Chapter One-Hundred-Two
🏹 Reunions 🏹
Scott pulled up to the ruins of Oak Creek with Azalea in the passenger seat. The place that once had haunting tunnels, now was just a fallen, grassy plot. The two glanced at each other before getting out of the car. Scott glanced down at part of the broken, rusty gate until Azalea grabbed his hand, making him look at her with a small smile.
Azalea glanced around trying to keep her memories at bay before walking forward, pulling Scott along with her. Lydia pulled up and got out of her car and hesitated for a moment before walking over to Scott and Azalea, making them look back and smile.
After a second, Lydia quickly ran over, pulling Azalea into a tight hug, making Azalea laugh softly. "I missed you." Lydia said, and Azalea smiled, "I missed you too." She said before they pulled away and Scott stepped forward. "Hey, thanks for coming so fast." He said and Lydia smiled at him before quickly pulling him into a hug.
Azalea took a small deep breath as the three of them glanced down at the ground for a moment. "Do you really think all this is true?" Lydia asked, making them look at her, "Allison being stuck, unable to cross over?" She asked and Scott shook his head. "I don't know. But if being here and doing this thing actually helps her, and no one else gets hurt, I'm up for trying." Scott said and Lydia nodded slightly before looking over at Azalea.
"I don't know why she would get stuck but I can't imagine being stuck between life and death is very fun so I would like to try to help her, even if it turns out to not be true." Azalea said and Lydia nodded, "Okay, then let's try." She said before holding up a folder she had, pulling out of premonition papers she did.
"We need a handful of earth from the ground where Allison died." Lydia said and Scott nodded, "Okay." He said. Scott stepped up to the patch of ground where Allison died and crouched down. He slightly ran his hand across the ground before Azalea crouched down, gently grabbing his hand.
Scott looked at her and she smiled softly and gave him a small nod. He smiled back at her and nodded slightly before she kissed the side of his head and stood up. Scott took a deep breath before punching the ground a few times until he was able to grab a handful of dirt. Azalea handed him a cloth, helping him wrap the dirt into it before he looked at her and Lydia
"What's next?" He asked, making them look at him before walking over to the cars.
🏹
Azalea, Scott and Lydia stood around the McCall household, waiting for Argent when they heard the front door open. "Anyone home?" Someone called out and Azalea looked at Scott with an excited smile when she heard her brother's voice. Her smile only grew when she heard the sound of small feet running across the floor, making her quickly move towards the living room.
"Aunty Azzi!" Grace, Azalea's five year old niece yelled as she ran over to her aunt. "Gracie! Oh, look at you!" Azalea said as she picked Grace up, who immediately wrapped her arms around Azalea's shoulders. "Why is it that the moment you stopped having the Novac last name, you stopped caring about your brother?" Stefan asked, making Azalea look over to see him and Anya walking over. The two Novac siblings still have a Romanian accent in their voice.
"I stopped caring about my brother the moment he gave me a new favorite Novac." Azalea said, raising her eyebrows at her brother, "I hope you realize you are my third favorite Novac now, Anya and Grace are ahead of you." Azalea said, making Anya chuckle while Stefan rolled his eyes. Azalea set Grace down before tightly hugging her brother.
"Missed you though." Azalea said and Stefan chuckled, "We saw each other last month." He said. "Yes, we went from seeing each other daily for over a hundred years to seeing each other twice a month. It's still not something I'm used to." Azalea said and Stefan chuckled and kissed the top of his sister's head. "Missed you too." He said as they pulled away before Azalea hugged Anya.
"Have you heard anything from the agency yet?" Anya asked and Azalea sighed, "Not yet, but hopefully soon." She said and Anya gave her a small smile as they pulled away. "Uncle Scott!" Grace yelled, making them look over to see Grave running over to Scott as he walked into the living room. "Hey, Gracie." Scott said as he picked her up, making Azalea smile softly.
"Hey, guys." Scott said, hugging Stefan and Anya after setting down Grace. "Hey. Do you guys actually think this is gonna work?" Stefan asked and Azalea shrugged slightly, "I mean- I'm here after dying. Whose to say Allison can't be as well." Azalea said and her brother raised his eyebrows. "Except Allison died completely human, unlike you, and it's highly unlikely that she's going to become a Strigoi." Stefan said.
"I guess we'll find out." Azalea said as she looked at Scott, who nodded.
A little while later, they all stood around the island table with Argent. On the table sat the sword that killed Allison in a black case. "Anybody mind if we close this thing?" Lydia asked and Argent nodded, "Yeah." He said, closing and locking the case before setting down on the ground.
"Does your, uh, mom know that you're here?" Argent asked, looking at Scott, making Scott look at him, "Does she know that you're here?" He asked. "No. And I kind of want to keep it that way." Argent said and Scott nodded, "Yeah, me too." He said while Azalea gave Argent an amused look.
"All right. Lydia, we've got the earth where she died, the weapon that took her life. According to you, that's steps one and two. What is next?" Argent asked and Lydia pulled out papers from her folder. "There's a spell that Azalea can do." Lydia said, making Azalea raise her eyebrows, "Resurrection spells have prices. Like taking my magic away." Azalea said, glancing over at her brother before shrugging slightly.
"I'll take the risk. Hopefully this time the price won't be taking my magic and slowly killing me. What else?" She asked and Lydia sighed, "I was, uh, hoping you could help me figure that out. I mean, to be honest, I'm a little out of practice with all of this." She said and Anya tilted his head slightly as she looked at the papers.
"I think this is a puzzle." She said and Scott looked at Lydia with raised eyebrows. "You still scream like a Banshee, right?" He asked and Lydia hummed, "Not quite like I used to. It's just like a muscle. You stop using it, and it atrophies." She said. "Why did you stop using your power?" Stefan asked and Lydia was about to answer but someone else did. "Stiles. Obviously, it has something to do with Stiles." Jackson said as he walked into the kitchen, opening the fridge as Azalea looked at him confused.
"Why the hell is Jackson here?" She asked, looking at Lydia while Scott looked at Jackson, "What are you doing?" He asked as Jackson pulled out a slice of pizza. "Well, firstly, Jackson prefers not to be talked about like he's not in the room. Second, well, Lydia called begging me to help, as usual. And I said, okay, so long as she promised never to tell Ethan, because I promised Ethan that I would never come back to this nightmare hellscape of a town." Jackson said.
"Thank you." Lydia whispered sarcastically before Jackson looked at the papers, "Oh, I love these games." He said, going to grab one of the pages before Argent grabbed his arm. "This isn't a game." He said and Jackson cocked an eyebrow, "I have claws that drip paralytic venom, and a tail that'll snap your neck. So take your hand off of me, old man." Jackson said before pulling his hand away.
Azalea and Stefan glanced at each other as Jackson grabbed all the papers and his plate of leftover pizza. He crouched down and started laying out the papers as everyone walked over to see what he was doing. He spent a couple minutes rearranging and laying out all the papers in a way it all connected before standing up.
There, laid out on the was the words "help me" and "bardo" forming the shape of a tree stump with "bardo" written largely in the middle. "It's a tree." Jackson said and Scott shook his head, "It's not just a tree." He said. "It's the Sacred Grove." Lydia said and Azalea took a deep breath, "The ancient Druids call it a Nemeton." She said.
"Well, it looks like a tree." Jackson said, making Azalea roll her eyes, "Yep, he still makes me want to stab him." She said as Jackson took a bite of his pizza.

"What if I don't want to learn?" Eli, Derek's fifteen-year-old son, asked as he and Derek stood in the kitchen of their house, "Well, you're gonna have to learn. It's who you are. You're a Hale." Derek said and Eli shrugged slightly.
"I'll change my name." He said and Derek gave him a look, "That won't change the fact that you're a werewolf." Derek said. "And what if I'm not? Maybe that's why I can't turn into one? You know, what if I'm the first ever Hale not to turn into a werewolf?" Eli asked and Derek sighed softly.
"To be honest, it would probably make life a little easier." Derek said and Eli raised his eyebrows, "Yeah, for me? Or you?" He asked. Eli and Derek just stared at each other for a moment before Eli sighed and grabbed his bag and walked towards his room.
"Definitely me." Derek whispered before someone suddenly opened the front door, making him stand up straighter, ready to defend if needed. "You know-" Azalea started as she leaned against the wall, making Derek sigh softly, "I both see you in him, but at the same time he has a bit of Stiles in him for some reason." Azalea asked, looking over at her best friend.
"So I'm not the only one who noticed." Derek said, walking over to her, making her smile as they pulled each other into a hug. "What are you doing here? You didn't tell me you were coming?" Derek asked and Azalea sighed, "It was a very last minute thing. There's some unfinished business here that I'll tell you about later. I have to meet back up Scott and Lydia then meet up with Malia but I wanted to see you and my god son." Azalea said as they pulled away.
"Well your god son is still having some... issues. Still." He said and Azalea raised her eyebrows, "He still hasn't shifted has he?" She asked and Derek shook his head. "And he's still taking the jeep." He said and Azalea chuckled, "Oh yeah, he definitely had some Stiles in him." She said and Derek gave her a look.
"You think?" He asked and Azalea chuckled, patting his shoulder before walking over to Eli's room, lightly knocking on the door. "I'm not talking about this anymore, dad." Eli said and Azalea scoffed lightly as she opened the door, "Never thought I would ever be mistaken for Derek Hale of all people." Azalea said, making Eli's eyes widen.
"Azalea." He said, quickly walking over to hug her, making her smile as she tightly hugged him back. "I'm proud of you." Azalea said as they pulled away and she messed up his hair, "You kept your promise of giving your dad a hard time for me." She said, making him chuckle.
🏹
Scott pulled up to the woods where Malia stood with Lydia and Azalea in the car before the three of them got out. Lydia quickly ran over to Malia, throwing her arms around her. "Oh! I missed you." Lydia said as Malia awkwardly hugged her back, "I missed you too." Malia said. "No, you didn't." Lydia said, "Okay, I wanted to." Malia said as they pulled apart. "Well, that I can believe." Lydia said as Azalea walked up to her.
"You, I kinda missed." Malia said, making Azalea smile before pulling her into a hug, "I missed you too." She said. "Didn't really miss you." Malia said, making Scott chuckle, "It's good to see you." Scott said as they hugged before Malia nodded.
"Okay. Let's go find a tree in the woods." Malia said, walking away, making Azalea, Lydia and Scott follow her. "Come on. You said we need to find this thing by nightfall." Malia said as they walked through the woods.
