Sophie woke up in the healing center. How did she get there? What even happened? Then it all came flooding back to her. "ELWINNNNNNNNNNN!!!" She was so mad she had to stop herself form inflicting. " Elwin sprinted out of his office. Sophie punched him square in the jaw, "That's for sedating me." She declared.
"I suppose I deserve that." He said rubbing his chin.
"You 'Suppose'! I didn't even get any questions answers before you knocked me out again! I am absolutely TERRIFIED and nobody bothered to answer my questions!"
"Sophie its ok your safe, you don't have to be scared. As for the questions thing... I had to put you back asleep for us to make any progress in healing you."
"I DON'T CARE! YOU. DO. NOT. GET. TO. LEAVE. ME. IN. THE. DARK. LIKE. THAT!!"
"Look I know your mad but it was necessary. will you pleas let me give you a check up and then you can get as many visitors as you want?" He gave her a pouty face she couldn't help but give in to. "Fine. But I'm still mad at you!"
"I know. Hate me if you want but your health comes before everything to me."
"Why?" His expression softened and he left without saying another word. Was he hiding something from her? He came back with an elixir tray (Like old times) and sat it in front of her. "Drink up!" he said. That was when Sophie saw the tear stains on his face and the dark circles under his eyes. "Are you ok?"
"Oh," he said wiping his cheeks, "Its nothing."
"It looks like something to me."
"Fine, its just... been hard seeing you like that. Lets just say the Neverseen are officially on my hit list."
"That bad huh?"
"You don't want to know. I'm sure you had it worse anyway." Flashbacks clouded her mind filling her with the horrors that were her nightmares. She doubled over with a sudden headache. she relived all her trauma... everything that had happened flashed in front of her, paralyzing her with fear and lingering pain.
"You better cooperate Sophie."
"Whats in that powerful mind of yours?"
"What if I'm not good enough to be the Moonlark?"
"The precious Moonlark has been Caged."
"Alvar survived"
"Choices!"
"Revenge!"
"Little puppet!"
Faces flashed before her. Alvar smirking at her, Gethen viciously grinning, Vespera asking questions, Gisela hurting her friends and family. "Sophie Its ok! Just calm down." A soft Breeze swept through her mind easing her pain and chasing away the flashbacks. She opened her eyes and immediately groaned from the light. She blinked the world back into focus and found Elwin flashing every color of the spectrum around her. Keefe was holding her hand. Alden and Forkle were staring at her with seriously pained expressions on their faces. "What happened?" She asked.
"Oh you know, you passed out after Elwin triggered your flashbacks and called the Lord Of Awesome over along with Alden and Forklenator. Average day in the life of Sophie Foster if you ask me." Keefe answered.
"Oh. Ummmm, So... you saw?" Sophie asked staring back at Forkle and Alden. Alden Punched a wall. "Yes Miss Foster, we saw. Everything." Oh. Well that's not good. Oops. "Sorry." She apologized. "Your kidding right? Foster you WILL NOT apologies for what they did!" Keefe exclaimed.
"Mr. Scencen is correct--"
"Woah! Do not call me Mr. Scencen. Haven't we already gone over that?"
"Nevermind. The point is," Mr. Forkle continued, Wiping away his tears, "Is that your safe now Sophie."
"Yeah I'm safe. But that's enough fuss over me. I'm sure the flashbacks will fade just like my other ones. So! I think its high time I got explanations. About EVERYTHING ok?"
"Only if Elwin gives the all clear--"
"Nope! Elwin and I have an agreement don't we Elwin?"
"I doubt I could have stopped you anyway Sophie but yes shes all ready to go."
"Excellent! Its time we told you everything that happened while you were away."
"Understatement of the century Forkle." And with that they told Sophie everything. They hailed the rest of her friends, her family, and even the council and explained the entire story starting with her going missing. How Keefe came back to find her. There search for her (Which consisted a lot of gnomes and dwarves helping them). When they found her. The battle. Then they told her about what had happened while she was asleep (Both times). They told her that they managed to capture Alvar, Gethen, and Gisela plus everybody else who was in the room when Sophie inflicted. They told her that the Neverseen leaders were currently Imprisoned in an undisclosed location and are awaiting trial. "Wow"
"Yup!" Keefe said.
"Ok but what now? are you going to do memori breaks or something?"
"We want them put on trial and when they are found guilty they will be put in the depths of exile and then yes we will complete memory breaks so we can capture the remaining members and Vespera."Emery said.
"Wait! you dint get Vespera?"
"Were going to get her don't worry." Biana answered. That was when the reunions started. "I'm SOOOOOO SORRY SOPHIE!"
" Why are you sorry Biana? you didn't do anything?"
"I know but--" Her reply was cut of when Dex gave Sophie the biggest hug in her life. "Easy Dex! That area is still tender!" Elwin warned. "Sorry." Dex replied.
"Hey... I'm ok now see. Just like last time." He nodded but didn't seem convinced. "I... well I had a hard time with my flashbacks some days while you were gone..."
"Its ok Dex. I'm Fine now."
"Yeah, Lets keep it that way." He said and got back up.
Fitz stepped over. Uh oh... "Are you ok?" He asked.
"Yeah I'm fine now." Sophie said. He reached for her hand but stopped halfway and gave her arm a gentle squeeze. "Good." He said and steeped away, flashing her his movie worthy smile. Surprisingly her heart didn't flutter like it used to. "Glad your ok Sophie." Tam said from his corner. "Yeah I'm okay, thanks to you." he waved off the complement. "Sophie I'm so glad your alright! I was so worried!" Linh said giving Sophie a big hug. Marella stepped up next, "Hey. Glad your better Foster." she said, "Scare me like that again and it won't just be the Neverseen throwing punches!"
":Or her for that matter." Elwin said still rubbing the spot where Sophie punched him. Then Stina plopped her beanpole body next to Sophie's cot. "I still don't like you, but... I'm glad your back."
"Thanks." Sophie replied with a hint of sarcasm. She looked at Wylie who was standing on her other side. "Thanks for protecting me."
"Its the least I could do after what they did to you..."
"Ok Make way for the Keefe train!" Keefe said with a dramatic whistle But when he leaned down he was everything but happy. In fact he looked about ready to cry. "Hey whats-- " Sophie started to ask but was cut off when he leaned down and kissed her. on the lips. in. front. of. EVERYONE. Ro snickered. Sophie pulled away and looked right into his eyes. "I'm okay." She whispered. He nodded back.
"Ok that enough of that!" Grady said jumping into overprotective dad mode. Edaline had that goofy grin on her.
"You wish Daddyo!" Keefe replied kissing Sophie again.
Grady yanked him off her and Keefe tumbled away laughing so hard he toppled over. Tam and Dex soon were in the same state literally heaving over wheezing! cause that's not embarrassing. Grady stood over her and gave her a big bear hug. Edaline came over crying and joining the hug. when your parents are two Dinosaur resealing care takers you need to learn how to hold your breath for at least 5 minutes. "I love you mom. Love you dad."
"We love you to." They said and gave her a kiss on her cheeks. when they backed up far enough she could see Keefe and the boys again. This time including Fitz who must have joined them on the floor at some point. Then those four did the unthinkable. they got up and in unison Blew her kisses. "Ok, now your dead." Grady said and soon everybody was laughing.
