She was determined. That night, they would stop Snape and save the philosopher's stone. In the late afternoon Rosalyn, Hermione, Harry and Ron discussed their plans, that would be put into action by the end of the night.

"So, Hermione, you need to keep watch outside the staff room, all the teachers are there at this time, anyway, keep your eyes peeled for Snape and follow him if he leaves, can you do that?"

"Yes," said Hermione, nodding, "but, why me?"

Ron laughed, "you can pretend to want to talk to him about that rubbish we did in charms class yesterday." He mimicked Hermione. "I'm really sorry, Sir, I'm waiting for Professor Flitwick, I think I got the last question on his test wrong..."

Hermione rolled her eyes and said, "Shut up." But she trusted Rosalyn, and went to keep an eye out for Snape.

Rosalyn and the boys went to the third floor with the invisibility cloak, staying quiet, they weren't talking in case they got caught, but after an hour, Rosalyn could tell Ron was getting bored.

"But why can't Snape just come?" He exclaimed, coming out from underneath the cloak. Rosalyn shushed him but he waved her off. She said urgently. "We can't just leave, if Snape comes, he's coming for Voldemort! He's coming to get the stone!"

Ron reluctantly agreed and hid himself again. They didn't see anyone for another half an hour, and even Rosalyn had to admit that what they were doing was becoming pointless, but then a noise screeched through the darkness.

"Meow!"

Rosalyn jumped violently. It was Mrs Norris, Filch's cat. Could they get any more unlucky?

Rosalyn, Ron and Harry appeared out from under cloak and ran, but didn't get very far. Because McGonagall was waiting for them.

She pursed her lips, raising her eyebrows at the three of them, Rosalyn knew she was angry, and they were going to get detention, and Snape would get away.

Well, she did go off at them.

"I don't know if you think that you're harder to get past than a pack of enchantments," her voice got higher. "If you come here again, I'll take another fifty points from Gryffindor, yes, Potter, my own house!"

She sent them back to the common room. The only hope Rosalyn could cling onto now was the fact that Hermione was persuing Snape. But that didn't work either. She came through the portrait hole about five minutes after they did, and she was in despair.

"Rosalyn, it didn't work! Snape came and asked what I was doing, obviously I said I was waiting for Flitwick, but Snape outsmarted us! He went and got Flitwick and then went off, I only got away just now!"

She wasn't angry at her friends. She was really angry at herself, at Snape and at Voldemort. He was the one that had started this, after all, but even though she wasn't angry at Harry, Ron and Hermione, her voice was hard when she spoke to them. "This isn't over."

Her eyes were glittering with determination and Ron knew that look. She wasn't going to be stopped.

"What d'you mean?" Harry asked.

"I'm going down that portrait hole tonight, and I'm getting that stone before he does."

"No! Rosie- that's mental!"

"You can't! McGonagall would expell you!"

"So what?" Rosalyn broke out. "If Voldemort comes back, there won't be anything to get expelled from, there'll be a war! Like there was before! Harry and I are DEAD if he comes back!" She finally yelled, and Hermione, surprisingly, was the first to agree.

"Sorry Rosie, you're right."

The boys said sorry as well and Rosalyn explained, "I'll use the invisibility cloak."

"But will it cover all four of us?" Harry asked his twin.

"All- all four of us?"

"This is the hero talk, isn't it?" Ron said sarcastically. "Come off it! We're not letting you go alone, plus, mum would kill me if she found out you were dead and I did nothing to stop it."

Rosalyn chuckled, "but if we get caught-"

"Don't bother," Harry advised. "We're coming with you, Rosie, whether you want us to or not."

"But you could get expelled as well!"

"Not if I can help it," Hermione added. "Flitwick told me that I got a hundred and twelve percent on his test, they are not chucking me out for that." Rosalyn laughed, happy that at least her and her friends could still laugh together.

They went down to dinner but Rosalyn didn't really feel like eating, so she sat in silence, playing with her Yorkshire pudding. Fred, George and Lee Jordan were making jokes to all the Gryffindors at their end of the table and Rosalyn was trying to tune in, but she just couldn't.

When everyone went back up to the common room, she stayed in the corner on a bare but comfortable armchair. She read a few books but couldn't keep her mind off the danger they would face tonight.

When the common room finally emptied, Harry, Ron and Hermione waited on the balcony of the dorms whilst Rosalyn went to get the cloak, she sprinted up the cold stone steps to the dormitory and looked in her trunk. It wasn't there. Where was it? Someone hadn't... taken it?

She looked on her bedside table, under the bed, on the shelves, in the cupboard, it was nowhere. She realised that when they and went to see Hagrid, she had left it in the common room and hadn't seen it since, but then she stripped the bed and found a note written in the same hand as it had been at Christmas. It said three words. Just in case.

She gasped, and took the cloak in her hands immediately. It said what? Who took it? Was it the same person that gave it to her, or had it just been handed into them? She had no idea, but she quickly took the neatly folded cloak from her bed, and, touching her rose locket gently, as the cloak reminded her of her father, she quickly headed out if the dorm.

She ran into Harry, Ron and Hermione on the stairs and the four if them walked down them into the common room. The fire was still burning in the grate and giving light to the room. No one was there. Or so she thought.

A noise cane to her through the semi-darkness, a ribbit-ribbit noise, there it was again, ribbit-ribbit, ribbit-ribbit.

"Trevor!" She whisper-yelled, the toad was on the edge of an armchair.

Ron noticed him as well. "Trevor! Trevor go away, go back to bed you shouldn't be here!"

"And neither should you," a voice said, and Neville stepped out from the armchair. Great, Rosalyn thought sarcastically. Neville had not taken lightly to them getting fifty points removed from Gryffindor and he wouldn't this time either.

As Neville saw Rosalyn he went red, but she could tell that he was fighting it and he said, rightly accusing them. "You're sneaking out again aren't you?"

Rosalyn said, "no, Neville, listen-"

"No, I won't let you! You'll get Gryffindor into trouble again! I- I- I'll fight you!"

"I wouldn't do that," Ron muttered under his breath. Realistically, the quartet wouldn't hurt someone as defenceless as Neville, but they needed to throw him off the scent.

She didn't know what to do, she couldn't think, how could they get out of this.

She pinched Hermione's arm and whispered, "do something!"

"Neville I'm really, really sorry about this," she apologised, pulling out her wand. "Petrificus Totalus!" Neville's arms stuck to his side, his mouth closed and he froze. Rosalyn felt quite sorry for him as he fell backwards with a thump.

Hermione put her wand back in her pocket, Ron stated. "You're a little scary sometimes, you know that, brilliant, but scary."

"What did you do to him?" Harry asked.

"It's the full body-bind," Hermione answered. "Oh, Neville, I'm so sorry..."

Rosalyn said, "sorry Neville, but we had to."

She looked at the boy's face, which was still a bit red, and sighed, he had never been overly brave, but he had done that to try and save them, even if they overpowered him. They all murmured sort as they stepped past him.

Outside they put the cloak on and went along the corridor, heading towards the third floor.

"Ouch, Ron, that was my foot!" Hermione whisper-yelled.

But then they encountered a much bigger problem. Outside the third floor, Peeves the Poltergeist was flying about. They couldn't pass him, how many more problems were they going to crash into?
