Y/n's POV
"Logan, get your backpack! We're leaving already!" I yelled at my son, while I was fixing Noah's clothes
"Mommy" I hummed at Noah "Baby Riley will be there?" He asked as poking my cheeks making me smile
"Yes, honey. Your sister will be there" I tickled his tummy provoking him to shout in laughter trying to escape from me, but I hugged him and kissed him several times
I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, Logan was coming wearing the same shirt and pants as his twin. Damn, now I can't tell who's Noah and who's Logan.
I took their hands and guided us out of the house, the rear doors of the car were already open so when we got out, they released my hands and ran until they were inside.
"Didn't you leave anything at home?" I asked shouting as closing the door of the house
"No, mom!" They yelled back from the backseats
As walking towards my car I waved at my neighbours, Mr. and Mrs. Williams, a couple who have been married for forty-six years. I've known them for a long time, you could say since Sadie and I started dating, and I must say that they are the example of a healthy and loving marriage, something that many want, including me.
"Alright, let's go" I started driving taking care that no one was behind me while leaving the parking lot. Once I was already on the road I decided to put some music "What about Harry Styles?"
They nodded effusively at my suggestion. One of the countless things I love about my kids, it's their taste in music, which is actually the same as mine.
The boys were having fun as singing Treat People With Kindness, moving their heads and arms dancing on their seats, their voices mixing with mine filling the car.
"Oh— Logan, did you save your cough syrup? It was on your nightstand" I asked the boy on the right
"Umh, I'm Noah" For a four year old kid, he looked little uncomfortable about me calling him by his brother's name. Although the twins were used to being confused by others, they even found it funny and took advantage of it. But it was stupid of me, how could I do it? How couldn't I tell them apart? I'm their mother!
"I know, I know... I was kidding" I lied nervously
I shouldn't even have asked. Sadie, contrary to me, would have put the syrup in his backpack herself. And not expect him to save it, as I expected him to do it. And of course she wouldn't have changed their names.
"I did it better"
"No, I did it better!"
"No, you suck!"
"Hey! What's going on back there?" I asked when the boys took me out of the trance
"Noah says he sings like Harry"
"Cause I do!"
"But I do better than you!"
"You sound like a rooster being ripped off!"
I sighed shaking my head, knowing they won't stop until one of them says something really fucked up, and the other is so offended that he will let his brother know that he crossed the line, and he will ask for forgiveness.
At least these kinds of fights were held three days a week. While the remaining four days, I wish to hear them fighting again.

Twenty minutes later I parked outside her house, and I noticed the kids were ready to get out since their belts were loose, but I stopped them.
"Wow, wow, wow, wait for me" I got out of the car and walked to the door, when I opened I helped them down and put their backpacks, I took their hands and crossed the street.
"Mommy Sadie promised to take us to the water park" Commented Logan looking up at me
"Yeah! Jesse's coming too!" Said Noah excited
"Who's Jesse?" I asked reaching the sidewalk. Was she spending time with this 'Jesse'?
"Mommy's friend, he's really cool. He has a tattoo on his arm, a skull"
"Mommy, can we get tattooed too?" Asked Noah rocking our intertwined hands
"When you're older, yes. As for now, keep using the markers" I winked at him making him nod his head
I didn't knocked the door, I already know it was always opened, and she said she had no problem with me entering just like that, having informed before of course.
The moment I walked in, she came out of the kitchen opening her arms to hug the twins.
"My babies!" She embraced them tightly and kissed their faces several times as if she hadn't seen them in years "I missed you so much"
"I missed you too!"
"But I missed her more!"
"Logan" Sadie gave a look to the kid on her left, like scolding him. Shit, she really can tell them apart "Just in time, Y/n" This time she said to me as getting up still with her hands on our sons
"As always" I shrugged proud of myself
"Yeah, well, punctuality has always been one of your many virtues" She flattered smiling at me. God, that smile.
"Honey, Marcus asks if he can bring his niece?" Out of nowhere, a man around his thirties showed up.
He was brunette, very tall, let's say 6'1? His muscles showed through his t-shirt and from where I stood I could smell his expensive Giorgio Armani perfume. And to be honest he was good looking. Damn! He is really good looking.
But not only that, he was holding Riley. My precious and little Riley!
Oh and, what the hell with the fact that he called Sadie 'honey'?!
"Yeah sure, tell him it would be great" Replied Sadie as taking Logan and Noah's backpacks from their backs
This man doesn't seem to have noticed my presence, so I cleared my throat to get his attention making him turn to me "Oh, hi. I'm Jesse" He smiled extending his hand to me, and I took it as the educated person I am
"I'm Y/n, their mom" I tried to sound threatening, but I answered friendly. I mean, he hasn't done anything wrong to me, it's not like he stole my Sadie... Unless...
"Well, kids, why don't you go upstairs and change into your bathing suits, okay?" Sadie cheer them
"C'mon Noah! I brought our shark fins!" Logan said taking his brother by the shoulders and then dragged him
"YES! SHARK FINS!" Logan and Noah ran upstairs very excited
"Don't you forget something?" I said and immediately they turned around running towards me showing their biggest smiles. I knelt to be at their heights and they pounced on me almost making me fall
"Can't you stay a little longer?" Asked Logan against my neck "Come with us"
"Please? Me and Logan won't fight again, we promise" They were looking at me now with puppy eyes
I sighed holding my tears back "Sorry boys, I can't, it's— Uhm"
"Mommy Sadie has no problem" Said Logan "Right mom?" He turned at the ginger who was looking at them with a sad tiny smile
"Sure, you can join us. It'll be fun" She sounded sincere
I stared at their faces for a moment "Pretty please?" Said Noah pouting
"Umh, sorry kids, but I gotta go. I told your gramps I'll visit them, they're already waiting for me"
Both hugged me again and say it was okay, and that they'll miss me. Once they let me go, they ran upstairs planning their day at the pool.
"I'll take you to the door" Said Sadie, but first I approached Jesse to kiss Riley on her cheek and said goodbye to him
Once we were out, I put my hands on my pockets and turned to Sadie.
"Uhm, can I ask you a favor" I said scratching my neck, Sadie nodded crossing her arms "Could you pick up the kids from school this friday? I have a dentist appointment and I don't think I'll be on time. I'll pick them up here maybe... An hour later?
"Oh, sure, yeah. No problem" She agreed offering a smile
"Great..." I smiled back. My heart was beating so fast, that's because her only presence always did that to me, since we first met I must admit "... Jesse seems to be a good man"
"He is, the kids love him" She grinned widely "He has been a support to me this whole time"
"What a great support" I said sarcastically lowering my head so she couldn't see I was jealous
"Excuse me?"
"It was nothing" I mumbled
"No, it was something" She said sternly
"C'mon Sades, he just wants to get in your pants, if he hasn't already done it" Her facial expression changed, she was no longer confused, she was mad
"Are you serious— I can't believe you" She replied scowling
"Is the truth. Or what? Are you already in a relationship with him? That explains why he calls you 'honey'"
"God. Y/n, he's gay. The guy who asked if it was okay to bring his niece, Marcus? Is his fiancé" Sadie was really mad
"... Oh"
"Yes, 'Oh'. Besides, what do you care if I'm with someone? You and I are not together anymore" She was right, I wasn't hers, and she wasn't mine
"Do I have to remind you that it was you who asked me for the divorce?"
"And do I have to remind you that it was you who cheated?"
"I told you, it was a mistake"
At my statement, Sadie's lips trembled slightly, and shaking her head she responded "No... You had many chances to stop it, you decided to do it... You could have stopped when you were kissing her... You could have stopped when she asked you to go to her house... You could have stopped when you were in her bed"
I felt a tear rolling down my cheek, but Sadie's eyes were not full of sadness, or anger like those days when I told her about my infidelity cause I couldn't live with it.
This time, there was no feeling.
"And what did you do? You visited her again... So don't you dare to say it was a mistake"
Yes, I was the villain, I ruined what we had, I fucked everything up between us for no valid reason. I looked down for a second before turning around, I didn't even have the guts to say goodbye.
When I got in the car I looked at her house again. She wasn't there, the door was closed.
Right in that moment I collapsed. Not like the day I told her about me and the other woman, when she ran out of tears. Not like the day when she left with our kids. Not like the day she came back, to ask for divorce.
For some reason today was different. Maybe because in her eyes there was no trace of feelings for me anymore, not even the bad ones. I know I lost her forever.
