Chapter Thirty-One

Melissa slowly wakes up and starts ti sit up before jumping when she find Isaac and Scott asleep on a chair and the floor. "Really, boys?" She muttered before the door opened making her look over to see Azalea walk in, "Good morning." Azalea said and Melissa raised her eyebrows.
"Explain." She said as she gestured to the boys and Azalea glanced over at them before sighing, "Yeah... They've been like that for hours. I'm pretty sure I was on watch the entire time." Azalea said. "But you were gone." Melissa said and Azalea nodded, "I left half an hour ago cause I thought you might need some coffee and food when you deal with those to." Azalea said before handing Melissa a cup of coffee and a bag of food.
"Oh Azalea, I love you." Melissa said before taking a sip of coffee making Azalea chuckle before looking at the boys. "Guys!" Azalea yelled making them both jump awake and look around alarmed, "What do you think you're doing?" Melissa asked as Azalea sat down next to her.
"Uh, we were watching over you..." Isaac said and Scott nodded, "We wanted to make sure you weren't the third sacrifice." Scott said and Melissa raised her eyebrows. "But both of you were asleep." She said making Scott look at Isaac, "You were on watch last!" He said and Isaac looked at him crazy. "What are you talking about? You were on watch last!" Isaac said and Scott shook his head, "No, you were on watch last!" He said and Isaac's eyes widened slightly.
"I might have been on watch last..." He said and Azalea sighed, "You've both been asleep for the last four hours. I've been on watch the whole time." She said making the boys look at each other. "We are so dead." Isaac whispered and Scott nodded, "Looks like Azalea is my only hero. And she is now my favorite because she bought me breakfast." Melissa said making Azalea smirk while the boys frowned slightly.
"Wait, didn't you say that they were all doctors? I mean, I haven't had an M.D. recently attached to the end of my name, so I think I'm in the clear." Melissa said and Scott nodded, "Yeah, but it could just come under any kind of healer, Mom- and you were definitely a healer last night." Scott said.
"Yeah, well, I'm not gonna be anyone's human sacrifice today, so all of you get your butts to school. Azalea, thank you for the breakfast and coffee." Melissa said and Azalea smiled at her and nodded before she pulled Isaac and Scott out of the room.

"Go back to school." Derek said as Azalea, Isaac and Boyd walked into the loft, "Well, actually, we can't. Some kid pissed Azalea off and Boyd and I are incredibly and unbelievably sick." Isaac said making Derek scoff from the stairs.
"With what? Brain damage?" Derek asked making Azalea chuckle, "Well, I have a migraine, and, uh... Boyd here has explosive diarrhea." Isaac said and Azalea laughed as Boyd gave him a dirty look. "We're here to protect you." Boyd said as Derek started walking down the stairs, "You're here to protect me? Well, I'm in trouble, then." He said
"Actually, Boyd has come up with a plan." Azalea said as she sat next to Isaac on the table and Boyd nodded, "Yeah, I thought about the time Gerard had me and Erica locked up, tied up with electrical wires pushing currents through us. I was wondering how we could do something like that... but on a bigger scale." Boyd explained as he pulled out a bunch of electrical wires.
"In a pool of electrified water, it can take up to fifty milliamps to kill a normal human." Boyd said as he turned on a hose in the loft, "Less than the power it takes to turn on a light bulb." Boyd said and Derek glanced over at Isaac and Azalea. "That's... comforting..." Derek said and Azalea chuckled as she wrapped her arms around Isaac's arm while resting her chin on his shoulder.
"If we disable the circuit interrupter in the building's electrical room, the current will keep coming, and anyone who steps foot in here? They'll get a pretty shocking surprise." Boyd said and Azalea smirked, "Especially someone who's barefoot." She said and Boyd nodded.
A little while later Boyd flipped a switch, turning a light on before tossing the electric wire into the water covered floor. Immediately the water started cracking with electricity as they all stood on wood pallets above the water. "Is this gonna kill 'em?" Isaac asked as they watched the electrified water and Boyd shook his head slightly.
"I hope so." He said and Azalea nodded in agreement, "As do I."

Azalea and Isaac sat next to each other with Derek standing next to them and Boyd on a separate pallet not far away as the sun started going down. "Isn't that light supposed to be on?" Isaac asked, making them all look over at a control box, "Yeah..." Derek said.
"What does it mean if it's not?" Isaac asked and Azalea signed, "Someone cut the auxiliary power." She said. "What about the main-" Boyd went to ask but all of the sudden all the lights went out making them shoot up. Azalea glanced down at the water before slowly stepping down.
"Azalea!" Isaac said, going to grab her arm but stopped when they realize she was completely fine. Derek stepped down and walked over to the main room. "Derek... What do we do now?" Azalea asked and Derek looked up at the door with red eyes, "We fight."
A few seconds later there was some banging and clanging coming from the door before it got pulled open as Boyd, Isaac and Azalea went to stand next to Derek. Kali slowly walked into the loft, her clawed hand on full display, "Gonna be honest, Derek... When Ennis died, I thought to myself, I'd just go for it- find you and kill you, wherever you stood." She said as she walked down the steps.
"Then, I remembered how you surround yourself with these teenagers, hiding behind them, and I thought, What's a girl gotta do to get you alone?" Kali said before glancing back as the twins dragged Miss. Blake through the door way. "You and me, Derek... or they tear her apart. What do you say? You think you can beat me one-on-one?" Kali asked and Derek nodded at Boyd, Isaac and Azalea making them walk back over to the wooden pallets.
"I'm gonna rip your throat out... With my teeth." Derek said before both him and Kali roared at each other and Derek leaped at her. Kali went to swipe at him but Derek ducked, before swiping at her. Kali dragged her foot through the water but Derek jumped over at it, swiping at her. She ducked and swiped her claws against his stomach making Miss. Blake scream.
Kali jumped onto one of the beamed and Derek ran over to her but she kicked him in the face making him stumble back. Kali leaped onto the table and growled at Derek as he stood up before running at her. He went to swipe at her legs hut she just tried to step on his arms before kicking him back into the water.
Derek quickly sat up, spinning around to growl at her as she jumped off the table before kicking him back again. Miss. Blake screamed and Isaac when to run forward but Derek noticed. "No!" He yelled and Azalea pulled Isaac back before looking at Boyd, "Wait." She said.
Derek got up and swiped at Kali but she grabbed his arm before swiping at his stomach. He went to swipe at her again but she blocked both his arms as they both growled at each other. Kali pulled her arms back, kicking his side and he shoved her back into a pillar.
She leaped up, during a back flip I'm the process, before kicking him to the ground again. Kali grabbed him, pulling him up back the back of his neck as Azalea's phone buzzed making her pull it out to see a text from Stiles. "Now." She said as she glanced at Isaac and Boyd, Isaac nodded before quickly running towards the twins and Miss. Blake.
The twins ran forward to stop him while Azalea and Body were about to run over to Derek. All of the sudden the water electrified making Boyd fall to the ground and Azalea fell to her knees while Isaac pulled Miss. Blake away. Kali and Derek both fall to the ground as the electricity started to go away and Kali stood back up.
"Take him!" She yelled and the twins shot out, grabbing Boyd while she grabbed Derek. Ethan and Aiden held Derek's clawed hands up while Kali lifted a very weak Boyd up. "No! Wait!" Azalea yelled as she got to but before she could run forward Kali dropped Boyd onto Derek's claws.
Tears filled Azalea's eyes as Boyd groaned in pain before the twins let Derek go making Boyd fall to his knees. "I'm giving you until the next full moon, Derek. Make the smart choice. Join the pack... or next time, I'm killing all of you." Kali said before her and the twins walked out of the loft.
Azalea, Isaac and Miss. Blake watched as Derek tried to press his hands to Boyd's wounds. "It's okay..." Boyd said weakly and Derek shook his head, "No, no... No, it's not... It's not..." Derek said, breathing heavily. "It's all okay, Derek..." Boyd said and Derek looked at him and shook his head slightly, "I'm... I'm sorry." He said in a slight whisper.
"The full moon... that feeling? That was worth it. There's a lunar eclipse. I always wondered what... what that felt like for one of us... for a Werewolf..." Boyd said weakly before falling to the ground. Azalea let out a shakey breath before walking forward, gently grabbing Derek's shoulder as she kneeled down next to him.
Stiles, Lydia and Cora ran into the loft and Cora's eyes widened before she quickly ran over to Boyd. Cora lifted his head up slightly as she started to cry before she leaned her head on his chest.

Azalea sat at the edge of the cliff in the preserve, occasionally grabbing a hand full of leaves and tossing them, watching them float down. She glanced back as she heard someone walk up to see her brother who sighed softly and sat down next to her.
"Isaac told me what happened... Figured I'd find you here, you always liked going to that cliff that was near our childhood home... Even if you almost fell off it once." Stefan said and Azalea chuckled slightly before shaking her head as she stared out on the distance over the town.
"Remeber when Talia asked us to join the Hale pack? When Derek was still in highschool?" She asked and he nodded slightly, "And you instantly refused the second she said the word join." He said and she nodded. "Have you ever figured out why I always refused joining any pack before Derek's?" She asked and he sighed and shook his head, "I always kind of assumed you didnt want to get close to anyone ever again." He said and she shook her head.
"I didn't care about getting close to anyone. I knew I would get close to people again at some point..." She said as a tear fell down her cheek, "I- I refused because I wanted to avoid this feeling." She said before looking at Stefan. "The feeling of losing a pack member. It feels the same exact way that I felt when you found me that night." She said and he sighed softly.
"I don't have to tell you that none of this is your fault, right?" He asked and she shrugged slightly, "It feels like it is. I'm the one who picked Erica and Boyd to be in the pack. If I hadn't then they'd still be alive." She said and Stefan shook his head. "If you hadn't then Erica would still be having seizures and being maxed fun of for it and Boyd would still have no friends. You helped give them a little bit if a better life." He said and she sighed.
"Not a very long one." She said before throwing a handful of leaves off the cliff, watching the fall down. "I have so much power but yet I can't seem to be able to save anyone." She said making Stefan sigh and shake his head. "That's not true, Azalea. Take Isaac for example, you help save him from his abusive father, a hunter, Gerard, Allison. Now he lives in a nice home, and he has people who care about him. And a girlfriend." He said and she didnt say anything as she started out in the distance.
"You saved Pedro." He said and she shook her head, "Pedro is dead! Has been for years." Azalea said and he smiled softly. "He would have died a lot sooner if you hadn't you hadn't found him and been too nice to leave him in the woods. Because of you, he was about to grow old and have a family and be happy... Even if it wasnt with you." He said making her look at him.
"You could have been selfish that day in spain, but you weren't. You let him go and he lived a happy life... And now you have Isaac." He said and she sighed softly, "What if he goes too?" She asked and Stefan shrugged slightly.
"Then you have millions of other guys, girl, non-binary people left in the word who would be stupid enough to fall in love with you." He said and she smiled softly and gave him a look, "I don't like labels." She said and he raised his hands slightly. "I didn't say a label!" He said in defense and she chuckled while he smiled softly and gently grabbed her shoulder.
"It's going to be okay, Azalea." He said before kissing the side of her head as she looked up at the stars in the night sky.
