, all the way to his ankles. It's more appropriate to call them parkas.
We were sitting in a circle on the man's back. I was sitting with Robin to my left, and Zoro to my right, with my back facing the side. Robin had Brook on her left, and Zoro had Usopp on his right.
Speaking of which, Zoro and Robin got the coats they pointed out as well. Robin had a long pink and purple spotted parka on, and Zoro had a fuzzy light brown one. Brook grabbed a green and lime green striped one, which I don't see the point of since he's a skeleton, and Usopp had a navy blue one, similar to mine, with lighter blue stripes down each side.
I had a navy blue one, since there were only two girls in that group, and the two people Robin trapped were the girls. It had a navy blue cover, but the inside was fluffy and a light gray, making it incredibly warm. It went down all the way to my ankles. I'm assuming these were made bigger for the centaur people, to cover their bodies which aren't covered with fur, which made them extra long for us.
"Hey, Crocotaur. You still don't wanna tell me where the rest of my crew is at?" Luffy asked, sitting on the man's shoulders.
"Keep dreaming," The Centaur said, panting, "But you're not gonna get a word out of me, alright?"
"Fine then! But can't you run faster at least? My friends could be in real trouble right now. We gotta get to that big building before someone gets hurt!"
"Like me? Or my crew you robbed?" The man panted, "You're nothing but a bunch of thugs. And now you gotta humiliate me like this?"
"You're just crying 'cause you got your ass beat," Zoro said, and I turned my head to him, " Don't pin this on us. You're the one who attacked! Man up, Man-o-dile. Croco-man. Whatever..."
"Brook, you don't even have skin. You're sitting there shivering, but you can't be cold, right?" Usopp asked, as he was sitting next to Brook, "Did you just steal that coat because you wanted to fit in?"
"...What if I did?" Brook asked, sounding guilty. He threw his arms in the air, "Is it so wrong to want to share in the suffering of my friends? "Cold" is a state of mind, after all. You don't need real skin for that!"
"We've been able to keep ourselves warm, but I fear the others might not be so fortunate. If they get frostbite, they could lose any number of limbs," Robin spoke up.
"That's enough! Just spare us of your gruesome concerns, alright?" Usopp asked.
"Hopefully, they are temporarily warm inside whatever facility Brook saw," I said, holding my knees closer.
"Don't stop now, Crocotaur! We're almost there!" Luffy called, and I looked over the side to see the corner of a metal-looking building.
"What is that?" Robin pointed out the pieces of a Warship lying everywhere. A marine Warship, to be precise.
"Yep, sure looks like a warship," Usopp said, joining Luffy on the Centaur's shoulders.
"So, the navy's on the island?" Luffy asked.
"What? Are you sure?" Brook asked, planning to go with the other two on the man's shoulders.
"Hey, look! We've got company!" Usopp pointed out that someone was walking across our path, and my smile grew.
"Wait... I know him!" Luffy said, "Hey! Hello!" Luffy called out, making the cloaked man stop, but not turn towards us.
"Whatcha doin' here?" Luffy smiled as well, "You remember me, don't you? You helped me out that one time!"
I leaned over the side and waved.
Law turned his head, saw Luffy, and his eyes widened, then went to an almost annoyed expression, "Straw Hat."
"He's here?" Zoro asked, "That's the guy we met at the Human Shoppe in Sabaody."
"Trafalgar law. But why's he here?" Robin asked, and it all clicked for me.
'Of course, the cutting and reattaching of the body parts! I saw him do that to a ton of Marines on Sabaody! Creepy!'
"Right! Traffy!" Luffy giggled, falling off of the shoulders and standing where we were sitting, "He helped (Y/N) and I out, you guys know. Back in the battle of Marineford. He got us off the field and treated my wounds."
"He did?" Robin asked, giving me a glance.
"Yeah. He saved our lives, just like Jimbei!" Luffy said, then pulled me by the wrist to stand, "Okay, let's go talk to him, right now!" he said, and before I could let him run us towards him, I slipped my hand from his grip and told him I'll talk to him later.
Remembering my last encounter with Law, I don't wanna face him until I have to.
Luffy stopped in front of him, and Law kept a stern gaze on him, "I didn't expect to run into you. Small world, huh? You saved us. I owe ya one. Really, thanks!" Luffy looked around, "Hey, where's your buddies?"
Law glanced quickly at me, who was still waving, then back to Luffy, "Looks like you pulled through, Straw Hat," he turned slightly, "Well, glad my treatment took, but you don't have to thank me for it. I did it on a whim, that's all. We're not, buddies," he turned away from Luffy, looking at the ground, "Don't forget, we're both pirates."
Luffy laughed, "I know. Opponents, rivals, enemies, but enemy or not, you still helped me. So thanks!"
Luffy put his arms in a cheering motion, "This is cool! First Jimbei, ad now you! I'm getting a lot of "thank you"s checked off my list!"
"Hey, over there!" I heard Usopp say from the Centaur's shoulders, and looked around, "On the ground. A Marine!"
I looked over and sure enough, a Marine. But not just any marine.
'S-Smoker!'
"Can I get a little help here, Trafalgar?" Brownbeard yelled, "Hey!"
"Wait! Please!" A voice I have heard before called out.
I peek over to see a Female Marine with glasses running towards Smoker, "Smoker!"
"Smokey!" I heard a ton of marines yell, following behind her.
Luffy gasped, "Marines!"
"Wait, we've met her... She was in Alabasta!" I remembered. She is like Smoker's right-hand man!
"Uh, Luffy, we've got marines headed our way!" Usopp called.
"Yep!" Luffy confirmed.
The lady I recognized, as the marines called her Captain Tashigi, dropped to her knees trying to lift Smoker's body, "Please, wake up!"
"That's what I thought! Smokey and his crew!" Luffy responded, then reached his arm into the air, "Long time no see!"
I yelled at Luffy, "Would you stop it?!"
Tashigi inspected something on Smoker's chest as all of us watched closely. Close enough to see she was crying. I glanced at Law and saw him watching her with no emotion. The closer I looked, it looked like something was on Smoker's chest. A wound?
Tashigi stood up, tears flowing as she put a hand on her sword, "Damn you! Damn you! Damn you!" She called toward Law.
Law just glanced at her, uninterested.
She ran towards him, and he scoffed, "Come on. Really? I hate this kinda thing. Too much drama." he stuck his hand forward, "Room," and the air around us got almost murky.
He unsheathed his sword and made two stab motions, and Tashigi gasped, stopping dead. Law said 'Shambles', and Tashigi fell to the ground, sending shivers down my spine.
The murky air disappeared, and everyone was extremely still...
"Once wasn't enough?" Law asked, sheathing his sword and leaning it on his shoulder, "Please. I win again, Captain."
The marines went forward towards Tashigi and Smoker, and I heard Usopp call for Luffy, "Luffy! That's our cue to get out of here!"
Luffy nodded but before he went back, he turned, "Hold on. Hey, you! Traffy! Got a question for ya."
Law raised his hand and pointed toward the building, "Head over to the Lab around the back. When you get there, you'll find what you're looking for. We'll meet again soon."
He turned and walked back towards the big doors, leading inside the building, "We both have things we mean to get back." Luffy let out a small chuckle, and turned on his heels, running towards us.
I glanced back at the Marines as Brownbeard started running. Law finished her so quickly, and without a fight, I kinda feel bad. I watched as the Marines all surrounded the two we had met in Alabasta, calling their names.
Luffy made it to Brownbeard's side, and stretched his arm, grabbing Usopp, Zoro's, and Brook's hands, running all of them onto their backs.
"Think Smokey's gonna be okay? That was rough." Luffy asked me when he landed, as he got off of our crushed crewmates...
"I can't say for sure," I said, and we both looked back to the Marines, with Law being nowhere in sight.
Before anyone could respond, we heard gunshots our way. We evaded them, and we headed for the back of the Laboratory.

We rode for a while, and Luffy called out a group of people. Familiar people.
Brook Luffy and Usopp were leaning on Brownbeard's head, as Robin, Zoro, and I all sat on his back.
"Hey! Hey!" Luffy called, trying to get their attention, even though I'm pretty sure they already see us. Although, what I was confused about, is that it looked like everyone is in some form of uniform. With our crewmembers wearing black coats, and tons of people, small and large, wearing green and blue coats.
"Who are all those people?" I asked Zoro and Robin, who just noticed them as well.
"No clue," Zoro grumbles, clearly suspicious.
"I'm sure they're allies since no one is fighting." Robin smiled.
"True."
"Hey, it's Luffy! (Y/N) and Usopp, too! Zoro, Robin, Brook! I'm so happy to see you!" Sanji yelled, doing a dance similar to Choppers.
"Wait... what?" I asked.
"What the–? Why's the jackass cook prancing around like that? Cold does strange things to people." Zoro snarled.
The closer we got, the easier I saw the people behind our crew members. They were giant... children, if my eyes didn't deceive me.
I also watched Nami... WHAT?!
'W-Why is she gawking at her own chest?!'
I was going to yell something, but watched in shock as Franky- FRANKY JUST PUNCHED NAMI?!
Everyone was stunned.
They were standing near a cave, and we all collected inside, to get away from the piercing wind, and hopefully, to get some damn answers.
"Out of the cold! Finally!" Usopp sighed as we walked in, him on my right.
"This building reminds me a lot of the other one," Chopper said, his voice sounding grave. Must be the cold.
"But this one is badly damaged," Robin said, and I looked around. It looks like this used to be an entrance to a facility, but it was covered in ice and blocked off from the main building. All of the equipment was either shattered, frozen in ice, or just simply unusable," as if there was some sort of explosion."
"As long as it gets us out of that Blizzard, it's fine by me," Chopper said, with a little swing in his voice, sounding unnatural, "Now, let's talk. Who's up first?"
Franky... was crying over Nami's unconscious body sobbing, "Wah! I can't believe I did that to my own body!"
Sanji was leaning over Nami's unconscious body, "Here, let me see if I can help."
Sanji reached for her jacket, to pull it open, and Franky yelled, "What are you doing Sanji?! Get your hands off me!"
"But, it's me, Chopper!" Sanji said.
Also, the pair of Legs Luffy had 'reunited' with a severed head that the other group found, the head of a samurai. Apparently, he was cut up, now I assume by Law.
Luffy was moping about his legs being gone, The kids were gawking at Brook, and everyone in our group was confused.
Nami weakly opened her eyes, and Chopper leaned over her, "Nami-Sanji, are you okay?"
She sat up, "I think so? But- I was just having the strangest dream. I was floating down a river that flowed between giant boobs."
"Really?! That's what you were dreaming about?!" Sanji yelled at her, which was- almost unsettling to see. Franky moped away, crying. A few kids climbed on him and told him to do a trick, but he just sobbed, "Not Now!"
We managed to calm everyone down, and... Franky offered Nami a cigarette?
"I... I just... this is too much..." I rubbed my hands over my face, covering it completely, as Usopp pat me on the back.

"Right. First up, we're gonna need to know who's who here." Luffy said what we were all thinking.
Chopper spoke, "Franky. Got that? Not Chopper. You get hurt, I'm useless. Remember that."
'That's why his voice was traveler...'
Sanji spoke, "Hey guys. Chopper speaking. If you have any injuries, come to me."
'So that's why he was with Nami...'

Franky pointed to his face, "I'm Nami. 'Kay? No laser beams. No Tanks. Don't ask."
'That's why he seemed sassier...'
Nami smirked and pulled a cigarette from her lips, "And now, I present to you... Nami! Yeah!" She yelled, taking her coat off of her arms and moving her boobs around.
'No wonder Sanji had that dream...'
As Usopp and Brook gawked. I wanted to hit Sanji for that- but... would I be hitting Nami? Would she charge me?!
"Defile my body again. I dare you," Nami[Franky] Tested him.
Sanji[Nami] gasped, "I-I'll stop, I promise! Please don't hurt nami again, she's too pretty!"
Chopper [Sanji] joined in defending Sanji [Nami], "No! Don't do it! That would be suicide!"
"Touch me, and you get a fine. One hundred thousand berries. No, make it two." [Nami [Franky]]
"But my dream..." [Sanji [Nami]]
Luffy and Usopp found the situation hilarious, so much to the point that they were on the floor laughing.

"Let's start from the top, and make sure we have it straight." [usopp]
"This head and legs belong to a Wano samurai. The distress signal we intercepted before coming to the island was actually meant for the Big Boss Crocotaur and was sent by one of his men. Seems our sliced-up samurai pal did some slicing of his own, with the centaurs on the receiving end." [Usopp]
"Yes, I fought them. But only to rescue my son. His name is Momonoskue. He's missing, and those men were in my way. Just look. You can see with your own eyes how many children were prisoners in that facility. I have no doubt my son is one of them." [Samurai]
"Yeah. There were more children like us. I guess your son could be one of them, but I don't know." [Kid]
"Right, but what happened after that distress signal? Who the heck sliced you?" [Zoro]
The man we encountered. Him. The one with the cold eyes and the Silly cap who bears the title Warlord now." [Samurai]
'So he's a warlord now? I wonder how he managed that?'
"Say what?!" Luffy gasped, his lower half stuck in a snowball the children made, "Wait. Traffy? He's a warlord now, really?"
"Yes. A lot can change in two years." [Robin]
"Bastard. He took his blade and carved me up. My head was kept in the facility. My torso remained where it fell. And my legs were chased away by a vile beast. They were making a valiant effort to escape when they became stuck on something." [Samurai]
"Which was the dragon? That explains it." [(Y/N)]
Luffy jumped down, "Oh right, a warlord. You were mad at one."
"Wait, but it was just legs? So how did he talk?" [Nami [Franky]]
"That's... a really good question." [Zoro]
"It's simple. By farting." [Samurai]
'I-is that why he was saying poot?!'
"It's a talent of mine. Here, I'll show you." [Samurai]
"Fart-talking? Okay, gross!" [Usopp]
"But useful." [Samurai]
"Yohoho! Would you believe I met another partial person recently? You have a head and legs. He just had a torso. Ha! That's funny." [Brook]
"That was probably his torso..." [(Y/N)]
"Dumbass." [Zoro]
"Oh, dear!" [Brook]
"You saw it, skeleton? Truly? Where is my torso? We must go there at once!" [Samurai]
There was a lot of arguing, but Usopp quelled it, getting confused by the faces, "Alright, Alright! You know what? Here," He frustratingly said and plopped down roughly next to me and started writing and... coloring?
After a few minutes, he went to everyone who had been swapped and put a headband on their head, with a general picture of their true selves.
"Are you kidding? What the hell is this Usopp?" Sanji [Nami] barked, not liking that his little picture had heart-shaped eyes.
"I think they're totally super, bro!" Franky [Chopper] complimented his picture. He probably only liked it because it had cool sunglasses.
Nami [Franky] sighed, "I don't care anymore."
"Thanks, Usopp! Great idea!" Chopper [Sanji] cheered. I'll admit, it was a smart idea, but I couldn't label it great.
"This thing detracts from Nami's beauty!" Sanji [Nami] whined.
"Oh, stop whining," Usopp groaned, "Without some sort of system like this, we're never gonna remember who's who!" He explained.
"So Brownbeard, huh?" Luffy said, standing directly in front of the chained Brownbeard. He was sitting on a pipe, Zoro sitting with him. Some kids were messing with Brownbeard's tail as well.
"That's right. I'm sure you've heard that name. It's what I used to go by," Brownbeard explained.
'Now he's talking?'
"Nope, sorry." [Luffy]
"Are you kidding, you fool? Hey, get off of me before I bite you!" he turned to the kids for the last part.
"Something's up," Zoro glared at the former pirate, "You wouldn't say a word before, and now you won't stop yapping. Why are you so eager to run your mouth now?"
"Oh ho," Brownbeard smirked, "I'm in a good mood because you guys are in for it. Law knows that I'm with you now, and he's gonna come for me."
'Hmm... I wonder if he will. He didn't seem very worried, or try to stop us, and we don't know how dedicated he is to this operation, or if he has a part at all, but then again, you can never trust pirates.'
I frowned, crossing my arms.
'Although I don't want to admit it, he's strong. It'd be a pain to fight him, and part of me doesn't want to. Part of me wants to punch him in that stupid face of his.'
"I despise all the worthless pirates of your damn generation. Law's the exception." [Brownbeard]
I wandered over, thinking the same question Luffy was asking, "Hold on. What do you mean "our generation"?" he asked as I stood behind them, my arms now only crossed from the cold.
"Don't you know anything? Little fool" [Brownbeard]
"I mean the 12 rookies with bounties over 100 million who arrived at Sabaody two years ago. You lot, and Blackbeard. People call you punks "the worst generation". Trouble makers who were born near the change of the era. Reckless fools whose actions will determine the future of this world. After Whitebeard died, you all came to the new world and began raising hell." [Brownbeard]
Now, everyone in the crew, and the samurai, were behind the pillar Luffy and Zoro were sitting on, listening in.
"Anytime something big happened, a member of your generation was usually right in the thick of things. Blackbeard, Kid, Law, Drake, and Hawkins. Basil Hawkins was the one who shattered my crew, leaving us defeated and broken. It's because of him that my pirate career ended. The coward took my legs from me. My crew was annihilated."
"I was fleeing for my life when at last, I arrived here, on the island known as Punk Hazard. Do you fools even know what this place is?"
Franky[Chopper] on my right, gave me a curious look, and I shrugged my shoulders slightly. Although I know a little bit, and I mean very little, I wanna see if I'm right.
Brownbeard sighed, seeing everyone's confusion, "This island is not what it was. It used to be a paradise, teeming with life. Home to creatures of all shapes and colors."
"Wow, for real?" Luffy asked.
"It's nothing like that anymore," Zoro points out the obvious.
"This island housed the laboratory of a Government Scientist known as Dr. Vegapunk." [Brownbeard]
'I've heard that name somewhere... Yes, Koby mentioned it on Water Seven.'
"He and his team were stationed here with the task of developing new chemicals and weapons. Vegapunk needed subjects on which to test his inventions. So instead of going to prison, criminals were sent here, where they were experimented on." [Brownbeard]
'Well that's cruel...'
"Four years ago, Vegapunk tested one of his chemical weapons and it went very, very wrong. Two of the three labs exploded, destroyed almost entirely. We are standing in the remains of one now." [Brownbeard]
'So that explains the frozen and damaged pipes and beams.'
Usopp looked up, him on my left, "That makes sense. A huge explosion would do this kind of damage. So Robin's theory was right after all."
"Intense heat and toxic substances seeped into the air, and none of the plants or animals on the island survived. The government ordered the island evacuated, retrieving their own people but leaving the test subjects behind. Vegapunk's operation was shut down, and his guinea pigs were thrown away like trash. They did what they could to survive, taking shelter in the third laboratory, the only one still intact. There, they were protected from the poison gas that contaminated the entire island." [Brownbeard]
"Those who survived were paralyzed from exposure to the gas, which stole the use of their lower bodies. They lived on, without any real hope for the future. But then, a year later, everything changed. A kind master on the island arrived on the island, restoring the hope that had been lost. With his ability, he purified the island of toxic gas. He also gave the prisoners who couldn't walk the mechanical means to move. More than that, he gave them a purpose by making them his loyal subordinates." [Brownbeard]
Chopper [Sanji], Brook, and Franky [Chopper] had tears in their eyes, whining about how sweet the story was.
"I arrived on the island a year after that, desperate and broken. Two years have passed since my arrival. Some toxic substances remained in the air even then, and breathing it left me feeling nauseous. I began to think I had no more strength to carry on. I had fought to survive, but I was reaching the end." [Brownbeard]
"But then I saw them: the men who had lost the use of their legs just as I had. And with them, the Master. I owe everything to him. His kindness saved my life as it saved others before me. Vegapunk and his experiments stole my comrade's legs, but then the Master arrived and, a kind and generous savior." [Brownbeard]
"And then, a few months ago, fate brought us another surprise. Trafalgar Law. A Warlord arrived on the island and became our second savior. Using his special ability, he gave legs to those of us who couldn't walk without mechanical assistance. They were the legs of living animals! We thought we would never walk again, so we wept when our bodies were restored." [Brownbeard]
"Oh my gosh, that was the most beautiful story ever!" [Chopper[Sanji] and Franky[Chopper]]
"You see? I told you Traffy was a good guy! I'm not the only one whose life he's saved!" Luffy smiled. I put one of my crossed arms to my chin and thought for a second.
'But this doesn't add up. Someone who kidnaps children wouldn't do something this nice without a cost, Law as well. Nami said those kids admitted they were taken, so why would this nice guy take kids? And, why would Law support that?
"We both have things we mean to get back."
'That must be it, law struck some sort of deal.'
"How could Dr. Vegapunk do something so horrible?" Nami[Franky] asked.
"Well, I guess this explains the half-sheep people. The ones back at the laboratory." [Sanji[Nami]]
"Centaurs, too." [Usopp]
"Don't forget the Bird-woman." [(Y/N)]
"It all makes sense now. 'Cept the dragon. What's up with that?" [Usopp]
"Ah, yes. Saw the dragon, did you? That's just an artificial creature Vegapunk made to guard the island against unwanted visitors. It can adapt to any environment imaginable. I heard one of the World's Nobles liked it and gave it a name. I forgot what it was, but run if you see it. It's very aggressive." [Brownbeard]
"I'm not worried." [Zoro]
'Well duh, we already ate it...'
"Now you know who's in charge on this island and why we're here. Nobody else dares to come near it now. It belongs to the Master. Punk Hazard is the Domain of our savior." Brownbeard chuckled when he saw Chopper[Sanji] and Franky[Chopper] crying, "No, don't cry. The master continues his research for the betterment of mankind. To do so, he needs test subjects, and each of you will have the honor of becoming one."
'There was a good reason for the island to be closed off. If the 'savior' keeps experimenting on Humans, then history could repeat itself, and something could go wrong again.'
"Like it or not, you're his!" [Brownbeard]
