THE SIX OF THEM GATHERED IN AN OFFICE ROOM TO GO OVER THE PLAN,
Vivian grabbed a black whiteboard marker and began drawing out the buildings and the street to come up with an idea on how they were going to get the bag without dying.
"You're not doing this alone." Rick stated, looking over at Glenn,
"Even I think it's a bad idea and I don't even like you much." Daryl commented and Vivian rolled her eyes,
"Guys, just hear him out. It's a good idea." Vivian argued,
Glenn nodded, "If we go out there in a group, we're slow, drawing attention. If just Vivian and I go, we can move fast."
Vivian reached over and grabbed a clip and put it down in what would be the street on her little map, "Look, that's the tank, five blocks from where we are now." She pointed out before rolling up a piece of paper into a ball and placing it next to the clip, "That's the bag of guns. Here's the alley Glenn dragged you two into when we first met."
"That's where Daryl, Viv, Marcie and I will go." Glenn stated,
"Why me?" Daryl asked,
Marcie and Rick shared a look. She wasn't excited to be partnered up with the hothead, "And me?"
"Your crossbow is quieter than his gun." Glenn answered him before looking over at Marcie, "And if something goes wrong, Daryl should have some back up."
Daryl scoffed and Marcie rolled her eyes.
Vivian placed a sticky note pad down where Daryl and Marcie were going to be while Glenn continued, "While Daryl and Marcie wait here in the alley, Viv and I run up the street, grab the bag."
"You got us elsewhere?" Rick asked, motioning to himself and T-Dog,
Vivian picked up an eraser and set it down on the map, "You'll be in this alley here."
Rick met her eyes, "Two blocks away? Why?"
Glenn and Vivian shared a look, "We may not be able to come back the same way. Walkers might cut us off. If that happens, we won't go back to Daryl and Marcie. We'll go forward instead, all the way around to that alley where you guys are." Glenn explained,
"Whichever direction we go, we got you in both places to cover us." Vivian stated,
"Afterwards, we'll all meet back here." Glenn finished,
The group went silent for a moment before Daryl spoke, "Hey, kid, what'd you do before all this?"
"Delivered pizzas." He answered, "Why?"
Vivian smiled before standing up, "Alright. Let's do this."
Marcie moved to follow Glenn and Vivian when Rick pulled her back and held out her gun, "Here."
She stared at it for a moment before reaching out and grabbing it, "I didn't know you brought it with."
"Better safe than sorry." Rick stated and she nodded,
"Le's go! Sooner we get the damn guns, sooner we can look for my brother." Daryl called out,
Marcie rolled her eyes, lifting the back of her jacket to tuck her gun away and Rick smirked at her, "Good luck."
"Gonna need it." She mumbled, heading down the yellow ladder,
Vivian gripped her crowbar in one hand as they jogged down the alleyway, the others behind her. They crouched between some garbage containers, peeking out into the street to make sure the coast was clear,
"You got some balls for a Chinaman and a girl." Daryl commented as he loaded his crossbow,
"I'm Korean." Glenn defended,
"Whatever." The three of them rolled their eyes before Glenn and Vivian took off into the street.
Marcie took out her hunting knife and crouched down, "Do you always have to be such an ass?"
Daryl scoffed, "Don't know why ya came. No use anyways."
"You're lucky anyone wanted to help you look for your brother's sorry ass." Marcie replied,
"I didn' ask for anyone's help." Daryl snapped back,
Marcie rolled her eyes, a habit she's been doing a lot more around the redneck, "You know what?" She turned to face him, her eyebrows furrowed and her nose scrunched in anger, "The only person who actually came here for your brother, is you. And maybe T-Dog, because he felt guilty for leaving Merle strapped up on a roof and left to rot. But Glenn and Vivian? They came to help Rick. And I only went back into this shithole to make sure Rick made it out. And Rick? He came for the guns. So how about you take a second and act fucking grateful that we're taking the time out of our busy schedule to even think about looking for your brother." She growled, getting up into his face,
Daryl's face turned red and he took a step towards her and she knew it was only to make him look bigger, to show dominance.
She wasn't gonna let him make her feel small.
He opened his mouth to say something but she spotted movement over his shoulder. Daryl caught her gaze and gripped his crossbow.
Marcie ducked in time for Daryl to swing his crossbow over and aimed it at the kid behind him.
"Whoa, don't shoot me!" The skinny boy yelled, "What do you want?"
Daryl approached him, keeping his crossbow raised, "I'm looking for my brother. He's hurt real bad. You seen him?" Daryl asked him,
"Ayúdame!" The kid called out and his voice bounced around the alley,
"Daryl, shut him up." Marcie hissed, tightening her grip on her knife.
Vivian stayed behind Glenn as they ran down the street, ready to take out any walkers that came up behind them.
Glenn tripped over a wall of sandbags and she had to restrain herself from laughing as she jumped over it.
They ran past the tank and Glenn grabbed the bag of guns while Vivian reached for Rick's hat. More walkers began to approach and she knew they were gonna have to make a speedy exit.
She placed the hat on her head before taking the crowbar in both hands and bashing a walker's head. She turned to give Glenn a nod and they began running back towards the alley,
"Answer me." Daryl growled,
"Ayúdame!" The kid continued to call out, "Ayúdame! Ayúdame!"
"Shut the fuck up!" Marcie told him,
Daryl swung his crossbow at him, knocking him in the head. The kid fell to the ground and Marcie went to cover his mouth as he continued to yell,
"Shut up." Daryl kicked him,
"Dude, not helping!" Marcie told the older man,
Two other men ran into the alley and kicked the two away from the kid. Marcie scraped her face against the concrete as she hit the ground. One man began hitting Daryl with a metal bat while the other reached for Marcie's arms.
She kicked the man away and slashed at him with her knife, "Get away!"
The man kicked the knife from her hand and grabbed her hair, slamming her head into the concrete, "Get away from her!" Daryl grunted out.
She grabbed the man's ankle to give herself leverage, throwing her leg up to kick him in the cojones.
The man instantly let go and fell to his knees. Marcie stood and kneed him in the nose before tuning towards the man kicking Daryl.
"Pick on someone your own size." Marcie growled before running at him, putting all her weight into pushing him over.
Daryl laid on the ground for a moment, trying to catching his breath while Marcie and the man fought each other to get the other hand.
Vivian and Glenn ran back into the alley where they left Daryl and Marcie, only to be greeted by Marcie being beaten up and Daryl laying on the ground.
"That's it. That's the bag, Vato. Take it!" The man who grabbed Marcie yelled, tossing her aside.
The bald man stood and faced them, blood running from his nose. Vivian pushed Glenn away as the man ran towards them. She raised her crowbar and swung it at the bald man, hitting him in the shoulder. Before she could swing again, the man grabbed her arm and pinned it behind her back.
The other man went for Glenn, tackling him to the ground.
Marcie sat up, searching for her knife. Daryl grabbed his crossbow and aimed it at the bald man's ass. He yelled in pain as the arrow made impact and flung Vivian to the ground.
A car came to a screeching halt in the street and the man with the bat grabbed Glenn. Vivian reached for her crowbar but before she could get to take a swing at the men, walkers began to close in on them.
"Vivian! Daryl!" Glenn yelled as he was dragged into the car.
"No!" Marcie scrambled to her feet and began to run towards the end of the alley, Daryl following behind her, "Glenn!"
"Fuck!" Vivian yelled as the car sped off.
More walkers came towards them and she shut the fence, keeping them away. She took the hat off, gripping it in her fingers. Now they had two missing group members.
They heard more footsteps and turned to see T-Dog and Rick running towards them. Where were they two minutes ago?
Marcie turned to see the kid standing and she took her gun out from her waistband, "Where do you think you're going?"
The kid stared at the gun in fear. He couldn't have been younger than sixteen.
"I'm gonna kick your nuts up in your throat!" Daryl yelled and Rick held him back,
"Woah, stop it!"
T-Dog grabbed the kid and pinned him to the wall, "Let me go." The kid tried to fight him off and Marcie took a step closer, shoving the gun in his face, "Chill the fuck out!"
Vivian took the hat off and approached Rick, "They took Glenn." She told the sheriff,
"Who took Glenn?" He asked her,
"That little bastard and his little bastard homie friends!" Daryl answered for her as Rick continued to keep him away from the kid, "I'm gonna stomp your ass!"
"Guys! Guys!" T-Dog pointed down the alley where more walkers were gathering, "We're cut off!"
"Get to the ladder." Rick ordered, "Go."
Marcie put her gun away and her and T-Dog grabbed the kid's arms and they ran back towards the yellow ladder.
Vivian and Daryl stayed back, watching as Rick grabbed the bag of guns that the other group failed to take before following the other three.
"You got my hat?" Rick asked Vivian as they jogged back towards the ladder,
"It's a nice hat." She smirked.
