"I'm already exhausted from a full day of cleanin'. I can't believe we still gotta wash a hundred windows!" Grim complained, sitting down at the cafeteria before turning to the girl
"Why are you so scared anyways?" Grim questioned the girl who clutched her frying pan tightly and jumped every time she heard a noise
"The question should be why Arn't YOU scared? What about the ruffians, thugs, poison ivy, quicksand, cannabals and snakes, the plague!?" She questioned the now disturbed looking cat.
"who told you that!? I think they are just trying to scare you... not everything is trying to kill you, you can just relax" Grim spoke, trying to calm down the paranoid female.
"No... mother knows best...something will go wrong sooner or later" y/n spoke indifferently to the even more disturbed cat.
"...."
A few minutes later, Grim spoke up again.
" Ace ain't even here yet! To make us wait, after what he did... Grrr!"
"I hope he doesn't come... he's like those dangerous guys mother talked about... he attacked you" y/n spoke, slightly scared of the male
The two then waited some more for the said boy.

... "And now he's super late!
I bet he up and bailed on us!" Grim complained angrily
"We should look for him." Y/n spoke reluctantly
"Ain't no way am I doin' his punishment for him!
C'mon, y/n, I don't care if we gotta drag him kickin' and screamin', he's washin' those windows!" Grim yelled, determined
The two then ran down the hallways with grim leading the way, they ran into Ace's classroom, hoping to catch the male before he left.
"Hey! Ace! Get over here! Try to hide from me, will ya!
Huh... Maybe there's really no one here?" Grim spoke, looking around the empty classroom
"Oh, I wouldn't say that, I'm here." A painting on the wall spoke
"Bwaaah! That painting just talked!" Grim yelled, baffled
"Yes, and...? Is a talking painting really such an oddity at this school?
The lady in the portrait on that wall talks too. As does the gentleman in the portrait on this one.
As long as a painting has a mouth, why wouldn't it be able to talk? Is that really so strange?" The painting spoke, offended that they didn't know that paintings could talk
"Wahhhh! So does that mean if I paint a portrait, it will come to life!" Y/n spoke with sparkling eyes, completely forgetting her social awkwardness and talking excitedly.
"Perhaps, I wouldn't know, but maybe if you cast a spell on it, it will come to life?" The painting questioned itself, not knowing the answer.
" Now, you seem to be searching for someone." The painting spoke again
"We're lookin' for this guy called Ace. He's got messy hair and a heart drawn on his face." Grim told the painting
"Ah, I know the one. A new student, I believe? Today was his first day at school. I think he went back to his dorm a while ago." The painting told them
"Myaaah! So it's true! He's tryin' to ditch us! Do you know which way he went?" Grim yelled in anger
"The door to the dorms is in the eastern building." The painting answered
" Let's chase after him, y/n !" Grim yelled, tugging the braid of the said girl.
Y/n nodded absentmindedly, thinking of all the painting space she now had in the ramshackle dorm.
